Fabulous service from Julie at Ableworld in Wigan
I took my sister to Ableworld in Wigan to purchase a mobility scooter and wheelchair.
We were served by Julie who was absolutely fantastic. She explained everything very simply and showed us what to do etc. she made the whole experience very positive and her knowledge was brilliant.
My sister felt very supported and came away feeling very confident about how to use the scooter.
Can’t thank Julie enough for her help, patience and understanding.

Very pleased with call out.
I needed an emergency visit which was arranged very quickly, to suit me. The stairlift was sorted very quickly and efficiently. Making it possible for my mum to be able to come downstairs and make her appointment!!
Indy the engineer was friendly, informative and helpful.

They supplied and fitted 3 tubeless…
They supplied and fitted 3 tubeless tyres to my vector sport scooter each time I, was charged a different amount without good reason, also my tyres deflated on the exact same tyre and wheel each time, know I’ve asked for a full refund they have refused. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ABLEWORLD AS THEY ARE A CON.

Affordable mobility at Reading Ableworld.
I wished to purchase a folding mobility scooter. I was greeted by Abdul who listened to my requirements and showed me some options. He demonstrated one model and encouraged me to have a go, which was great fun. I decided to buy that model. This process was carried out smoothly with explanations where necessary. Overall, a good experience. The model purchased, I think, was good value for money.

We had a wonderful experience at the Reading store whilst researching mobility scooters. Abdul listened to what we wanted, gave us a good choice of units with plenty of advice. We ended up very happy with our purchase.

This is the worst company we’ve ever…
This is the worst company we’ve ever known for after care service.
I purchased a power chair last year after a spell in hospital. After a couple of weeks the motor seized up whilst on a day out with family. Initially was offered a repair which they said would take 6 weeks, later when I was contacted by repaired department, I was told they would not take the chair IN until six weeks time! hence was a lot longer than initially stated.
I returned to thatcham branch and said this was unacceptable, the manager there, who was really helpful, managed to persuade his manager to give us a replacement.
I was on holiday about five weeks later and the second brand-new chair Seized up. This time the head office flatly refused to give me an exchange or refund and would only repair. They never took into consideration.
the inconvenience and effect on my mental health of not being able to get out the house, which is obviously what I bought it for.
It turned our “relaxing” holiday into a nightmare.
Now the £1,400 chair, sits hardly used as I don’t trust that it will not let me down again.
In the meantime, before I lost faith in the company, I, regrettably, recommended them to my father-in-law, who is in his 90th year, he purchased a recliner chair. After a few weeks, it developed a very worrying noise when in operation.
They came out and replaced the motor.
After a couple of days, the noise started again.
Also, the arm of the chair has collapsed in on itself, so he’s unable to rest his arm and it makes it very uncomfortable.
He is now awaiting another visit from a repair man in two weeks time.
Again he has lost faith in this chair and the company. We hope they will do the honourable thing and let him have an exchange or refund, we don’t hold out much hope as once they’ve made a sale, they seem to wash there hands of responsibility to their customers.
For a company that is aimed at the elderly & disabled, their head office don’t seem to have any empathy or consideration for their customers.

Absolutely excellent service from…
Absolutely excellent service from beginning to end! A very professional, friendly technician came on a Friday to give us a quote; we ordered on Monday and the same person came on Wednesday to install the stairlift! We really cannot fault the service and the stairlift is easy to use. The price was far more reasonable than we'd expected. We definitely recommend Ableworld.

Abdul (Reading) was excellent when I…
Abdul (Reading) was excellent when I was looking for a riser recliner chair for my father. A fantastic range to try out and chairs in stock which were delivered to my parents the same day. Abdul facilitated a demo by whats app video call so my parents could be fully involved in the discussion. It meant helping my father to bed that very evening was a lot safer and has removed dangers of falls from getting up feom an old sofa. Full care taken to fit to my father's needs. Thank you.

Don’t waste your money - Substandard Materials
Don’t waste your money. Substandard products. We bought a Mobility Scooter and after 10 months use, both batteries have failed and have to be replaced at a cost of over £300. We have a scooter from another firm that is still on the same batteries and has been running for 16 years. Cheap suppliers, using cheap products. Save your self the stress and shop elsewhere.

Visited the store with my mother today to buy a wheelchair and Martin went above and beyond in helping us choose the right one. I purchased Batteries
I purchased 2 new batteries from Ableworld in shinfield Reading for my scooter and thay fitted them at the i was not told any thing about the problems i mite have with the batteries in the future even thouth thay could see the make of the scooter,As usual it all comes down to the small print so thay do not have to pay compensation well done ABLWWORLD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dual motor rise and recline chair
My dad purchased a brown rise and recliner chair and we were told we could have it within 5 days. We paid for the chair and left the shop. I later recieved a call from the assistant Abdul, and was told l cannot have the chair until well into January, but l could have the demonstration model ( which l didn't want, for obvious reasons) So my father reluctantly chose another chair, l left 3 messages for the someone to call me back so l could order this other chair...only to be told we couldn't have that one until late December. Obviously l was not happy with how the order had been handled so l asked for a refund, that was last Thursday and l have left message for someone to call me and no one has bothered, l have just managed to get hold of a nice lady at head office this morning and was told that it still hasn't been processed. I am so annoyed with the company. They were dishonest about when l could have the chair and once they had my money they really were not bothered, the customer service is appalling and l will not recommend this company to anyone.

We wanted to take a look into this further for you with our Reading store Manager. At the time of interest, the brown Adlington chair was in stock with our supplier. When ordering the chair for you unfortunately our supplier no longer had stock of this chair in the colour you requested. Abdul then phoned you to discuss options with you. As we had a brand new chair in store which was a week old, Abdul said you can have that one which you accepted with discount off. Our store manager then took this chair off the shop floor for you to keep it in perfect condition for when you wanted to collect the chair. Abdul was then waiting to receive a message from you to confirm you were happy with this and unfortunately didn't receive this from you. When you asked for a refund we issued this straight away in the best way for you. We feel that we did our upmost to help after the stock issue arose, so are saddened to hear you felt appalled by the service. Stair lift Survey and Installation
Excellent service from the Survey to installation and testing. Reasonable cost too. Very friendly service and explained everything about the survey and generated a 3d model on the spot of how the finish product would look like when installed. Lead time was only 3 weeks and fitting took 5 hours. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for stairlifts etc.
