A well stocked shop in Uppermill. Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff who patiently helped me choose a jumper that best suited me.

First class service from a first class shop.

Any visit to Lucy Cobb is a pleasurable experience. You can call prior to visiting to chat about any purchase you are thi b king of making and they will advise but never pressurise to buy. Its such a lovely shop, lots of choice, superb staff and always a lovely welcome. I have purchased both online and in the shop and csnt wait to spend my vouchers there. Lucy and the girls are a credit to the shop.

Lovely shop!

Lucy Cobb’s in Uppermill is a lovely shopping experience! It’s rare to find an independent shop these days with great quality clothes etc. The whole team are very knowledgeable and helpful. And so lovely too! They’ve gone the extra mile in getting me a couple of jackets and trousers over the years when they’ve been popular and out of stock. Nothing is too much trouble for them. It’s a pleasure shopping there! I sometimes meet up with my sister there, we both shop and then have a coffee across the road afterwards. A great day!

A true gem

I’ve been shopping at Lucy Cobb since the boutique first opened nearly 20 years ago and it continues to be my first port of call when needing new clothes.

I shop both online and in store and always receive outstanding service. Lucy and her team are brilliant, they are always so helpful when it comes to style advice and I trust they will give me an honest opinion on what suits me.

The range of clothes they stock is really good with new lines continually arriving ensuring there’s always something new to try on.

On the odd occasion I’ve had to return anything the after sales service has similarly been equally as good.

Fantastic Service - highly recommend Lucy Cobb!

I cannot recommend Lucy Cobb highly enough! From start to finish the customer service has been exceptional - both online and in store.
I recently ordered a pair of Robell trousers online (as I couldn’t get to the shop) and had a question about sizing, so I called them. A lovely girl answered and was so helpful - she took the time to make sure I got the right fit, which I really appreciated.

I placed my order online and was thrilled with how quickly it arrived! The whole experience, both online and over the phone, was smooth and stress-free.

Visiting the shop is an equally wonderful experience. The girls are warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about their products. They take the time to help you find exactly what you are looking for and make the whole experience feel personal and enjoyable.

It’s rare to find a business that truly cares about its customers, but Lucy Cobb does just that. I would definitely recommend them to everyone I know!

Terrible Customer service!

I purchased some Robell trousers recently and they had a faulty seam. I contacted Lucy Cobb via email. No response! I sent another and still no response. I eventually had to contact them on their Enquires page. They replied and asked me to send photos, I duly sent these but apparently they were not good enough. My pictures were crystal clear! I resent pictures but they did not apparently show the fault!
I just felt I was been 'fobbed off'!
I persisted and eventually they told me to send them back using 'standard 2nd class post'. I would have no proof of them having arrived using this method and I feel my trousers would perhaps have 'got lost in the post!! I have decided to not return them but after spending lots of money over the years at Lucy Cobb I do feel very dissatisfied with their negative response to my issue. I have informed them that I will never shop with them again! Of course no response from them.
Just beware if you have a problem they are not interested. Very poor service.

I have reviewed this case and looked at the issues you have raised.
The original photographs were very close up and blurred and we could not decipher them. When you sent the clear photos we agreed that they were faulty and to send them back. The timeline was 4 days from getting the revised photos to us getting agreement from Robell for a refund.
We always ask customers to send back standard postage. The trousers in question were £27 at half price, and tracked postage adds unnecessary costs. We are a very reputable business and to imply they would have ‘got lost ‘ in the post is an insult to our integrity.
I explained all this in my email to you following your email to us at the time.
We have 20 years experience and we have thousands of 5 ⭐️ reviews all testament to that on reviews.co.uk where an automatic email gets sent out to all our customers after a purchase. We are very proud of this and me and my team have worked hard to achieve this over many years.

Gorgeous boots…

I was looking for a pair of tan ankle boots for ages and luckily I found this wonderful shop online which stocked Lunar benson boots.
They arrived very quickly, beautifully packaged and I can honestly say that I am thrilled to bits with them.
They are so comfortable and waterproof too!! Thank you !

Products are not good quality. Snotty staff. Avoid

Products are not good quality. Took 5 attempts of turning up to the shop and it was closed. Tried turning up on a Saturday morning and midweek as well. Who are these people? Avoid avoid avoid! Don't bother having a shop if you're going to turn customers away! I found the staff to be quite rude. Snotty staff up their own a*se!

Our opening hours are less since the pandemic due to the fact that more people now shop online and our online business has grown and we need to get orders out to the post office by 11am on a Saturday.

Our staff are not snotty nor rude and we will regularly let people in if we possibly can outside of those hours but sorry, sometimes we don’t have the resources to be able to do that.

Shop Closed on Saturday … Again

So We tried to shop at Lucy Cobb in Uppermill on Saturday at 10:45pm , along with another couple who were unknown to us .The staff were very curt and said we don’t open till 11am ,this on a Saturday morning.We said we can’t come back ,they were not interested ,could not care less .Why the staff could not have said come in or we will be two minutes ,I have no idea .Thus must be a phenomenal business to turn away four customers,specially when there are at least three other ladies wear shops all open in the same village .Anyway we went to Velvet (highly recommended) in Ramsbottom where we spent our money ,and even received tea and biscuits .Avoid Lucy Cobb in Uppermill they don’t deserve your hard earned money !

I am sorry that our opening hours didn’t work for you on that occasion.

On a Saturday we have to get the overnight orders to the post office in the morning, and open at 11 am on the dot.

We have to do a pre- open clean of the shop and some staff would have been doing that ready to welcome our customers.

On that day we were holding a Prosecco event and they were especially busy preparing for it. It was a great success.

Such a shame ........

Unfortunately I have to write a negative review. I ordered some Robell Capri trousers in the sale back in January of this year. I received the trousers, beautifully packed and was very pleased with the them. I did not start wearing the trousers until May of this year and after only 4-5 wears some stitching came undone. I wrote to Lucy Cobb asking if they could help in any way and the answer I got back was very disappointing. They considered that after a maximum of 4-5 wears (and only short duration of wear when being worn) they considered it to be "wear and tear"!! and refused to send them back to the manufacturer. They suggested I go to my local dressmaker and get them mended, suggesting that it would only cost £5 !!! and that on my next purchase from them they would deduct £5 as a 'gesture of goodwill'. Very disappointed with such a response.

Lucy Cobb horrible experience

Bought 2 pairs of identical trousers from this store. One pair was marked so rang to return them and asked about P&P. I was told by the owner I would get it refunded with the trousers. (Had to send them to the mainland). I received a very rude phone call telling me that the trousers never left her like that and there was nothing she could do. She practically accused me of lying. She sent me them back, no refund for P&P and I was unable to wear them. I was very disappointed as i had used them before. Wouldn't recommend. Customer Service is atrocious.

We explained that we couldn’t refund them as we couldn’t re- sell them in the condition they were returned to us.
Unfortunately we couldn’t return them to Robell like that, sorry.

I can highly recommend Lucy Cobb. I have bought a few pairs of Robell trousers from this site. The quality and fit of these trousers is fantastic. Lucy posts some helpful videos and advice about the different styles. Parcels arrive promptly and are always beautifully packed. Very happy customer. Thank you :-)

Delighted new customer

I was very impressed with the customer service from start to end. I bought 3 pairs of Robell trousers on Friday and I needed next day delivery guaranteed on Saturday - I paid extra for the postage and they arrived on time. Trousers are great and I will be back for more. Many thanks

Couldn't be bothered the girl who…

Couldn't be bothered the girl who served me, which was a shame as I bought a couple of items and spent money. Would gladly have bought more if she could have been more engaged and willing to get stock for us to try, eigther she was having a bad day or she wasn't getting paid enough I'm not sure, but if it was my business I'd get better staff as the shop was in a busy tourist area. I will buy their designer product online next time.
