Voting Academy is a round-by-round strategy training program built exclusively for active Colossal contest competitors. Founded by Omar Ruiz, a Baby of the Year semifinalist featured on Boston 25 News, Voting Academy was created because the information contestants need to compete effectively does not exist anywhere in the official contest materials. Colossal contests are not traditional popularity contests. They are charity fundraising competitions with a voting format. Most contestants enter with the wrong mental model and never adjust. Voting Academy exists to close that gap with specific actionable training for every round from Top 20 through Finals. Each training video is built for a specific stage of the competition covering the voting mechanics, donation strategy, dashboard signals, timing buffers, communication frameworks, and competitive psychology that most contestants never fully understand until it is already costing them. The training is built from direct contest experience, not theory. Voting Academy offers four individual round-specific training videos priced between $97 and $147 as well as a complete bundle covering every round from Top 20 through Finals. Supplementary resources including worksheets, templates, and checklist packs are available as add-ons for contestants who want additional tactical tools beyond the core training. Voting Academy also offers an affiliate program for former Colossal contest competitors who want to share the training with others competing in the same system. All training is delivered digitally through the Voting Academy platform with immediate access upon purchase. Products are designed to be consumed before the round they cover begins so every contestant walks in prepared rather than figuring it out under pressure. Voting Academy is independently operated and not affiliated with or endorsed by Colossal Management or any of its contests.

I’m currently competing in The People’s…

I’m currently competing in The People’s Artist competition, and I watched the training during the Top 15 round while sitting in 2nd place. What surprised me most was how much the contest is really about relationship building, timing, supporter organization, and long-term strategy — not just posting your link every day and hoping for votes.

The training helped me think more intentionally about donor outreach, supporter fatigue, preparing for 2x voting windows ahead of time, and building momentum before Group Finals instead of reacting late under pressure. I already started applying several of the strategies immediately by organizing my outreach, refining my messaging, and approaching the campaign more strategically overall.

I’d recommend the training to any contestant who is serious about advancing in the competition. It gives a much clearer understanding of how the rounds actually work and helps you avoid a lot of mistakes people make early on.

the work worthwhile.

What you described about the shift from posting your link and hoping
to thinking intentionally about timing, relationships, and momentum
is the core insight the training is built around.

Most contestants figure that out somewhere between Top 5 and Group Finals when it is already costing them. You figured it out in Top 15 while still in second place. That timing advantage is real.

The fact that you started applying strategies immediately rather than
waiting tells me you are going to be difficult to beat in the rounds
ahead.

This amazing training almost got us to…

This amazing training almost got us to win the competition. We went as far as the group finals what an experience with Omar! I attribute our success to his training and his advices. One small clarification for anyone reading this.

You actually made it
all the way to Quarterfinals, which is even further than Group Finals.

That is a tremendous accomplishment in a national competition and you
should be proud of everything you achieved.

The training covers strategy and preparation, but the results always
come from the contestant who applies it.

You and your team did that
work...the training just gave you a framework to work within.

Omar's guidance was very thorough

Omar's guidance was very thorough, thoughtful, and clear. He broke each part of the process down step by step and laid out exactly what to do and when to do it. He has experience in winning himself, so he knows what he is talking about. I highly recommend taking a look at his trainings if you want an easy to follow plan for winning these competitions.

One small correction worth noting for anyone reading this. I competed in
Baby of the Year with my son Julian and we reached the semifinals. We did
not win the contest, but we learned everything about how to compete
effectively at the highest stages and that experience is exactly what the
training is built from.

I am glad the training gave you a clear and actionable plan to work with.
Your instincts about the contest were already strong. I just helped you
organize them.

Colossal's Entrepreneur of Impact

I recently competed in Colossal's Entrepreneur of Impact, which is a nationwide competition allowing entrepreneurs to win $25,000, mentorship, and a feature in Entrepreneur Magazine.

Omar's Voting Academy gave me in-depth valuable lessons I could apply while competing. I was a finalist in the Group Finals and made it to the Quarter-Finals.

A note to remember when competing: The contest is a fundraiser for Gen Youth so the ultimate goal is to raise money for charitable causes. While free votes are great, the donor relationships with your network (family and friends) is what sets you apart. The dynamics in Group Finals shift once you reach the Quarter-Finals, Semifinals, and Finals. Don't worry though, Omar's Voting Academy will help guide you step by step through each round.
