Huge Star wars Auction!!

We as a family are extremely happy with how we have been helped by Adam Partridge Auctioneers. Emmeline was so lovely and advised really well on our whole Star Wars room. We obviously could have sold the many items ourselves and without doubt would have raised more funds. But after losing My Husband we were really greatful for Emmelines assistance, who advised how the auction process worked and explained about how most of the items would only fetch a basic auction price . I can wholeheartedly recommend the auction process and commend every member of staff we have dealt with, who has been so kind and informative. Many thanks to you all, for your help in our darkest hour!

A satisfied customer at an auction house.

Making contact with the Ruislip branch of Adam Partridge for the first time proved to be helpful and rewarding. I found that the Office Manager put me at ease and I was able to negotiate on the purchase of an item that had failed to sell at auction. After purchase, I was kept informed of delivery arrangements and the item was carefully packed. My experience of this auction house was excellent and I now own a really nice piece that I am proud of.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience.

I contacted the auction house regarding a limited-edition artwork that originally cost £4,000 and of which only three were ever produced. Rather than receiving any meaningful advice, I was dismissively told to "stick it on Marketplace." For a business that specialises in valuing and selling art and collectibles, I found this response both incredibly patronising and unprofessional from Chris.

I replied to explain the significance and provenance of the piece and hoped for a more considered assessment, but never received any further response. The complete lack of follow-up only added to the frustration.

Whether or not the artwork was suitable for their auction, I would have expected a courteous explanation and a level of customer service that reflected the nature of the item. Instead, I was left feeling brushed off and undervalued as a potential client.

A very disappointing experience that fell far below the professionalism I expected.

Dishonourable. Sold fake. Refuse refund

Bought a Beatles ‘signed’ single at auction
Turns out, with all the evidence from authorities, that it is a fake. They also auctioned an almost exact replica, same frame, same mount, same single, same vendor (knowing the doubt regarding the veracity of this vendor)
Sent from pillar to post, long delays in communication, to be told they were reusing to refund
They, and crook end, up with my money, while I end up with a valueless piece of plastic
Lack of honour and decency

We are sorry to read your review.
We take concerns regarding authenticity very seriously and have reviewed this matter in detail.
The lot was presented for auction on the 18th September 2025 with a condition report available to prospective bidders prior to bidding, which included that buyers should satisfy themselves as to the item before purchasing. This information was available as part of the pre-auction process.
When you attended the saleroom to collect the item on the 22nd September, you were given the option to decline the purchase following your inspection of the lot. You inspected the item and confirmed that you were willing to proceed with that purchase.
We have acted transparently throughout the process and provided the relevant information available to us at the time of sale. After a full review of the circumstances, and due to the length of time since the auction, we are unable to offer a rescission of the sale or a refund on this occasion.

I am very happy with the service i received from Alan Partridge Auctioneers, the service was professional and friendly and i was kept well informed throughout the whole process. i would not hesitate to use them again and would certainly reccomend.

My contact at Adam Partridge in Liverpool was extremely helpful and friendly with a happy disposition.
She is extremely hard working, contentious and has a great knowledge of antiques. I was very confident that the best price would be obtained for my items.

Thank You Emmeline!

This was the second occasion I met Emmeline from the Liverpool Auction House at Wallasey Village Library for free valuations. I first met her last October at the same venue. Emmeline came to my house and gave me an honest opinion and fair valuation which came to fruition at the subsequent auctions. I am most grateful to her. She is absolutely charming with everyone and very knowledgeable, and it was lovely to meet Cath too.

I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Adam was truly remarkable; I found him to be incredibly understanding, courteous, efficient and approachable. Always replying promptly and politely with care and excellent advice. He was generous with his time and knowledge and at no point did I feel under any pressure or obligation. I genuinely believe that Adam has a great level of knowledge, skill and experience and wants the best for the individual and also for the item. I would not hesitate to recommend his services and will definitely use his company for all future valuations and sales. Thank you very much Adam.

An auctioneer you can trust

I have been downsizing for some time, and taking my antiques, collectables and jewellery to Steven Parkinson at the Preston Office was a very wise decision on my part. He is always a pleasure to deal with. I value him for his knowledge and experience, and also for his clear guidance as to what will and will not sell in an auction environment. This means that the things I have taken to him did sell, for prices which were more than acceptable to me, and some did very well. I have watched the auctions live and they do their best to sell every item, and sadly that cannot be said of all auctioneers. The paperwork is clear and straightforward. I will continue to trust Steven and Adam Partridge as I continue with my downsizing.

Excellent service from the team

Excellent service from the team. Emails quickly answered, information on my sales prompt and correct. Special thanks to Niall who we met on a valuation day and came to give us an evaluation . Very experienced and auction went ahead. With mostly good priced reached.

Extremely satisfied customer

I had an excellent experience with Adam Partridge Auctioneers from our first meeting right through to receiving funds for my items. The staff were extremely helpful and their expertise was gratefully received. I will definitely be using them again and have recommended them tp friends and family. Thank you very much.

Appalling attitude

Appalling attitude. Apparently now requires separate proof of identity when buying - even when buying through the Saleroom.com where they have already confirmed identity and hold debit card details. They won't actually tell you this of course, they just leave you hanging with 'Pending' on your bids. If you eventually query this with them they will send you a very patronising email that basically tells you to get lost if you don't like it. There are hundreds of more professional auction houses out there - so I would just leave this guy to the telly if I were you.

As part of our company policy, we require identification from all bidders before they can participate in our auctions. This policy is applied consistently to every client without exception — including our directors and staff members when bidding.

While you may have provided card details or completed verification with The Saleroom, as a third-party auction house we do not have access to that information. We are therefore required to carry out our own verification checks independently.

Providing ID or proof of address allows us to confirm that bidders are genuine and traceable, helping to prevent impersonation and maintain a clear audit trail. These safeguards are in place to protect both our customers and our business, and are becoming increasingly standard practice across auction houses.

If you would prefer not to provide photo ID, we are happy to accept a utility bill dated within the last three months as an alternative, which fully satisfies our requirements.

We do appreciate that additional checks can feel inconvenient, particularly if you have bid at auction previously. However, these measures are applied consistently and are not intended as a reflection on any individual.

I had some items to sell and went to a session at our local library

I had some items to sell and went to a valuation session at our local library and met Emmeline, who was very friendly and helpful. I received an e-mail informing me when my items would be auctioned and given the lot numbers and a link to the auction, so that my daughter and I could watch it live. It was very interesting and exciting and we were very pleased with the outcome. The amount of commission taken was quite reasonable and we received the balance about a month after the auction.
All in all, it was a very happy experience and I would have no hesitation in selling any other items with Adam Partridge in Liverpool.

Customer service is not a priority for…

Customer service is not a priority for this company. Why hold a pre-christmas auction over a week before Christmas, and then close the following day for a 17 day Christmas holiday making it impossible for purchasers to collect lots until the New Year despite customers having bought items as Christmas gifts - surely any reasonable company would keep their offices open until the 23rd of December for collections, or at least have highlighted on their website and auction listings that collection of items wasn't possible until the New Year. Similarly beware of the buyers premium, on the Adam Partridge website additional charges are listed as 30% on the listings, however there is an additional 2.4% charge for bidding through their website which isn't clearly identified. All told they're not a company that I'm impressed with having dealt with, and feel that they do not prioritise customer service.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience and apologise for the frustration caused by the London Saleroom being closed following the auction.

The Christmas closure period and collection dates were outlined within the auction details and important information prior to bidding, however we appreciate that this may not have been as prominent as it could have been. We understand how disappointing this would have been, particularly where items were purchased as Christmas gifts.

With regard to charges, the buyer’s premium and the additional live bidding surcharge are confirmed on our website, and again at the point of registration within the terms and conditions, which bidders are required to agree to before placing bids.

That said, we do take your comments seriously and will use this feedback to review how clearly this information is presented in future, as well as considering auction scheduling to better allow for collections ahead of holiday closures.

Thank you again for your feedback — it is appreciated and helps us to improve the service we provide.

Bureaucracy to gladden the heart of a…

Bureaucracy to gladden the heart of a French civil servant. All I wanted was a quote to pack and post two small items. They could have provided a tick box for this on the invoice. Instead I had to spend 3/4 of an hour trying to find a particular form and then lose patience because about the only thing they didn't require was my shoe size.
I have lost interest and they won't even offer them for resale because the items are too low value - why did you offer them in the first place.
UPDATE
As well as the response below the company has reached out to me by e-mail.
I am still of the opinion that their on line forms are too obscure and unnecessarily bureaucratic.
I note that someone has complained about the charges for postage and packaging. I can only comment that the charges made in this case were very much what I expected them to be before making my bid.

We are sorry to hear that you found the postage request process frustrating. For clarity, the link to our postage request form is clearly signposted within the payment confirmation email which was issued to you on the 15th December, and is intended to be straightforward to access and complete.

When you advised that you found completing the form to be difficult, we manually submitted the postage request on your behalf on 16th December in order to resolve the matter as efficiently as possible. The resulting shipping quotation was sent to you yesterday, without requiring any further action from you.

With regard to resale, unfortunately, items selling below £100 do not meet the threshold for being re-offered, which is why this option was not available on this occasion.

If payment for the postage is made today, we will be able to despatch the items before we close for the holiday period, allowing delivery ahead of Christmas.

We regret that, despite our efforts to assist and accommodate, this was not reflected in your experience.
