Avoid at all costs!
We bought a car from this dealer in May and the experience has been extremely stressful and costly. We paid a significant amount of money for this vehicle and have driven it less than 3,000 miles since purchase. Problems started almost immediately, with mechanical and electrical issues appearing within days. The car was returned multiple times and each time we were told it had been repaired, but the problems kept coming back and gradually became worse, strongly suggesting that underlying issues were being temporarily fixed rather than properly diagnosed and resolved.
Over time, the situation escalated into serious safety concerns, including loss of power, stalling at traffic lights and even stalling while driving at speed, which was genuinely dangerous. Throughout this period, we repeatedly raised concerns about abnormal rattling noises and were told on several occasions that “this car rattles naturally”, which later proved not to be the case and appeared to mask a much more serious underlying mechanical problem.
Eventually, an independent breakdown service confirmed that the vehicle was suffering from a serious underlying engine issue, and by this point the car had completely broken down and was no longer safe or usable. There were also issues present at the point of sale that were not immediately obvious, including tyres that were dry-rotted and cracked but hidden by cosmetic treatment on the wheels. Communication later became very difficult, with the dealer stating he was in hospital and redirecting us to the warranty company. It was only then, by reviewing the warranty contract, that we became aware that underlying mechanical issues are not covered, leaving us without support for a serious fault that had existed since shortly after purchase. As a result, we were forced to rent replacement vehicles at our own cost, causing significant financial strain and disruption to our business, particularly during the busy Christmas period.
Despite repeated attempts to resolve this matter, we have now been left with no option but to take this case to court. I am leaving this review to warn others, as based on our experience serious underlying faults were repeatedly masked with temporary fixes rather than properly repaired, leading to a dangerous and costly outcome.
