The kit was not as easy as advertised. The directions are not accurate. Had to email, text and call for assistance over 15 times. Some wood pieces were bent and did not fit properly. Planks did not line up, I sent multiple pictures showing all the issues. I am not satisfied with the product, but it would be to much to return so I guess 6,000 dollars was wasted. we now hope my deck is secure because the planks would not fit correctly no matter all the different ways they suggest we place them.eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I had a fantastic experience from start to finish and can highly recommend this company. The whole process was smooth, professional and stress free. Customer service was excellent, always available, even after the initial purchase and delivery. That level of support really made a difference. The delivery was also great. Everything arrived exactly as expected and in perfect condition. Most importantly, the deck looks amazing. It was fairly easy to install, being this my first ever big DIY project (never used a drill and never worked with wood before). I am extremely happy with the final results and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality products and outstanding service.

The customer service is excellent
The customer service is excellent. The product is probably really good in any region that has high humidity. I live in Colorado and our humidity on a humid day is 16%. My boards were delivered and it was about 2 weeks they sat out before i was able to get to the building stage. The deck i ordered was extremely large, 12’x56’. The beams are huge. Probably 6”x6” square. And the joists are 2x8s. Our deck required a total of 21 beams and 98 joists. At least 6 of the beams became extremely twisted and approximately 12-14 joists had to be shimmed to bring it to level before the flooring could be laid. Their method of treating the lumber only works in a higher humidity environment. Their decks are not recommended for anyone that lives in an area of 25% humidity or less.

It will take two people, but so worth it.
The communication was great during the order and shipping process. The website leaves something to be desired when trying to find help with the installation. For example, I still do not know how many screws to place on each board at each support board. I chose two because that is what other builders had placed on an older deck. I would suggest laying all of the boards on top of the foundation to get a feel for how they are to lay out. I ended up with two extra boards and used those to create a small step. The boards were cut perfectly and once we found the video instructions it was fairly easy to assemble. You will need 2 people to assemble the base, but one person can easily finish the top and skirt boards.
I also used a sealant because I live in Florida and summers are wicked.
It took quite a while to receive my kit, but they updated me quickly when I made inquiries. I have a gravel driveway. The driver chose to wait until the end of the day, to unload my crate so that he could back down my driveway and not leave it sitting on the curb. I really appreciated that. He was gracious and did the best he could to get it as close to the site as possible.
Warning: You have 24 hours to assemble your deck after it is uncrated. Make sure you have instructions and all of the other materials and people in place before doing so.
I gave it a 5-star review even with the difficulties because I am not sure the difficulties weren't all my fault.
The deck is amazing. I am loving using it. I put a protective pad under my firepit and plan on using it until it gets too hot.
12' X 12' is large enough for 4 Adirondack chairs, 2 footstools, 2 small tables and a small square firepit.

A good project that I did myself.
What made it a project that I could do myself is that everything but the box beams was pre cut and partially assembled.
The step by step instructions left very little guesswork. I think almost anyone could build from one of these kits.
The only part that took experience or knowledge before hand was leveling the locations of the footing pads.

We built a full 16x20 deck in one…
We built a full 16x20 deck in one weekend with the A DIY kit — just me, my wife, and a drill. No contractors, no measuring, no guessing. Every single piece was labeled, organized, and easy to follow.
The best part? It goes together like legos for adults. We saved thousands doing it ourselves and actually enjoyed the process. Well… most of it. These kinds of projects definitely test your marriage 🤣🤣
The instructions were clear, the kit was complete, and the results look like something we waited months for… but we built it ourselves. I’ve never seen a DIY product this well thought out and user-friendly. If you want a deck fast and don’t want to deal with contractors, this is it.
We are blown away. Thank you for giving us our favorite space in our new home.

Was a fun project
Was a fun project! I'm no carpenter by any means! I've always wanted a deck for my small backyard but 10s of thousands of dollars will never be in my budget. My 93 year old Grandmother stays with me and now she can walk comfortably out the back door and enjoy outside gathering. My friend and I put it up in a day and a half. We raised it from its designed height and built steps. Everything was in the neatly organized crate!! I didn't saw a single board! My friend and I had fun and my Grandma was over the moon. Just need Deck railing and possibly a pergola. The price was right!!

It comes together
The quality of the material was not compromised and customer service stepped up for a few pcs. that were damaged but what they lack is 'instructions'. It comes together, but 'Legos' it's not. If it came with a diagram noting what goes where it would be a lot better. Instead, bundles of composite are dropped off in front of your home and there are loads of 'ummmms' going forward. Would I still recommended....yes but with warnings.

Precut lumber is amazing makes for fast…
Precut lumber is amazing makes for fast assembly. But some parts you can tell were cut on different saws (area) when pulling together they don’t match up. Decking boards should be cleaner no marks, and as for the instructions I built in the mountains with no cell service. 1 2x6 missing but extra deck boards.

Easy to work with
The staff were responsive, helpful and easy to deal with. The deck kit arrived very quickly and included everything needed. The only instructions was video with images only. At least the deck was color coded to the video. Some written instructions mailed with the deck would be useful. My kit included railings and stairs with no instructions at all. I had asked for stairs that were to include two steps for a total of three steps down to the ground due to our age. They had two step but the first step was only an inch from the deck boards. We will have to rebuild them to make them usable for us.

Just finished building our 16x20 deck…
Just finished building our 16x20 deck and I couldn’t be happier with the experience from start to finish. Everything we needed came in the kit, even the bit for the impact driver. The only thing we had to supply was the screw gun or impact driver itself. The deck turned out solid and all of the wood arrived in excellent condition. Honestly, if I had tried to build a deck like this completely from scratch, I probably would’ve given up and burned the lumber in a bonfire. This DIY kit made the whole process possible, and I’m not exaggerating when I say I couldn’t have done it without A-DIY, my fiancé and I have zero building skills and we were able to do it so if you even have no knowledge on what you’re doing like did you can do it.
