Ich habe über Check24 ein Fahrzeug in Marokko - Casablanca über Autowill gebucht. Es war mit Abstand meine schlechteste Erfahrung. Ich rate allen diesen Anbieter zu vermeiden. Er lockt mit günstigen Preisen und versucht danach abzuzocken. Die Vertragsunterlagen sind auf Arabisch und Französisch, d.h. wenn man diese Sprachen nicht versteht unterschreibt man irgendwelche Vereinbarungen. Das Fahrzeug war komplett dreckig und bei der Abgabe hat man so getan, als ob man mir ein sauberes Fahrzeug gegeben hätte und man wollte von mir 50€ für die Reinigung während an der Tankstelle eine Reinigung 5€ kostet. Der Mitarbeiter bei der Übergabe ist absolut unprofessionell, er verweist nicht auf die Zusatzkosten die entstehen können, erst bei Abgabe um Geld abzuzocken. Zahlt lieber etwas mehr und reist unbekümmert, die Abzocker würde ich VERMEIDEN

Scammers!!! Charged me 50€ cleaningcost after returning the car!!! When we did the paperwork in the beginning of the rental, they charged me for 200€ when my rentalcost was just 72€. When returning the car they also tried to scam me with scratches at the car who didn't belong to me. Luckely I took pictures in the beginning so they couldn't scam me with that... Don't go with these people.

Had ik de reviews maar gelezen! Ze passen systematisch steeds dezelfde vorm van diefstal toe. En dan heb ik het nog niet eens over de verborgen kosten en het afschuwelijke personeel.
Wij leverden de auto zonder enige schade in, vanbinnen en vanbuiten professioneel met de hand gewassen.
Tot onze verbazing vond de medewerker van Autowill onmiddellijk zogezegde krassen op de spiegel. Alles lijkt op voorhand afgesproken en in scène gezet. Ze weten precies wie ze met welke auto gaan oplichten.
Zonder akkoord haalden ze schaamteloos €650 van mijn creditcard.
Laat dit niet aan het toeval over: lees de vele gelijkaardige reviews en blijf hier ver vandaan!

They are cheaters. Just stay away. They charged me for two scratches that didn’t belong to me. They want my credit card for deposit back. But some days later they took my 700€. Don t trust them anyway

I had a very nice experience. The people working there were super friendly! The car was very nice to drive with. Afterwards the guy who worked there even dropped me off at my hostel.
I would recommend it

This is hands-down the worst hire company I have ever dealt with. We returned everything on time — the worker falsely claimed we were 3 minutes late and coerced us into paying €50 just to get our deposit back.

This is not a fair company, it’s a shakedown. They hide behind ridiculous rules to squeeze money out of customers.

Save yourself the frustration — go literally anywhere else.

Aéroport de Zadar. Attention à l’arnaque.
Nous avons rendu la voiture en parfait état, lavée aspirée et ramenée sans une poussière avec plus d’essence que lorsqu’on est partis. En notre présence le gars fait le tour (très minutieusement) de la voiture. Après un certain temps il nous demande d’aller voir sa collègue au bureau. On s’exécute. Il revient avec la photo de micro rayures (en forme de gribouillis) et nous demande de payer 270€.
Attention : aucun choc ne fait ou contact avec d’autres véhicules ou encore végétaux ne fait ce genre de marque.
Ils prouvent l’absence de rayure au départ grâce aux photos prises par leurs soins. Je n’y ai pensé qu’après. Les rayures ont dû être faites pendant que nous étions avec sa collègue. C’est très rusé et surtout très malhonnête.
Ne quittez donc jamais la personne de chez Autowill et faites attester avant d’aller rendre les papiers que votre véhicule est nickel !

AUTOWILL seeks every possible means to incur costs. For example, AUTOWILL unilaterally increases the insurance exemption to 1,600 euros instead of the 700 euros chosen when entering into the rental contract. According to the unfriendly counter employee, this was company policy and not open to discussion.

The car i booked was an Opel Astra or similar. The car made available was a Dacia Sandero. You don't have to be a car expert to know that the Dacia never could be considered equal to an Opel, neither in price nor in quality. It was also not surprising that after five days this car broke down with an electrical engine failure. Replacement was provided. The on-board computer of the replacement vehicle is reported 3300 km over its service. I would have preferred a carefree holiday.

But the icing on the cake was the arrogance of the same counter clerk who demanded that I provide an explanation about the on-board computer comment around the symbol indicating urgent service. She then meticulously inspected every scratch wich i had to give an explanation for. Fortunately, all damage could be proven through the photos I took when picking up the car. This way of working is completely customer-unfriendly. That I had to justify the old damage? I thought it was up to the them to prove the new damage. And it became even more unpleasant when, when returning the replacement vehicle, extra costs were charged for not refueling the defective Dacia vehicle.

So I feel unfairly treated, even ripped off. The counter employee was unfriendly, said that was the company's working method, pushed a business card into my hands and did not want to engage in dialogue.

From this experience I understand that there was no queue at any meeting, neither at pick-up nor at car drop-off.

I hope it will save others from similar bad experiences.

Staff are incentivised to add penalty charges on return of the vehicle this can range from 100's of Euros for a not required deep clean, to charging for small scratches (given croatia has a lot of gravel this is very problematic).

Company targets holiday makers since there is little concern for repeat business. Avoid this company.

Hired a car in Zadar last week, the pick up went very easy! But bringing back the car takes a very long time, and they try to scam you!!! Beware of that! And they charge you for €18,75 cleaning cost, if you have a little bit of sand in the car....really don't ever hire a car again by this scammers!

I hired a car from Zadar airport in August, the guys were friendly and very clear about the possible fees to pay, we pay the right fees and we did the full insurance, on the return it didn't take long to check the car over. Die Firma betrügt und sucht nach der Rückgabe kleinste Kratzer un dann dafür pauschal 500 Euro anzukassieren. Sowas gabe ich noch nie erlebt!

La voiture est loué en étant déjà pas mal cabossé et sans état des lieux.
Sur place on vous force à prendre une assurance en cas d'accident ou de payer une assistante de 70€ en cas de crevaison.
Le meilleur moment est quand on rend la voiture, la personne inspecte la voiture dans les moindres détails pour trouver un nouvel impact. Heureusement nous avions pris des photos au moment de la réception sinon on payait des impacts déjà présent. Au final on nous a fait payé le nettoyage (18€) que nous venions de faire la veille ( présence de quelques poussières sur les tapis ).
Loueur un peu moins cher mais à fuir.

They requested a police report for a flat tire, which I obtained. However, they later dismissed it, claiming it wasn’t valid because it wasn’t issued at the exact location of the incident. It became clear they were looking for any excuse to withhold the deposit. The owner’s tone over the phone was rude and condescending. I would not recommend this business to anyone

Obligés de payer 18€ car la voiture était sale à l’intérieur alors qu’elle était propre.On a voyagé à deux sans enfants. Parole contre parole et bien têtue la dame à l’aéroport de Duvrovnik. Sans parler le croate et avec un anglais approximatif. L’arnaque. Un abus. Ils sont très insistants pour qu’on prenne leur assurance alors qu’on avait pris AXA… bref pas bien.

Unsere Erfahrung mit Autowill war von Anfang bis Ende eine einzige Enttäuschung.

Nachdem unsere erste Kreditkarte aus technischen Gründen nicht funktionierte, weigerte sich der Autovermieter, eine andere Kreditkarte zu akzeptieren. Nach fast zwei Stunden Diskussion erklärte er sich schließlich bereit, die zweite Karte anzunehmen – allerdings nur unter der Bedingung, dass wir eine völlig überteuerte Zusatzversicherung für 100 € abschließen. Da wir auf das Auto angewiesen waren, hatten wir keine andere Wahl. Diese Versicherung war am Ende teurer als der Mietwagen selbst.

Am Ende unseres Urlaubs wollten wir das Auto entspannt zurückgeben, aber das war leider nicht möglich. Der Mitarbeiter erschien erst 45 Minuten nach dem vereinbarten Termin, und die Situation wurde zunehmend stressiger, da sich bereits mehrere Familien am Abgabeort versammelt hatten. Als wir ihn darauf hinwiesen, dass unser Flug in weniger als einer Stunde abfliegen würde, reagierte er lediglich mit Gleichgültigkeit. Es sei ihm egal, ob wir unseren Flug verpassen – er würde jetzt alle Wartenden nacheinander abfertigen.

Nach endloser Warterei begann schließlich die Rückgabe des Autos. Hier gab es direkt die nächste unangenehme Überraschung: Der Mitarbeiter beanstandete, dass das Fahrzeug „nicht geputzt“ war. Zudem wies er auf einen kaum sichtbaren Kratzer an der Türkante hin, der angeblich nicht dokumentiert worden sei. Zum Glück hatten wir bei der Abholung zahlreiche Fotos gemacht, auf denen der Kratzer eindeutig zu sehen war.

Doch damit war der Ärger noch nicht vorbei. Der Mitarbeiter weigerte sich, den Vorgang schnell abzuschließen, und entschied stattdessen, zuerst die Fahrzeuge aller anderen Wartenden zu überprüfen. Die Zeit wurde immer knapper, und 15 Minuten vor Abflug mussten wir uns schließlich aufteilen: Eine Person eilte zum Security-Check, während die andere noch auf die Fertigstellung der Rückgabe wartete. Nur so haben wir es am Ende gerade noch rechtzeitig in den Flieger geschafft.

Fazit: Nie wieder Autowill. Unser Urlaub endete mit unnötigem Stress, zusätzlichen Kosten und einer insgesamt katastrophalen Kundenbetreuung. Wir können nur dringend davon abraten, hier ein Auto zu mieten.

I had a deeply disappointing experience with Autowill Rent-a-Car regarding the car seat I rented. Despite my efforts to address safety concerns with their customer service, they offered no solutions and dismissed my concerns outright.

The car seat they provided was too large for my 5-month-old baby, who weighs 7 kilos, causing him to rock uncomfortably despite proper strapping. I raised this issue with Autowill, but they deflected responsibility back to me, suggesting I hadn’t fastened the straps correctly. This response felt dismissive and unhelpful, especially given that the car seat was missing both the shoulder strap padding and the infant support inlay—key features essential for a safe, snug fit for infants.

Although my child fits within the under-13 kg category, Autowill ignored the importance of providing the appropriate support for his age and size. Their unwillingness to acknowledge this issue or issue a refund shows a concerning lack of regard for customer safety. I would strongly advise other parents to avoid this company if considering child equipment rentals.

I hope Autowill will reconsider their approach to both equipment standards and customer support.
