I give Alpine Gold Exchange Five Stars. They are a very honest company. They have walked me through their website and also are holding my Gold Backs for free. They also keep me posted on what is new. Everyone I have spoken to are very helpful and friendly and are willing to take the time to help me. They have also helped me save money, when buying anything. Today I spoke with Robin and she even helped me be informed when they are adding new states, so I can have the opportunity to buy them in the future. Thank you

(See update) Something has gone wrong at Alpine

Update 1: I was recently contacted by Alpine and informed that there was an error in their software system that caused my un-lease period to show as 90 days instead of 60.

They have committed to correcting the error and have manually un-leased my goldbacks a month ahead of schedule, so after 30 days instead of 60.

I have added two stars to my original two-star review, totalling four. I hope to have reason to add a fifth and final star in my future dealings with the company.

Original post: After having been a customer here for some time with no issues ever, two things have gone wrong -- one of them, very wrong -- within just the last month.

First wrong: about a month ago when using my online account, I un-leased a number of goldbacks and realized about 60 minutes later that I had miscalculated and should have un-leased a different number. Wondering if the Alpine Gold staff might be willing and able to alter my numerical selection, I phoned. No one ever answered but, my mistake -- it was Good Friday and they were listed as closed.

So I called the next day during their listed Saturday hours, but no one ever answered that day, either. It was not a holiday.

By the time I got someone on the phone the following Monday, a man named John (whose callback number is based in New Hampshire, not Utah) informed me that Alpine would be unwilling to alter the un-leased amount.

Okay. So they were unwilling to make an exception to accommodate a customer's mistake. I am not pleased, but I see that they're within their rights here.

The next wrong, however, seems to be a substantial breach of contract:

Anyone who leased goldbacks over the past years will know that the agreement was that, after un-leasing, the goldbacks would be available to the customer in 60 days.

I un-leased on April 18th, meaning that the goldbacks should become available to me on June 17th. However, my online account says they won't be available until July 17th, which is 90 days later.

This is a problem for me, as I've planned other financial events around the agreed-upon 60 days.

A family member who had the same thing happen to his un-leased goldbacks called Alpine and spoke with this John again, who informed my family member that there are some kind of corporate changes going on at Alpine and un-lease dates are somehow being extended beyond the 60 days. This was done without our knowledge or consent, and apparently in breach of contract. John said he'd keep looking into it for us, but we haven't heard from him since last week.

This is obviously a current and ongoing problem. I would be very pleased to report back with a resolution if such is forthcoming.

Outstanding company

UPMA/Alpine Gold Exchange is a pioneer in getting precious metals restored to being treated again as real money rather than a tradeable asset. They offer a fabulous service, are 100% reputable, and are excellent at protecting client holdings. Have been a client for years.

Put in an order everything was fine, money moved from my visa, suddenly months later nothing comes in, look into it, they say the payment cancelled.

Hello Robert, We take payment processing very seriously and are saddened you had a less-than-satisfactory experience. After a thorough review, we found that automated emails were sent to your email address informing you about the cancellation. We also found two direct emails from our customer service team informing you about the cancelled nature of your order. Our team attempted to support you through this process with guidance on which data points our insurance software wouldn't support. We use transaction insurance on all payments, and after they refused to insure the payment, our system automatically canceled the payment and refunded your order in February. It often takes several business days for the funds to be returned to the method of payment that was used. Rest assured, our systems are functioning and sound. We apologize for the inconvenience, and still want to offer you 2 free Goldbacks if payment can be sorted out. Thank you for your patience and we hope to do business again soon.

Rude supervisor, Ashley, extension 0015, repeatedly raising her voice, cutting off the conversation of the customer, and continuing to repeatedly explain the process of transacting over the phone and computer, as if the customer never placed an order, insulting the customer, made a substantial order for a holiday gift to family, and because of the rudeness of this supervisor, cancelled the order and now have to search elsewhere

Great experiences…

Completely positive experience with Alpine Gold. My wife and were I able to walk into a branch a few months ago and someone sat down with us and patiently educated us on precious metals and goldbacks. They have a very friendly, helpful and believing culture. By that I mean that everyone I have dealt with seems all in on the vision of sound money and a system for making it easier to use. I recommend Alpine Gold and the UPMA as THE place to invest in precious metals. The tech support was very good to me as well this last week when I had a snag with my account.

What's not to like

What's not to like? I began to invest in goldbacks about 9 months ago and the value of that investment has increased by 20%. During that time, the value of the dollar has lost about 10%. So that works out to a 10% increase in actual value.
On top of that, Alpine Gold will direct deposit any USD withdrawal to my bank in a couple of days.

GLORIOUS! BETTER Than a Bank!

WHY save in common-use U.S.D. when you can save in gold & silver U.S.D. that's equally legal-tender (& GoldBacks)? Since early-2020, I've enjoyed saving my buying-power in precious metals. Sadly, it only took me late-2022 to realize taking advantage of the specific Gold Eagle:Silver Eagle Ratio (as opposed to the more general G.S.R.). (😖 I swear, I'm smart: I have a degree! 🤣) Still, I've made-up for lost time and grown my savings significantly, especially given the appreciation of GoldBacks. (I got a number of them when they were still $3/each! 😆)

The Visa® is also pretty useful, though the limits can be… well, limiting: $5k limit on the card, with $1k spend-able or withdraw-able per day.

Converting currencies are now so much more convenient, now that they're automated. Chatting with personnel was awesome, but the new method is far more efficient, accessible any time, and less prone to misunderstandings from different people's differing word-choices.

Also, kudos on work further developing a method of metal-backed electronic-payments! May it succeed and be more widespread! 🙏

Thank you, Alpine Gold Exchange (Alpine Gold) & the United Precious Metals Association (U.P.M.A.)! At "best", my savings should be "growing" slowly in a bank… while the buying-power they're supposed to represent would shrink! I can only wish I joined much sooner.

I was first introduced to Goldbacks and…

I was first introduced to Goldbacks and Alpine Gold Exchange in 2023. It wasn't until last winter that I started making purchases with Alpine Gold Exchange. The purchase and selection process online was pretty easy and delivery was quick with efficient secure packaging. The Goldbacks have very intricate detail specific to the designated state. The thin tough polymer coating is durable and inspires usability.

Sound and safe money

I found UPMA / Alpine Gold back in 2021 while looking into Goldbacks. I found they have been leading the way to make gold and silver legal tender again, as it should be for our Constitutional Republic. It's a great way to keep your cash out of the banking system. They are constantly looking at ways to improve the system they've created.

Alpine makes it simple to purchase…

Alpine makes it simple to purchase SMALL amounts of actual GOLD in a beautiful package... the Goldback notes are absolutely stunning.
Everyone I show them to LOVE the look of the notes and I have sent dozens of people to their direct website so they can save a few $$ instead of buying at one of those big dealers that charge a HUGE premium. My local coin dealers does not carry them so when I found out Alpine sells directly to consumers I was all over it.
My order arrived quickly in discreet packaging and packed well enough that it wouldn't get bent/damaged.
I will buy as often as I am able.
