Forced to issue County Court proceedings to recover my refund
I would strongly advise anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from Alsons Group Ltd / Alisons Automotive Group to proceed with extreme caution.
I purchased a Porsche Cayenne GTS from this dealership in February 2026 for over £27,000. Within 2 days of purchase, the vehicle developed a serious mechanical fault which was independently inspected by a Porsche specialist.
I exercised my statutory short-term right to reject the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 within the required timeframe and returned the vehicle at my own expense. Despite this, the dealership failed to issue a refund and instead attempted to impose unlawful deductions, including a £1 + VAT per mile usage charge.
What has been most disappointing throughout this process is the complete lack of accountability, communication, and respect for consumer rights. I repeatedly attempted to resolve matters amicably over several weeks and even offered settlement opportunities to avoid legal escalation. Refunds were repeatedly delayed, and at one stage I was informed by phone that payment would not be made.
To make matters worse, the vehicle was placed back on sale shortly after being returned, while my refund still remained unpaid.
As a result, I have now been forced to issue County Court proceedings against the company in order to recover my money, court fees, and interest.
Buying a vehicle should be an exciting experience, not a stressful legal dispute. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this dealership and would urge potential buyers to carefully consider the risks before purchasing from them.

I bought a vehicle from Allison…
I bought a vehicle from Allison Automotive Group and within 4 weeks it developed serious faults and had to go back into the garage. The car has now been with them for over 40 days and I still have not received it back.
Communication has been extremely poor throughout. I’ve had little to no updates unless I chased them myself, no clear completion date, and no offer of compensation or even a courtesy car despite being without my vehicle for well over a month.
The diagnostic report showed issues relating mainly to the turbo/wastegate system, yet the repair process has dragged on far beyond what I would consider reasonable. As a customer, being left without a car for this long after only owning it for a few weeks is completely unacceptable.
I understand repairs can take time, but customers deserve transparency, updates, and proper support when problems arise. Unfortunately, my experience with Allison Automotive Group has been frustrating, stressful, and deeply disappointing.
I would strongly advise others to think carefully before purchasing from this dealership.

For me I liked how when we arrived on the forecourt we weren’t pounced upon and followed around, this gave us chance to look at the cars until we approached them.
my son and i approached Lia and found her very welcoming. she was honest and more importantly not at all pushy which I hate in a car sales person and would immediately put me off! This was the most pleasant and stress free buying car experience I've had due to Lia and the fast turnaround sorting my sons new car out and to put such a smile on his face said it all to the service we got. This dealer is awful . The cars are at best polished turds and the managers are liars and conmen that don’t care other than getting money .
The cars are poor but they sell at top price the paperwork like Mot must be fake . How can a mot be given with so many obvious faults .

Was very interested in one of their cars but as I lived a fair distance away didn’t want to drive to see the car without knowing the service history so I called them up I had to call them 4 times over a week and a half for anybody to get the paperwork when I finally did the person was very rude would not buy from them

If I could give no stars I would, to start with after talking on the phone and arranging to come a view car, paid a deposit to reserve it, went to pay with credit card no don't take them, would have thought they'd have mentioned that in all the phone calls they had had with other half. Phoned bank takes 24 hours to set up bank transfer as we don't do online banking. Managed to phone daughter and she done a transfer for us, went to pay the rest with cash, they then told us there is a 2% charge for cash, we had a moan about that, fair enough they squashed the 2%. Then when all payment sorted they went to hand over paperwork OMG no V5, really! Because of this they said we will pay the £25 and send off for it for you, because of this we will have to tax it for you you just need to fill on a DD form. which is annoying because we always pay all at once. Fast forward 4 weeks still no V 5 this is costing us money each day to park Car as we are a permit parking Zone and without V5 we cannot purchase a yearly permit. Phoned DVLA the said there was no request for a V5 for our car it was still registered to dealership. Phone Alisons got the it takes 4 - 6 weeks . Advised him I had checked with DVLA and there was no request there. He said I will check with Admin to see when it was sent and get back to you. Obviously that never happened. Fast forward another 2 weeks this now takes us to just over 6 weeks. I phoned Alisons had a go he said it was being processed at the end of March!! We purchased car 28th Feb. This was now end of April beginning May. Phoned DVLA they checked again no V62 anywhere in building to ask for new V5 to be issued, they advised me to get a form and send off myself. So now I am fuming, I phoned Alisons I was put on hold for 3mins when the man finally came on phone I said to him that the company is a joke and he has done nothing but lie to me, he said I have just spoken to DVLA and it's being sorted. I then said to him well that was quick because I was on hold for 20 mins to talk to someone because they were busy, you've managed to do it in 3 mins. I told them I shall be sending off the V62 form my self and requested the £25 it cost to do so. (Don't expect to see that) he said don't do that because it will hold everything up. I told him once again it was a disgusting firm and after sales was terrible. Phoned DVLA told them he what he said and that he just phoned them, she said there is no logged call from them and no matter what he said she advised me to send form. I filled in form took it to post office to get PO and enclosed a letter about the company and the fact they hadn't notified them about sale. I did actually say it was a matter of urgency as by now we had paid 7 weeks of daily permit parking. Guess what 1 week later the V5 arrived. So don't trust this firm to tell you the truth.

Lia provided excellent customer service from start to finish. She was attentive without being rushy, giving me time to consider everything while still keeping things moving smoothly. Her friendly approach immediately put me at ease, and it was clear she had strong knowledge of the product and process. Lia listened carefully, understood what I needed, and offered helpful suggestions without any pressure. Everything was handled professionally and efficiently, making the whole experience straightforward and enjoyable. It’s rare to come across someone so approachable yet organised. I would happily deal with Lia again and would recommend her to anyone looking for reliable, supportive service.
Worst Dealership in the UK?
Sold me a dodgy car which I bought in December and broke down in February. Terrible manipulative individuals, avoid at all costs.

Ben has excellent customer service skills. He went above and beyond to help me out, I had no car, so he came a long way to pick me up, his boss enabled him to do that, which made my day. The car is fantastic to drive, a good price and I'm really happy. Thank you Ben, enjoy Japan!

Alison's automotive were very friendly and sorted my car out as quick as they could as I needed a car although I've had minor issues they've sorted them out as quick as they could, I was dealing with lia who helped me out and was very friendly and helpful, overall good company and cars in there are genuine in good condition, finance was sorted very quick also which is a bonus. They found the problem and resolved it within 24 hours. Collin informed me what was wrong and made sure the car was road tested before I collected. Can’t fault the customer service and would happily buy from these guys again!
