This is the third time I have ordered…

This is the third time I have ordered from Avoca from the US. Beautiful blankets and items, superior customer service--highest quality on both. If you can't be in Ireland and County Wicklow, this is the next best thing. Highly recommend!

Avoca solves the quagmire

Avoca, my favorite Irish business for decades, recently solved a quagmire with UPS international shipping. Orla was so kind and helped to immediately cut through all the red tape. She solved the problem overnight and had the beautiful wedding blanket on its way to a couple in the States. I am so grateful, as are they!

Outstanding customer service

Outstanding customer service — Orla went above and beyond!
I recently ordered a New Baby Hamper from Avoca Ireland to be delivered to Dublin, and the experience was made truly exceptional by Orla in the Customer Care Team.
I had encountered some difficulties placing my order online from Australia, which resulted in a duplicate order being created. Orla identified this promptly and without any fuss, processed a full refund to my card and ensured the correct order was handled seamlessly. She also took care of a special request to include an Ombre Rose cashmere blend blanket in the hamper — a lovely personal touch.
Throughout the entire process, Orla was professional, warm, responsive and incredibly helpful. Ordering internationally can sometimes be stressful, but Orla made it completely effortless.
I would not hesitate to shop with Avoca again. Highly recommend — both the products and the people behind them are wonderful.

Problem solved

Needed to locate a particular product, asked Avoca for which shops in counties Dublin & Cork might have it. Got a rapid & comprehensive reply! Excellent customer service.

Called in for a coffee and walked out with a throw

Called in for a coffee and ending buying a lovey throw for my partner back home 😃. Avoca is a timeless beautiful special place and will definitely be back in the future. The staff are so helpful and friendly and at this time of year I had the place to myself for 20 mins or so.

Just to add the surrounding countryside is just stunning always has been hope it never changes.

Slow customer service

Poor customer service. Impossible to contact. They never answer the phone or reply to emails. Sent several emails to their online "service" and left several phone messages over the course of the past four weeks. Received not as much as a single reply. Will never give Avoca my custom again and advise others to avoid.
Update: eventually, after 5 weeks, received a helpful email reply.
Avoca replied to this review by stating: "we do not manage customer service queries by phone or email". Then why give a phone number, 01 2746900 with the message: "This is the Avoca Online Customer Care Team. Please leave your name and phone number and we will get back to you asap."
And why state on the Avoca website:" Food, Store, Cafe and Restaurant Compliments and Complaints
Email:Giving their email address - I can't give their email address as Tripadvisor do not allow email addresses in their reviews.
Also, Avoca's reply was "signed" Avoca Customer Care Team. Take responsibility, be transparent and sign your name to your reply instead of hiding behind "Avoca Customer Care Team".

The ordering and payment process was perfect

The ordering and payment process was seamless, and when I reached out after the fact for shipping information their response was very quick.
The shipping through UPS was otherwise, I did not receive my parcel and they insist it was delivered - but not to me - and are being difficult to deal with. This, however, should not reflect on Avoca’s service as they did everything perfectly.
Unfortunately, because of UPS and their poor customer service I would not order again.

Ordered a gift hamper

Ordered a hamper as a Christmas gift. It was never dispatched and I received no reply from customer services despite repeated emails. On 23 December I was finally contacted to be told that as some of the items in the hamper had been oversold it would not be sent. If I had been told at the time of ordering I could have made other arrangements. Very very poor experience.

Customer Service Prompt and Competent

I had some complications with my order and also with US tariffs. Avoca provided a very friendly and competent customer service person to clarify and solve my issues. She was prompt, light hearted and a real person. Thank you Avoca for hiring such good employees to help customers.

Taken money but haven't fulfilled my order

I placed 2 orders online with a GB voucher plus the remaining amount on my bank card. Both were unsuccessful orders due to an error with the gift card, but on both occasions, the money was taken from my bank account.

I have been refunded the money for one of the purchases, but not the other. I have emailed customer services about this, and messaged on social media but my message was ignored.

It's been nearly 2 weeks. Poor customer service.

No customer service ethos in the online division

I ordered on 27 November some Christmas hampers as corporate gifts. Christmas hampers may, by definition, be reasonably expected to be delivered at Christmas. These hampers were however delivered to my clients on 28 November.

I received notification on 27 November that the hampers would be despatched that day. When I tried to contact Avoca by telephone to request delaying delivery until Christmas, several numbers went unanswered and simply rang out. I also tried the chatbot, but that was also equally non-responsive.

I then tried calling one of the Avoca retail outlets on Friday 28th November. The telephone was answered promptly. I explained my concern with Christmas hampers being delivered in November. It quickly became very clear that the strong ethos of customer service that exists in the retail division is excellent, but totally absent from the online division. One week on, and after multiple broken promises, I'm still awaiting a call from the online division.

I want to note in particular how empathetic and supportive Orla and Anita in Avoca have been. They have been doing everything possible to encourage a call from the online division, but their efforts are falling on deaf ears. Thank you to two amazing ladies Orla and Anita.

It's a shame that the Avoca brand has been damaged by the performance of the online division.
