Thomas Startin Jnr Ltd was owned by the Startin family up until 1987 when the Directors who had been with the company since 1949 organised the purchase from the last living member of the Startin family. The acquisition took place to ensure the future continuity of this long-established business which now trades as Startin Group of Companies. From our humble beginnings in Birmingham, we slowly migrated south. Redditch, Worcestershire, is home to our head office where we have Peugeot, Suzuki, and KIA and Vauxhall. In Worcester City we have our Honda, Dacia, Renault, Peugeot, and Suzuki franchises, just down the road we also have our Škoda dealership on Malvern Road in Powick. In addition, we recently expanded by acquiring a Vauxhall dealership on the popular Park Farm Industrial Estate in Redditch. I recently had my car serviced at Startin Peugeot Worcester, and I cannot rate the experience highly enough.
From start to finish, the staff were excellent, providing a genuinely personal touch and staying incredibly helpful throughout the day. I was particularly impressed with the communication; I received a phone call exactly when expected to let me know the car was ready, which made my scheduling much easier, and also a video of the service.
Following the service, I was sent a very thorough and detailed report, which gave me total peace of mind regarding the condition of my vehicle.
A huge thank you to Zac, the service adviser, and Lee, the technician, for their professionalism and hard work. If you are looking for reliable and friendly service in Worcester, this is the place to go!

The service team does not know how to communicate with either customers or each other they would ignore you and continue typing even if you were sitting in front of them. Avoid at all cost.

I am extremely disappointed with the service we have received from Startin Peugeot Redditch.
We purchased a 2019 reg Peugeot 3008 less than 12 months ago (the buying process was very smooth and easy thanks to Josh) and have experienced ongoing issues ever since. Despite multiple visits to the service department, the problems persist and have not been handled professionally or effectively by any member of the startin team.
There have been repeated faults with the oil warning light, suspension, steering, and Apple CarPlay system. Each time the car is taken in, we are told that no fault can be found—yet the same issues continue to reoccur, requiring a second or third visit before they are finally acknowledged and begin to be solved.
Communication from the service department has been spectacularly poor. On multiple occasions, we have been told that calls were made to us when this is simply not true. Most recently, we were not informed that the vehicle was ready for collection after being taken in for yet another fault. My husband had to call the dealership himself the following morning to chase an update, at which point Tyler (Service Department) again claimed she had already contacted us. Our phone records clearly show no missed calls from the dealership. I would be happy to provide these to prove the horrendous communication and lack of honesty that the dealership provides.
This lack of honesty, accountability, and basic customer service only adds to what has already been a frustrating and stressful experience. Given the number of faults we have experienced and the way they have been handled, I would not recommend this dealership.

I rarely write negative reviews but was very disappointed with this company. We agreed a sale and I phoned to pay the deposit. Was told the salesman was busy and when I phoned subsequently he informed me that the car had been sold. I presume this is an acceptable practice for car sales people but it leaves an extremely bad taste.

I would like to share my very positive experience at the car dealership, especially thanks to Mr. Pele. He is an outstanding salesperson — professional, friendly, and truly dedicated to helping the customer. He made the whole process smooth and comfortable, and thanks to him I was able to secure a really great deal.
I also noticed a positive change in the atmosphere at the dealership. A staff member who was previously not very pleasant has clearly improved her attitude, which made the experience even better.
However, Mr. Pele truly stands out — he is an exceptional salesman who goes above and beyond. I highly recommend working with him!

I would strongly advise people to think very carefully before buying a vehicle from this dealership, particularly the Redditch Vauxhall branch in the Birmingham area.
In my case, the vehicle was transferred with the DVLA before I had paid for the car and before the final paperwork was completed, and this was done without my knowledge or consent. I later confirmed with the DVLA that the transfer request had been submitted earlier than what I had been told.
To make matters worse, my personal details were submitted incorrectly, despite the dealership having my driving licence with the correct information. This raises serious concerns about the level of care taken when handling customer data.
Because the vehicle was transferred without my approval, I also lost the opportunity to choose who the registered keeper should be, which has now unnecessarily added another keeper to the vehicle’s history.
Attempts to resolve these issues have largely been dismissed rather than properly addressed.
Buying a car should be a transparent and straightforward process, but unfortunately my experience with the Redditch Vauxhall dealership in the Birmingham area has been stressful and extremely disappointing.
Based on what happened, I would strongly recommend that anyone considering purchasing a vehicle here checks every document carefully and ensures nothing is processed without their explicit approval.

I bought a BYD Seal U DM-i from Startin’s Redditch and “impressed” doesn’t even begin to cover it.
From the very start, my salesman Hadlee was thorough, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful—nothing rushed, nothing pushy, just excellent service throughout. I also dealt with Brian and Andy on the finance side, who made the whole process clear, smooth, and stress-free.
I’ve bought a LOT of cars over the years, and this has honestly been one of the nicest purchasing journeys I’ve had.
Everything felt well organised, professional, and customer-focused.
Driving away today, the surprises just kept coming. What an outstanding piece of kit, and at a very sensible price too. The BYD Seal U DM-i has exceeded my expectations in every way.
Huge thanks to the whole team at Startin’s Redditch—this is how buying a car should feel.

Visited Startin Kia Redditch to look at the EV5 but first popped into Startin BYD next door while I was there. The staff at BYD were very helpful and knowledgeable.
Parking is really tight at this site so I had parked in front of the Kia showroom where there was a space. As I was making my out of the BYD showroom to go into the Kia showroom a salesman from Kia came in and told me to move my car, not asked but told me. Not friendly or polite but an attitude that told me Kia was definitely not for me. Of course I moved my car immediately but decided to drive home never to visit Kia again. If you don’t want people to park there then simply put some cones out or at least be pleasant and engaging. We’re potential customers, not the enemy! This was not a good experience. It certainly scared me off the Kia brand.

Collected our new Renault Symboiz from Startin Worcester 17/3/2025 to date the car has only done 2758 miles.
Returning from a 2 week holiday 21/1/2026 the car developed a clunking noise from the rear when braking.
As not local to Worcester we had the car checked at our local Renault Dealership 23/1/2026 unfortunately had a call from the Garage telling us all brake discs and brake pads need replacing. They told us to contact dealer we bought car from for them to deal with problem.
Phoned Startin straight away spoke to business manager who said they could deal with it but as it was Friday he would speak to service manage and get back to me Monday 26/1/2026.
After numerous phone calls by us and promises from business manager we were finally told on Wednesday 28/1/2026 it was wear and tear and we would have to pay £1100 for replacement part.
Not happy with this response as car had only done 2758 miles we contacted Renault Customer Services, they called Startin for us to see what could be done to help with cost, they were told same thing we were going to have to pay for repair.
Wouldn’t recommend this company to anybody, all they want is to sell you a car and wash their of after sale problems.

It was my first time to buy a car online so I was rather nervous especially as we had a long distance to collect the car. I need not have worried as from the very outset Oliver made me feel comfortable about buying online. He sent me a detailed video of the car which a kerbed alloy wheel which he had refurbished for me, excellent customer service. He held the car for a longer than normal time as we needed time to make travel arrangements. Oliver collected my wife from the station again great service and looked after her very well. It's nice to find a company with great communication and that it is genuinely customer focused. Startin Suzuki are highly recommended. Thanks Ollie.

The customer service has gone downhill big time.
After pre-ordering my car & waiting 9months for it, the colour is nothing like it was meant to be, downgraded features even on the GS model that originally I'd been told would be on it.
Promises not held up, screen error messages dismissed, major delay to car mat's. Fault's not resolved as "they don't know why there's a fault"!
Taxed to fit in with THEIR sales targets meaning I lost a months road tax.
Still waiting since November for contact about a service plan. No-one seems bothered at all.
Husband walked away from the new car he'd ordered as total mess up on collection, salesman who it was booked in with, was on a day off & business manager who booked it all due to illness to the original salesman, wouldn't come out of his office to deal with anything & left a junior saleman to sort it out, then to be told the wrong model had turned up & it'd be at least another month before a correct car would arrive. The garage had had the car for over 2 weeks & didn't realise!!
If this is how you treat returning customers, it doesn't bode well for the future!

In response to your reply. The down graded features are to MY Frontera.
Having spoken to the original salesman last Wednesday ( & yes I know he'd been in hospital, hence why Chad had taken over dealing with husbands handover) & told servicing would contact me about a service plan, which I've been told since November, i've still heard nothing. The faults are not being addressed, car mats been on order since August & still on "back order!"
In regards to my husbands car, we were only told as an after thought, once he'd asked for his deposit back, they told him features were missing! It still doesn't explain why Chad wouldn't come out his office to deal with it! Nothing was mentioned about any compensation, other than waiting another month for the correct car to arrived. The sane thing happened 3years ago when he brought his last car from you & you had to source another car for him to have the model he'd paid for.
He has since gone elsewhere, got great service, a better px deal & the car that was as specified!

Since writing this review, I have been contacted by Alex, a manager within the Company. Alex was nothing short of wonderful. Understanding my frustration and sympathising with the situation. I am so grateful for his honesty communication. Within 24hrs Alex has gone above and beyond to ensure I feel heard and supported. Thank you Alex - My faith in Starin Group Worcester has been fully restored.
I wrote a review in the 14th November about the poor service I’d received. I was contacted by Jordan who at first was helpful and sympathetic. Openly admitting the company was at fault, and the reason me and my daughter were left in such a dangerous and vulnerable position. Since then I have attempted to contact Jordan, Will and attempted to email Alex. Unfortunately I have had zero response! I emailed requesting details of managing directors again, absolutely no one has answered.
I am genuinely appalled by the service and lack of customer service afterwards.
Good customer service is the reason businesses thrive, so I am positive the managing director would be unhappy to hear this is how the customer facing staff treat people.
I will never use StartinGroup again and would advise family and friends to stay away.

Very poor services in Startin Nissan/ Skoda branch.
I booked my recall services to update my software system on my vehicle. I apply my annual leave and go to their shop for do the service with my little baby. And finally nothing do with me (can’t get the software version and no prepare before) and it waste my time totally for 6 hours.
I booked the appointment again after 2 week, they promise everything okay and before 2 days of the services appointment, they called me again and cancel my recall services as no equipment and training for their branch(Worcester), that ‘a really Ridiculous!!
Waste my time stay with my little baby and poor services without the Ridiculous reason.

I purchased a new Peugeot 3008 from Startins Redditch. All through the process I dealt with Rob Greenwood. He was excellent. He helped me decide what car to go for and kept me up to date as the order progressed. Rob is very knowledgeable of the Peugeot brand. He is easy to talk to and treats you with respect. I had dealt with Rob many times over the years when I have purchased a new car. It is because of Rob that I keep going back.
I would recommend Rob and Startins to all.
