Great preparation with David for an upcoming public speaking opportunity. David provided the foundations that I can build on as my career progresses and outlined the key things to think about. From preparation to delivery learning how the best speakers deliver and understand to control the controllables. Would highly recommend for anyone ahead of their first or next public speaking opportunity.

My daughter really enjoyed the camp. She says the teachers are great.
As a parent, I like the space the teachers held for creativity, while keeping a structured approach.

We do a 2 day enterprise initiative with our Year 12 students which is run by 8BillionIdeas. The students really enjoy it and the feedback it very good. They use the skills and knowledge they acquire in the Tycoon competition.

We have been working with 8billionideas for a number of years and they have provided numerous opportunities for our students to become entrepreneurs, whilst exploring topics such as sustainability, health and wellbeing, and career literacy. They offer face to face days, online sessions and a library of online content to use when convenient for you. David and his team are adaptable and constantly evolving to keep up with the ever changing educational landscape. Our learners thoroughly enjoy the face to face courses as the facilitators are high energy and create a fun environment.

I have an 11-year-daughter who is getting a first-class education at her school here in Dubai – but frankly, doesn’t always see it that way.

I’m sure many of you have enjoyed the same dialogue on repeat play:

Me: How did school go today, hon? Learn anything new and interesting today?
Her: Nah – nothing. It was boring!

Not the day the folks from 8Billion Ideas first came to the school (given the above, I better not name it as it wouldn’t be fair on her fantastic teachers).

Here’s how we interacted that day:

Me: So (expecting the usual), how did school go today, hon? Learning anything interesting?
Her: Yes! We’re doing this fantastic project about building our own business. My team’s is called ‘Munch’. We’re baking chocolate chip cookies and combining it with blue – yes, blue – lemonade and selling it to our classmates. We’re going to make millions!
Me: Wow! So, you had to formulate a business plan and everything.
Her: Yes. Let me talk you through it (and she proceeded to do so)

Okay, so you get the picture. A seriously enthused daughter on my hands who is learning with passion stuff that will concretely help her in the future life. And yes, we’re hoping she’s going to make millions in light confectionary so the wife and I can take early retirement.

Well done, 8Billion Ideas! As others have written, you do exactly as you promise – serve up learning that augments the fundamentals that the schools deliver (English, history, maths, that stuff) with programmes that will really round off our little darlings as future-ready kids.

And the great thing is…they love doing it!

So yes, I’m actually looking forward to my next ‘home time’ exchange with my adolescent daughter.
