The group of people I travelled with, the places we visited, with the exception of Panarea and Stromboli islands, were most interesting, and the periods of 'My Time' were much appreciated. Our Tour Director, Misia, was most knowledgeable as were the local guides in various towns. We could have had at least one extra day in Valletta as there was so much to see.

I loved the choice of Itinerary...the places we visited were amazing. I also appreciated the fact that we stayed more than 1 night in all the towns where we had accommodation. The accommodation choices were superb from Castlebrando perched high up on a hill, to a beautiful waterfront hotel in Stresa and the divine white palace on the Amalfi coast...the list goes on. Our tours with local guides and meals were also first class. ALBATROSS TOURS will always be my choice.

First time in Europe & this was a grrat first experience travelling with Darren & Yassin. They were perfect hosts and opened my eyes to magnificent Spain & Portugal.
Full days of exploring & learning was balnced with enjoying the sights, food & customs of the locals.
Even those fellow experienced travellers commented on how good Darren, Yassin & the tour structure was - so I feel privileged to have had this life changing experience.

Great tour leader who bent over backwards to make our whole day as pleasant and as smooth as possible. She was so “on the ball” with every little detail.
Our bus driver who squeezed his way perfectly in the hardest of streets/ lanes.
The tour was so much better than we expected with so much included, we were amazed.
Loved each new place we went to and all the hotels we stayed in.
Would go again in a heartbeat and highly recommended.

Enjoyable trip. The guide (Gilberto) and The driver (Massimiliano) were excellent.
Accommodation and breakfast at Villa Margherita were suboptimal. They seemed not ready to receive guests (I think we were the first lot of guests, after the winter closure). The next hotel (Aemilia Hotel, Bologna) was excellent, the others were good to very good.

Very inclusive tour, with a great group of travelers and a fantastic tour guide, Helen Sheehan, and a fantastic coach driver, Fabio.

Our whole Alpine tour was organised very smoothly. We had a fantastic Guide/Tour Manager in Ernst who was very knowledgable in events and history of the different places we visited. It is a tour which should be on your bucket list.

On our tour of Spain our guide Darren was the best tour guide I have been with. He looked after us, kept us up to date where we where going and was most informative.

Tour was very well organised, led by a great guide who was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and considerate. All accomodation was of a very high standard in excellent locations. I would happily travel with Albatross Tours in future and highly recommend t(em based on my experience.

The recent 18-day tour around Spain and Portugal was most enjoyable with our group of 25 proving to be friendly and fun. Our Tour Manager, Darren, was excellent and our coach driver, Yassin, was most competent - we were looked after very well by these friendly professionals. I was impressed by the interesting itinerary, the variety of local attractions and historical sites we visited, and also enjoyed the tour pace, which provided a good balance between sightseeing and free time to explore on our own. The hotels were great, and the included meals were generally good. I hope to enjoy another Albatross tour sometime in the future!

Some absolutely fabulous destinations and some not so!

4 nights accommodation in Chianciano Terme was terrible, whilst the hotel itself was lovely including all of the historical art the location doesn't really lend itself to any 'My Time' as it's too far from anywhere!

Everything else was spot on.

On the whole, it was an enjoyable experience. Our tour leader Ernst was knowledgeable and helpful. The scenery was spectacular and I had some wonderful experiences on the tour. Included meals were mostly very good. The Lake Brienze tour was a bit disappointing; boat was packed. Chur was a waste of time and Klosters doesn't offer much; St Moritz would be a better option. It's a pity the tour doesn't spend any time in Milan.

Italy Off the beaten track June/July 2025

The tour Manager & bus driver were fantastic! The longer stays are essential to discover the destination. Some Hôtel stays weren’t to our liking & then some were . I would have loved to have had longer to experience the Camargue area where the salt flats & the flamingo’s live as we only drove past ! We visited two towns in this area only briefly.

This was a Sicilian and Maltese tour.
The food was delicious and sometimes too plentiful.
We had on most days time to rest or explore further.
Well organised and perhaps sometimes a little over-regulated.
Great people. I guess we were lucky there.
Accommodation in general excellent.

Helen Sheehan our guide was fantastic. Heaps of knowledge, efficient, extremely organized, everything a tour group requires. She was excellent in attending to a person's special needs making sure everyone was comfortable and enjoyed themselves.
For Concetto (Jack) & myself Colleen, this is the 4th Albatross Tour we have done & we finished the tour realizing 2 things: Never travel to Europe in June, July & August (too hot) & we won't do a big city tour again i.e. Florence & Venice. Too busy & too hot. Deep South, Ireland and Spain & Portugal were all much more enjoyable for us.
The only negative with The Italian Grande trip was the arranged tour in Florence. We felt as did others that the guide concentrated solely on the history of Michael Angelo & Leonardi di Vinci & those that have not been to Florence before didn't get a chance to see anything else i.e. Ponte de Vecchio Bridge which in itself is an icon of Florence.

This was our first trip overseas further than Australia. Helen, our tour guide was always clear with when and where we needed to be. She was helpful and kind to anyone needing help on a personal level.
The tour had so much to do and see, Helen provided us with a wealth of knowledge. We enjoyed being able to be in one place for up to 5 days.
The coach was spacious and extremely comfortable, Fabio was an amazing driver, so skilled and professional.

A wonderful small group tour through Sicily, Malta and Aeolian Islands . Staying at small boutique hotels with personal service
