Highly recommend Ayi Connect, especially if time is limited
Ayi Connect was incredibly helpful in helping my husband and I find a suitable postpartum/'confinement' nanny or 'Yue Sao' - their process makes it really easy for those who primarily speak English to meet and interface with a wide variety of caregivers, and they were very thorough and helpful throughout the process. They found us a match very quickly despite only having a short timeframe before our due date. I sincerely recommend them if you, like me, do not have a network in your area and want the support but aren't sure where to turn.

A very positive experience
AyiConnect was so easy to work with and made the nanny funding process super simple and smooth. Our nanny has been invaluable to us since the birth of our newborn and has really made the post partum experience a very positive one. I have recommended them to my friends who are currently pregnant and would definitely use them again in the future if needed!

I just wanted to say how thrilled we remain to be working with Jiang Ayi (or 姥姥 as she prefers to be called). She's wonderful with D — and a wonderful cook! — and her help has been invaluable. She is also just an extremely kind, patient, generous, and open-hearted person. And hearing D speak his first words of Chinese fills me with joy.

Cannot recommend them highly enough
I recently had the pleasure of using AyiConnect for our family's childcare needs, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From the moment we reached out, the professionalism and warmth of their team were evident. The matching process was thorough and thoughtful, ensuring our nanny not only met our practical requirements but also fit well with our family's dynamics.
Our nanny, Zeng ayi, has been an absolute joy to have. She is punctual, reliable, and has formed a wonderful bond with our children. Her approach to childcare, which blends educational activities with fun and outdoor play, aligns perfectly with our parenting style. She keeps us informed with regular updates, which we greatly appreciate as working parents.
The administrative side of the service has been seamless, with clear communication and flexibility around our schedules. It's evident that AyiConnect truly cares about the families and nannies they work with, going above and beyond to ensure a positive experience for all.

Caregiver found!
We were in search of a caregiver who could provide specialized care for our son's needs. Finding someone with the right experience proved challenging. We knew it because we tried it and weren’t successful. Then we engaged with the AyiConnect team.
After several months and a few candidates, we finally found an ayi who not only has the necessary experience but also speaks English fluently and is willing to be paid on the book. Beyond caregiving, she's also willing to assist with household tasks. She helps with meal prep and chores, making our lives easier while our son receives the care he needs. We are really happy with her. Appreciate the team for being so top of things.

We have truly enjoyed our experience with AyiConnect Concierge. We are happy with all the Nannies presented to us. The nanny we hired - she’s not only good with our babies, but an incredible cook! She’s introduced us to new dishes we have not tried before, like meat buns with a twist. She’s already traveled with us to China and been really easy going. We feel lucky to have her in our lives.

Do NOT recommend
Caution! I would not recommend. I spent $400 & did not get the service promised & when I requested a partial refund, they would not agree.
I contacted AyiConnect to help find a baby nanny for my upcoming birth. They interviewed me first to understand what I am looking for and I made it clear that "some English is a must but broken English is okay." - I even bolded "some English is a must" in my email AyiConnect to emphasize how important that is to me. I cannot speak Chinese and the last thing I want to worry about is being able to communicate with my nanny especially in the middle of the night with a newborn. They said they felt they could help me and they require clients to pay upfront via Zelle or credit card (5% fee). This should've been the 1st red flag - Most other agencies get paid only after you find someone. They said they would send me 2-3 candidates. I asked what would happen if I don't like any of the candidates to which they replied that this has never happened before (i.e. clients not liking any candidates in the 1st batch) - That should have been the 2nd red flag.
1st batch: They sent me 2 candidates, both who did not speak English and required Google Translate to communicate. I gave AyiConnect my feedback that the candidates did not meet my English requirements as discussed.
2nd batch: They said me 2 more candidates, 1 of the 2 required Google Translate. The other one I had to basically forced her to speak some English but I could tell she was very uncomfortable and she much preferred speaking in Chinese. I once again communicated my dissatisfaction and asked for a refund. Instead, they sent me 1 more candidate.
3rd batch: They sent me one candidate that they assured spoke conversational English. At this point, I already looking elsewhere. I expected more than 1 choice. 1 choice is not much of a choice.
I once again asked for a partial refund because I understand AyiConnect did do some work but did not provide the candidates that met my requirement as promised. They misrepresented client satisfaction, stating that they "haven't encountered any issues with the candidates we presented in the first batch". I highly doubt that given that they only sent 2 candidates in the first batch.
I would not recommend people use AyiConnect. There are plenty other agencies and they do not charge clients upfront.

Concierge Service Worth It
We initially tried to use AYIConnect's free search service, but we could never have found just the help we were looking for without their concierge service. They were professional and very quick, and we feel we have hired someone who is just what we were looking for. A few minor points to improve on-- we had a question about taxes that it took them a long time to understand well enough to answer us, and in their initial search they did not find what we wanted because they had not looked with one specific parameter in mind. However, once this was cleared up, they did an excellent job and were certainly very willing to be redirected. We are very satisfied with our experience.
