I found Advisors Portugal while researching Golden Visa funds. The depth of data provided by their consultant was noticeably different from the generic shortlists you find everywhere else. Booked a call mostly to test them. My advisor flagged the PFIC issue in the first fifteen minutes, which no other firm I'd spoken to had raised at all. As someone with a SEP-IRA that completely changed how I was thinking about fund selection. We're still working through the shortlist but the process has been methodical and honest. No pressure, no preferred funds being pushed. Exactly what I was hoping to find.

My financial advisor suggested looking into residency-by-investment but couldn’t really help beyond that. I found Advisors Portugal while researching the U.S. tax side and ended up going down a pretty deep rabbit hole with their content. It was much more detailed than most of what I found online.

I went into the call expecting a sales pitch, but it was actually the opposite. My advisor spent a good amount of time explaining how a 401(k) rollover could interact with PFIC rules before we even talked about which funds to look at. That was a big deal for me.

I had also been considering Spain and Greece, but after comparing everything, Portugal made the most sense for what I was looking for. Having one person to deal with throughout the process has made things pretty easy. So far, the whole process has been straightforward and I’ve been happy with the experience.

Spent a few weeks comparing agencies before I booked with Advisors Portugal. What tipped me was the no advisory fee model, end to end service package and the fact they cover all 80+ funds rather than a curated list of whoever's paying for placement. Had two calls with my advisor going back and forth between the fund and donation routes. Ended up going with a PE fund. The law firm was responsive and the coordination between them and my advisor was seamless - I never had to repeat myself or chase anyone. Application submitted. Very solid experience all around.
