Considering the stress of divorce (and buying/selling houses) They were the least of the problems. Very pleased with the efficient value for money service Amicable provided.

Emma made it easy

A structured process that allows you to progress from 'know nothing about divorce' to 'consent order that will get approved by the courts'. In our case, even though we agreed on most things, there was still a lot to discuss and we valued the non-confrontational methodology and calm approach of our divorce specialist Laura. Having been married 18 years we of course had a lot of emotional baggage even though this was an 'amicable' divorce. We benefited from a separate course of intensive couples therapy (arranged by ourselves but I believe you can investigate through Amicable as well). The benefit of doing this parallel couples psychotherapy is that we offloaded our emotional baggage with the therapist, leaving our heads clear to engage fully with Laura and to focus on our children and our future finances. For us, this service saved us a lot of money and heartache. We submitted our divorce via the gov.uk portal in mid December 24 and our final order was granted in early September 25. Ours was a fairly detailed consent order that the courts approved first time around. We are sure that this 'rocket propelled' timeframe was possible because of Laura's input. Outside of the Amicable process, it will help if you do some reading up and join support groups as this will help you to get the most out of the service. Be prepared to spend a lot of time gathering your financial details for your specialist to look at. Thank you Laura for always being available to answer our questions and for being meticulous with the financial spreadsheet and legal drafting.

Laura was professional and knowledgeable but also warm, friendly and understanding and most of all completely fair in her assessment of our situation.

Emma helped us through a difficult period, demonstrating good knowledge and good communication throughout.

I had little choice in proceeding with this form of divorce, as it was my husband’s decision. While it may work for couples who are genuinely amicable, I would not recommend it where there is conflict. Independent legal representation is essential in such cases.

I found the level of support during this process to be minimal, and the needs of our children were not given sufficient consideration. Additionally, the promised six sessions were not delivered.

Overall, if you are not entirely comfortable sharing legal representation with your spouse, I would advise seeking an alternative approach.

So we filed for our divorce just over a year ago. Thankfully Dan @ Amicable has been amazing throughout - it has been a rollercoaster of emotions but he has helped and guided me and my ex throughout and the end result we have become amicable and has been a smooth service throughout and our divorce finalised last week. Plus the fees are far more affordable than instructing a typical divorce layer where you can spend tens of thousands! Amicable fees are fixed and therefore able to have decent deposits on our new purchases - rather than wasting money with expensive lawyers. Highly recommended. Very good, makes it easier to do this thing more amicably. Guess it can save people a vast amount of money in most circumstances. Its a hard time, you need to not lose your whole life savings to a solicitor and lawyer. This gives you all you need to make it work.

It was straightforward. Exactly what’s needed when you are still friends with your ex.

The service I used was straight forward and simple, questions were answered promptly and dashboard shows you where you are with the process.

Updated: Since writing this review, the leadership team personally reached out. I appreciated the gesture and the time taken, in addition to some personal advice given. While I still stand by my original concerns, I recognize the effort to address them and wanted to reflect that here.

Original review: Amicable has added stress to an already painful experience. The biggest issue has been support communication. Different support agents dip in and out of our case without context, often asking the same questions repeatedly and causing delays to our timeframes.

I’ve received emails that turned out to be “glitches”, including distressing ones about court submissions that had supposedly already happened weeks ago.The experience has been disorganized.

Our advisor Shreepali was able to help my ex husband and I through the process in a calm way. Her gentle approach enabled us to resolve our differences in an adult manner without unnecessary conflict.

Thank you amicable for existing and enabling my husband and I to agree on a consent order. It's been quite a journey but Shreepali was wise and patient and helped us move through the different steps in the process, and enabled us to understand and discuss our options. Once we had agreed on an option, the order was written up and sent to the judge.
I have also found the amicable podcast a great source of wisdom around the many aspects divorce. Thank you.

We had great support from Amicable from start to end for our separation agreement and eventual divorce. Sue, the advisor was always very clear in what we needed to do, explaining things promptly and simply. If you get along with your ex partner, and want to keep it simple and agree to things already amicable is a great service to sort out a lot of the logistics.

Our first intro 15 minute call was cancelled. I understand this can happen so we rescheduled. Bear in mind I am co-ordinating with my ex wife - and it is amicable but we need to arrange diaries etc. We got lots of reminders for our call with Anthony, and joined the teams link but he was a no show. I emailed to say we were waiting - but no response. I then called them directly - this was just when that call was about to finish - and was told he had noted we didn't attend the call. However, he wasn't available. It was 4.30 on a very sunny Thursday - not sure if that had anything to do with it. I wrote an email to "help", "anthony" and "sara.Shanahan" but received no response.
I then received 8 emails all asking me to review my experience.
I emailed again and to date (4 working days on) have had no acknowledgement from any of the email addresses.
This has put pressure and created an issue with my wife and I, as I was proposing using Amicable. I will look for an alternative - or we will just need to spend the money on normal solicitors.
Amicable also need to get hold of the technology - Teams links and Calendarly.
Very disappointed.

Updated: We have been contacted by Senior management at Amicable and they have bent over backwards to address the above issues. As with many IT platforms we were able to confirm there was an outage. This combined with some process issues caused the situation. We were impressed with the approach and have now signed up for their service. I have left the review at 3 stars as they should have anticipated some of the issues. However, I will be happy to post a second review based on the actual service received. So far so good!
