Authy was corrupted during migration to a new phone. I lost the backup password(s). There is no way to get access to an Authy account without a backup password. You then lose access to all accounts linked to Authy MFA and 2FA codes. I have had to create new accounts with every app that used Authy. You will lose all control of your accounts and associated data if you use Authy. Support is almost non-existent. There is a lapse of 2 - 4 days between emails. Only business users get support. BEWARE.

Opened a ticket regarding I've been locked out of my account, never received a response in a week and just got a notification my ticket will be closed as their first response to me. What? They didn't even bother to help. Will migrate my accounts elsewhere.

Absolutely atroicious customer service

Absolutely atroicious customer service! Staff DO NOT LISTEN, trying to get help in hacked account and they KEEP SENDING PHONE NUMBER CHANGE REQUEST even though I've said 4 times I do not know the hacker's number. Still - phone change reques email sent to me. Each staff says they will personally deal with this and email me back, they don't. Not one single staff member has actually listened to my request.

Your training is a joke, your staff don't know how to or can't be bothered to stick to their word.

All emails to prove this review is honest.

Lost access to all my accounts and…

Lost access to all my accounts and their customer support is AWFUL.

So I recently installed Authy desktop to 2FA several accounts. Previously the accounts were already protected by SMS 2FA, but it now multiple 2FA's are being required so I tried Authy.

My account was linked to my email. My phone. And my computer. 3 different things, but when my motherboard fried 4 days ago apparently that wasn't enough. I installed Authy on a different PC and verified the account through SMS. And all my account tokens are gone except for one.

I contact customer support and a representative that appeared to be located in India offered me absolutely no help. My inquiry was about salvaging my tokens from the hard drive on the previous computer. The rep tried to tell me that the tokens were store locally, but not on my hard drive or the cloud which makes absolutely no sense. Then she tried to say the tokens were stored on my app, and didn't seem to understand that the app is stored on my hard drive.

I then showed her a screenshot of the local storage and token folders under appdata and she abruptly said "Sorry we can't help you."

These customer service representatives appear to either have no training or they simply don't care about their jobs. They certainly lack even the most basic understanding of file transfer and local storage. I also suspect this company is outsourcing most of it's labor in an attempt to save money which obviously leads to situations like this.

Too many people have been locked out of their accounts. When it's a lost device I can understand, but for someone like myself who has the app and data stored on a working hard drive there should absolutely be a way to salvage the information.

I am in the process of figuring this out, unfortunately I am on my own because the customer support with this company is worthless. Once my situation is resolved I will be deactivating every account under Authy and I recommend everyone else do the same. I had never been locked out of accounts, no hacked accounts. I didn't need the service and had I not ever installed the program I would still have access to all my financial accounts.

Worse Costume service ever.

I tried reaching out to them because I had trouble with my authy. They didn't even read my email. They kept resending the same email to me. Worse Costumers service ever.

That’s very suspicious

That’s very suspicious. My number was used from an old Numberowner. I asked the support what I can do, and he said press merge in the email. I have done this and now can see his email adress clean (from the old numberowner) and have one of his Codegenerator (for his twicht account) in my list with fully working codes… I tried again to contact the support. No answer… couple hours later, without doing anything, I can only remember 3 maybe more of my code generator saved in Authy are gone. That’s very bad for such a important tool… a no go never again…. (And I was lucky with this tool I think for more than 3-4years. But after my First number change everything that can go wrong. Happens so…

I don't like sms

I don't like sms, very insecure even if its for a part.

I also do not like the fact how multi device is on and the recovery procedure takes 2 days.

for someone who needs to trade in economics, this is not acceptable.

I like better alternatives such as a authenticator with a password, or even better yubicos authenticator if you are serious, I never understood why companies rely on a external company being high risk for databreaches and all...

Received a code for a Ring

Received a code for a Ring. The problem: I don't have a Ring.

So I tried to go to authy to let them know that someone is, intentionally or otherwise, using my phone number. Couldn't find how to contact customer service, none of the chat robots helped. No phone number for assistance or service - even when you click 'talk to support', you're just chucked back to a general FAQ page.

If this company is so user-unfriendly when you don't engage with them, just imagine how user-unfriendly they'd be if you did.

Account Breaker

I'm not the only one here having this terrible problem. The authy account forgets the token even if you have the right log-in detail for them, meaning you are completely locked out of whatever you need.
In our case it was the master-admin website/webmail account that bought our entire business to it's knees and we needed to get the director to waste an afternoon on hold/photocopying his passport to get in

Installed yesterday deleted today

Installed yesterday for access to accounting software. Today the codes generated were not accepted, so the software locked me out after too many failed attempts to log in. The live chat is rubbish - just bots giving programmed answers. Deleting this rubbish app today.

Terrible

I recently resetted my pc, and my tokens/accounts werent there, I couldnt do anything and was really irritated. I had an account with 2FA, and couldnt revive it back due to the authy tokens/accounts going away.

I recently got my phone number changed

I recently got my phone number changed. I do not have access to the old number. I have requested twice for them to reset it but both times the link has not worked. This is the verification system for twitch so now I am unable to access my twitch PRIME account.

Esdras Cohen should receive a gold plated Kappa for outstanding customer service. In a world where "support" is really just a word they have to seem to offer. This man was in daily comms and worked tirelessly to help me fix my 2FA problem even dropping a line to check I was OK because I had been sick and not replied for a few weeks.
