Atb couldn't get ABC rightI guess I Lied to you guys about ATB.

Seems I lied to you guys about ATB.
They suck huge. They pulled a good one on me that totally screwed me.
I went to open a business acct. Guess how long this took? 5 weeks and dealt with 4 people. I'd had enough and I get a call from a woman to continue my with acct. but just before her call Sunny the clueless guy that vacated the on my application calls me after a week of disappearing. The call should have taken maybe 6 min max , but this is the 3rd time I've given him my info ,. He had no business doing my app he couldn't even understand what my business is. And it's as simple as a Trudeau on a merry go round, with Sunny. He calls me back and I don't get the acct and I bet it's because some clueless dimwit couldn't explain what my business was,. Steaming now because he jusA t cost me a year and a half work because this guys as simple as they come. But I still kept my cool , A Week later I get a letter they're closing my account. I have no idea why . I didn't hear a reason not even a hint of one
No defense was allowed on my part all I could do was guess. If that isn't run by Stalin and Commie tactics ,if that isn't the 3rd reich I don't know what is

I'm not thrilled but I was civil about it actually patted myself on the get back for doing so. A Week later I mail they're closing my AtB
Acct. Lovely huh? no reason no nada no sfa. Goodbye don't even know who sent it...Thats AtB for you . If you don't agree with they're opinion the get out goodbye it's communism or. Not to mention I'm 60 years old and you get treated like your 6 ...

How ironic they're hyping business accts right now telling people some bs. About how much they care .... Don't do it what's that scenario going to do to your business for 2 or 3 weeks. What a joke.
Everything could be great and bang your acct. is gone no reason, no nada, we don't owe you squat.
I've ever been treated worse by a business. They think they're the almighty. Your just a simple pion . Don't roll the dice, it Could cost your business. Thanks Sunny go get a job.

ATB is a proud funder of Project…

ATB is a proud funder of Project Forest:

This company claims to help the environment but in reality they offer lies and greenwashing. Their parent company Tree Time runs this so-called non-profit. So guess what all the plants they propose to plant come from their parent company. What a great way to sneakily make millions of dollars.

In their recent project to plant a shelter belt in Siksika Nation they promised to plant 36360 plants native to the nation, in the end the planted 1320 plants native to the nation, a total of 1% of their planting. They planted 76% invasive species (91 170 total plants).

As it turns out it is really easy for big companies like Tree Time to grow invasive species, but difficult to grow native species like Raspberry, Saskatoon and Silver Buffaloberry. Instead of supporting nurseries that specialize in native plant production, Project Forest will only support their parent company Tree Time.

A CBC news article published in 2023 applauded Project Forest for fighting climate change. Planting a forest of invasive trees and shrubs in a prairie (one of the most endangered ecosystems on earth) does not fight climate change, it does the opposite.

Further Project Forest claimed that Caragana, which is allelopathic (kills other plants) would support the 18 000 Raspberries and 13 320 Saskatoons they promised to plant. In reality, they included ZERO Raspberries and Saskatoons in their planting.

This company continues to get thousands of dollars from private donors and grants. Yet they have the worst ethics we have ever seen from a non-profit claiming to support the environment. Don't be deceived, they have only one bottom line, it is profit.

Absolute frustration

Called the number on the card for help with an online issue. Was told the wait time would be 30 minutes to talk to an "Albertan". Following said wait, I got to talk to a guy in India who really didn't know what he was doing. Got to the point where he said I need a new phone, I hung up in absolute frustration. Going in tomorrow to close my accounts.

The issues are not worth it!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I called their customer service number after receiving calls from the fraud department. I attempted to renew the antivirus protection on my laptop and it wouldn't go through despite having enough in my account.

Called the number on the back of the card and the lady locked me out of my account and told me to go to a branch. This was Friday/Saturday. I have to wait till Monday for them to half ass "fix" the issue . I know they won't though they never do. They pressured me to open a checking account then neglected to attach the account to my card leaving me unable to pay. Worst bank ever!

Thanks to ATB and ATB Mastercard they…

Thanks to ATB and ATB Mastercard they have saved me many hundreds of dollars by stopping fraudulent account breeches. Sure I lost some but they blocked them before they could cause real damage. Opening new accounts was the easy part. They even phoned me before I knew what was happening. As for counter service it is more than exceptional. Ya once in a while somebody has a bad day but so do I and I appreciate their understanding. Also I’m just an ordinary customer with no big money involved so its even more appreciated.Thank you ATB.
Just a side note. When our old bank left town we went to every other bank in town they all treated us like we were from mars, the ATB treated us with respect Sure it was a bit rough during there transition. It’s been thirty years now.

Endless BS still no money!

ed me. First thing I did before anything was I called ATB and reported the issue. I’m talking right from their parking lot. The receipt said that I deposited 23 $100 bills 5 $20’s & 2 50’s so my $3000 dollar (30 100 bills) was now a $2500 deposit and that is where it’s been ever since. I called and spoke with several people who all promised to have answers for me within two business days. Then Friday I called and was blessed with that music on hold for nearly an hour to finally get a human who assured me she has escalated my case to the tracking dept and promised one to two business days, it’s been a week. Yesterday I called yet again and was placed on several holds to only come back and tell me he was going to escalate my issue I told him that was already done so he said please wait one to two business days AGAIN going another week without being paid back the money owed to me from September. I would not suggest or recommend ATB if you want honest fair banking practises when it comes to your money, they are great so long as their money is not when it comes to your money you can wait 1 to 2 business months. I’m fed up!!

***Update: I’d like to let you all know that since i wrote this review I waited a another week or so when Simone from the branch reached out and requested a receipt I have lost the receipt. I was directed to the branch manager who had misunderstood the whole situation and when i explained he made an exception for the receipt and also credited my account the full $500 that i was out. Thank you to that branch manager who did the right thing and corrected the mistake their atm made.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This past weekend we were defrauded out of $2600 our of our chequing account online through a fraudulent e-transfer link. We had all precautions in place, didn't give out our info, didn't authorize the transactions, had 2FA in place and it was still stolen. There were NO alerts from ATB, no notifications, nothing.
We called an hour after it happened, and started the investigation immediately. The only thing ATB did was say they would investigate. Couldn't reverse it a few hours after it happened, just told us it's gone.
Got told a few days later, too bad so sad, it's not their fault and they aren't doing anything about it. On their end, they are not at fault. EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS ON THEIR WEBSITE THEY WILL PAY 100% OF FUNDS BACK.
They do not give two f**&s about their customers. We are closing all accounts and letting everyone know to not bank there.

Debit card fraud refusal to reimburse

On august 11 i was unexpectedly rendered unable to conduct my banking and other financial responsibilities for approx 39 days and during this time someone got hold of my visa debit card which the police left in my vehicle and used that information to fraud my account to the tune of approx $3000 using a phone app. I was not aware of this until 38 days later when i was able to resume my responsibilities . Atb refuses to reimburse me for the obviously fraudulant puchases because they say and i quote "its not our fault". I do not know how these fraudsters got hold of my debit card and relevent information. The bank says that because another person whom i asked to retrieve my vehicle from an impound yard had my debit card and used it with my permission to get my vehicle out of the impound yard and thus avoiding an 80 dollar a day charge as well as make payments as they were requiredh that i was negligent and they are not responsible for the money stolen from my account using a apple pay app. My friend did not give the fraudsters my debit card or pin number and obviously neither did i. I have been a customer of Atb for 20 years or so and for them to refuse to refund this very obvious fraud is disappointing and frustrating. There is no way to prove where the fraudsters got the infirmation as the card was in the possession of my designated agent for the duration. That money was all i had and is insured and a technicality such as the ine the bank is using as an exscuse frankly causes me to seriously question the value they place on their customers especially long term customers such as myself. I must now find a financial institution that values my business enough to protect me from incidents of fraud of which i have no control. 3 grand is not even a drop in the ocean for Atb but it is the entire ocean for myself. Shame on Atb. If you bank with them be aware that they do not consider debit card fraud and im assuming even identity theft an issue as long as they can pick any excuse at all to avoid doung the right thing for a 20 plus year customer who is on wcb for a injuries incurred from a very serious work place accident. Im very disappointed to have to take my business elswhere.

We've been with ATB for a number of…

We've been with ATB for a number of years now, and I can honestly say that customer service is getting worse and worse. There's absolutely no reason why we cannot speak to someone at our own branch but have to go to the head office where no one seems to want to answer the phone. Disgusting that you have to be on hold for over an hour just to ask a simple question.
If my local bank was closer I would be able to drive there but it's not. Mind you, I could probably drive there and back quicker than I can get someone to answer the phone.
Very, very disappointed.

Dissatisfied

I’ve had a frustrating experience with ATB Bank. Despite providing all the necessary documentation, they refuse to close an account and continue to charge fees. I also received a bank card sent to the wrong address, which raised concerns about identity theft. Overall, my experience has been disappointing, and I would advise caution if you’re considering ATB.

Borderline Fraud

Atb is most definitely the most unethical institution we have ever dealt with. They try to go after shareholders in a company that have been changed 15 months ago. Threatening collections when they never contacted us for 15 months. They claim they can’t reach the “sole” shareholder so they are coming for us for debt the sole shareholder gave indemnity to us for. ALSO the guy they claim they can’t find …. Deals with ATB for his other business. Complete joke

Our children loved their savings…

Our children loved their savings accounts, which paid a small amount of interest every month. Now all of a sudden interest is at 0% AND they were charged a $3 bank statement fee. Not impressed at all! ATB, you have lost the younger generation!

We have been accepting cheque's under…

We have been accepting cheque's under our DBA name for 15 years. All of sudden at one of the branches (and just that one) this was no longer acceptable. The teller insisted that we contact our clients ( in eccess of 300) and inform them that the way they have been writing us cheque's needed to be revised. This is a prime example of the nonsensical arrogance I have been facing at A TB recently. Terrible . They cost me time and money today by having ti find another branch where the teller took the deposit without question.

company is full of crap no respect no service no professionalism. i am victim of fraud trying to get back my 600$ but atb bank is refusing to do that.. so my beloved hackers just try to get atb customers id info no pwd nothing add to it to samsung or apple wallet and thats it you can do anything you want and atb not refunding money so easy way to steal money.. feeling sorry for atb customers which i am included by myself

Not getting my business

Trust pilot makes you give atleast 1 star. Left numerous messages for the branch to call.me in regards to.my mortgage. I guess they don't really care. 10 days later finally got a return call. It's OK I've gone elsewhere, horrible service . Loose my money.and your interest

I wish I could give 0 star to ATB. Worst bank I ever dealt with. They put a debit lock on my account and after wasting my 1 hour with customer care they told me to visit the specific branch which is 40 kms one way from my address. When I asked them is my e-transfer enable or not they didn't respond and kept saying visit the branch and branch manager will discuss with you it's like I made a crime by opening a business account in ATB and disconnected the call.

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK. WORST SERVICES.

Double duped

After being told I met all the necessary criteria for a stop payment, it still went through thus eating the funds I received for working extra shifts on my days off, had to persistently call customer service who just kept feeding me lies, and then finally a supervisor who was the least knowledgeable and says the best she could do was refund the stop payment fee, well duh, why would I pay for a service that failed, not to mention raising my service fees this month almost double, from an institution that in the 1st 1/4 this year made 534 million a 7.2% increase from same period last year, I should have known better dealing with a government owned operation.

I am sorry to give one star review for government owned bank. Alberta Treasury Financial, I know no body looks this review and no body cares because all they are getting money. Wait for a phone call is one hour and five minutes, is not it shame and gaming in our tax money.
