Athena contacted me in 2023 and right from the beginning they were very professional. They kept me updated on every stage of the process with friendly and helpful members of the team.
This company is affiliated with heir hunters and are not a straight probate company. The first thing the staff did on the phone was complain and make varied excuses as to their personal life. Exceptionally unprofessional and, as I told the lady on the phone, personal matters should be left at home when attending work. It's none of the public's business what goes on in people's personal life. I had called as they didn't even have the courtesy to reply to an email.
When I called to ask why I was met with a barricade of excuses. She then mentioned an email that I had sent to previous heir hunters where I had called them out for lies. Wondering how on earth she could have access to such details, I was then informed that they work in conjunction with heir hunters, yet, to the public, appear as a completely independent probate company. I mentioned that I was not prepared to pay heir hunters for them to take a fee when I am more than capable of dealing with my own administration and she had the nerve to sit there and tell me I was wrong.
The rudeness is astonishing. Since when was it either appropriate or acceptable to tell a member of the public that they are wrong? At that point, I told her you are rude madam and hung up. What a nerve! I'm sorry, but my professional training taught me that the customer is always right and that if you know they're not then you use your customer service skills to explain gently and appropriately to help the customer to understand. Frankly I'm appalled. What a disgraceful way to speak to people. They need some serious training in people skills and customer service.

Contacted my dad about probate and sent a form - we had valid questions and Gary was rude to me on the phone and it was evident he couldn't wait to get off the phone saying quite curtly “ I’ve been doing this job 6 years and NO ONE has asked me these questions”. He said he would (reluctantly) get back to me but nothing. AVOID
I was contacted by these people who said they had traced relatives of my deceased step family. They forced entry into my stepmothers property without any consultation and had the locks changed before even verifying they had a valid claim on the estate. They then wanted to charge a considerable amount for the keys to be handed over to another Company with proof of a valid claimant. When I gained entry today, I found they have literally ransacked the property and left it in an awful and distressing state. Would definitely NOT recommend.
This company got in touch early on in the year informing me that my father had passed leaving a small sum of money.
They consequently got in touch with all siblings and asked for their permission to claim the money on our behalf.
They have since been very difficult to contact, not replying to our phone calls or email...
The sum of money wasn't a lot, about £5,000 but it looks as though they are trying to keep it..
