If I could give them a zero star review, I would. The company originally stated that they would be taking over our downtown area and converting our town to create a Nashville experience. As someone who has been to Nashville, I was extremely excited as I really enjoyed barhopping to various restaurants and listening to different musicians. Unfortunately, when they released the schedule, it showed that they only had three venue choices, one of which is Casino Rama (not even in Orillia). When I tried contacting them via email to express my disappointment, they did not respond to me and I had to follow up with them again 3 to 4 weeks later.

I recently had a very short phone call with one of the coordinators of the event and did not receive an apology or any explanation. I was also informed that the venues would only be serving meat products, which is very misleading as the original marketing made it seem like we would be able to order food from the restaurants menus. As someone who has been a vegetarian for over 10 years, I very rarely do not get provided dietary options. While I am a vegetarian by choice, there are several individuals who have dietary restrictions due to allergies or religious purposes. Given that we are in 2026, there should be far more accommodations. We have to pick up our wristbands between 4 and 6 PM and then the show starts directly after that and goes until 9:30 PM. Given that many of us work until 4 PM there’s not really any time for us to eat dinner prior to the event starting. They should have notified us this several months prior as this would have prevented me from buying tickets. I also would not have bought tickets if I would’ve known that the venue they decided to take over would primarily be the casino.

They’ve also informed us that we cannot barhop between venues and that after spending $100 per wristband, we still need to have reservations to get into the venue otherwise we would not be able to attend. Even though I haven’t even attended this event yet, it will not be possible for redemption. I am extremely disappointed and feel that they have not properly addressed several community members frustrations as there are many individuals who have expressed the same or similar concerns as me. It is extremely unfortunate as we have a beautiful downtown and several locally owned bars and restaurants that we should be supporting. Although I understand that there had been a couple of businesses that pulled out last minute, Nashville Takeover should’ve offered everybody refunds as the event is no longer what they had advertised and what many of us had paid for. Overall, I am extremely disappointed and do not recommend. I never leave reviews and I am trying my best not to be harsh, rather I am trying to simply state my experience.

Had a fantastic ladies weekend with my girlfriends. Lots of positive vibes but room for lots of improvements. We saw 13 artists and 11 were amazing. 2 were OK so no complaints. We fell lucky with the venues we reserved but were always early to secure group seating. A non negotiable service charge of 18% doesn’t sit well with me. I tip but that’s my choice. $40 for a salad and non alcoholic beverage plus 18% is a bit steep. The final day at the golf course said no food was allowed in, yet there was nothing to purchase. I tried in the golf club but by then the orders were so backed up it was pointless. I would go again just for the experience of upcoming artists. It would have been handy to know info on the artists once you arrived at the venue.
I won a prize in the after raffle on Monday but as I don’t live in Sylvan Lake there was no way to collect it and no way to have the voucher emailed ( is that really so difficult in 2026?) Kinda sucked as I already told my husband and was looking forward to another weekend there. Should have stated that before inviting us to enter to avoid that disappointment. Overall I think we lucked out because our group was incredibly organized and motivated.

Great event!! Can't wait until next year! Only suggestion would be to stagger timing of each event, so there is overlap between bars allowing for guests to walk the street between venues with music playing. This would create a unique experience for guests that was not available with venues all breaking and ending at the ~same time. Would appreciate ability to jump between venues aswell, of which I believe is the intended structure.

The concept warrants 3 stars but the execution does not even get that much. We received our email with the link to register for events and did so within hours, but discovered that most were already sold out. We took what we could get! We encountered people who paid for tickets but were unable to get into any venues except one outdoor venue. We had our tickets downloaded to our Apple Wallet and no one actually checked them. Doors apparently opened an hour before the music was to start but in reality, you needed to show up 2 hours before to have a hope of getting a seat. This was for the “social” venues. Our one listening room venue was no different. Despite the event description stating that the listening room experience had guaranteed seating, we arrived only to be told that we had to stand. When we showed the event staff the information in the event package, we discovered that they were all volunteers, who basically washed their hands of the problem, with no actual Nashville Takeover staff in sight! We were given the phone number for a NT customer service person and the call could not be connected due to a full mailbox! I can’t imagine what a horrible situation we would have had on our hands if we had someone with mobility issues with us! Then, once in the venue, you were stuck, regardless of the quality of the show (artists who spend more time getting incoherent drinking tequila shots is not what I call a top notch job) and with no ability to visit other venues to catch a variety of artists. I get the need to disperse the crowds between venues but it would have been very easy to have the artists rotate venues at the session breaks. That would have been more like it really is in Nashville.
This was at Sylvan Lake and we initially thought this was all growing pains due to it being the first time at this location, but in reading other reviews, it appears that this is a consistent pattern. We won’t be back.

We were very excited for this event and travelled to Sylvan to attend. We purchased the VIP passes that were a TOTAL RIP OFF! Other than the roped off area at the after party the first night we received nothing VIP and nothing more than the lower package but paid $100 more a ticket. Every venue we went to had no seating or even standing room left even when showing up when doors supposedly opened. The weather for Saturday night clearly gave plenty of notice it was going to storm but they waited until after the after party was scheduled to start to make the call to move it inside and delay it at least an hour. The team moved quickly to accommodate so kudos to them. The after party on Saturday had amazing artists and was honestly the best part of the whole event but was quickly dampened by the event crew, artists volunteers and organizers overtaking the paid guests completely surrounding the performing artist so those that paid to attend couldn’t see and seemed to treat the event as their own personal wrap up drink fest party including clearly marked volunteers falling over drunk and the organizer literally pushing through paid guests like they were ghosts to show off for the local hook up. I completely understand it is a new festival getting its bearings but it was very disorganized, unprofessional and makes promises clear in writing that they do not deliver. It has potential to be something great but definitely needs to put paying patrons first, be more upfront about scheduling and numbers of artist you will see, provide what they promise in writing, much more organization and a more professional crew and organizer. Honestly I think a partial refund for all Sylvan founders passes should be offered, we didn’t talk to one founder pass holder (which seemed like everyone in attendance, totally oversold!) that received remotely what was described. The artists and the venues were so great at making sure everyone had a great time though so 👏 to them unfortunately we will not be retuning to this festival.

Had an absolutely amazing time at the Nashville Takeover - Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Very well organized from registration to venue, all went smoothly. Liked the reserved venue selection, always had a seat at each venue. Loved the small venue atmosphere. My first time to a singer/songwriter event like this and it did not disappoint. Performance quality was outstanding!! We listened to 13 different performers. Difficult to pick a favorite - Charly Reynolds, Beamer Wigley, Camden West, Zach Aaron, Sycamore - just to name a few. There were many other great artists. I can’t wait until next year!

Nashville takeover was 5 star with the artists all the talent was amazing and gave great shows and experiences. Some venues might have been a little small but if weather would have been more favorable it wouldn’t have been so noticeable.
In some locations I feel that the automatic tipping created a situation for poor service and lack value of food and drinks. This could be rectified if you had a minimum spend at seated tables.
A list of all the musician provided after the event would give us away to start to follow our favorite up and coming artists.

This company uses deceptive practices. Nowhere is it mentioned that reservations to the events will be required at a later date prior to purchasing tickets.
THIS IS FRAUD by definition: deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage.
They will not refund my money

The music was fantastic. Great to support up and coming talent as well as some established artists. We loved the randomness of the performers. It was great to see how performers unknown to each other just made it seem so simple and worked really well together.
I was a bit concerned about venues, thinking they may be too big. I was wrong! The venues were also fantastic. Small and intimate.
I did have several concerns with the locations at the beginning. It was originally advertised as a Fenlon Falls/ Bobcaygeon event. But then there was only one VIP event in Bobcaygeon. After some feedback (complaining), another venue was added in Bobcaygeon. That was appreciated, otherwise, I would not have driven to Fenlon Falls in the evenings. The concession stands were, also, a bit overpriced.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the performers I would definitely do this again!

My wife and I had a great time at the Orangeville event. It was well organized and the staff was helpful with any questions we had. The artists were all talented and engaged with the crowd. We will definitely go back again next year.

We weren’t sure what to expect but had a great time at the Orangeville event. We selected a bar venue for the afternoon and were surprised that they were able to accommodate the crowd with food and drinks since it was very busy. The music was great. We spent the evening at a quieter listening room hearing songs and the stories behind them before heading to the after party where we had the chance to see some of the artists we missed during the day. The whole thing was well run despite some glitches in the weeks leading up to it. We were able to reserve spots which meant we didn’t haven’t worry about not getting into a full venue. It was a good time!!!

Nashville takeover was incredible and I will be buying tickets to several more town takeovers! What an incredible idea!

My experience before the event has even started has been incredibly disappointing.

The event was marketed as a multi-venue Nashville-style music festival throughout downtown Orangeville. Like many others, I expected to be able to enjoy the atmosphere by visiting participating bars and restaurants throughout the day.

What wasn't made clear when I purchased my tickets was that reservations would essentially determine whether you could access those venues at all. By the time I became aware that reservations were required, every downtown venue for Saturday was fully booked, leaving only the Orangeville Fairgrounds available.

At that point, I wasn't getting the experience I paid for. Instead of spending the day exploring downtown and enjoying multiple venues, I was effectively limited to a single location outside the downtown core.

When I contacted customer service, I explained that this was not the event I believed I had purchased and requested a refund. Their response was simply that they have a no-refund policy and suggested I try selling my tickets myself.

I understand venues have capacity limits, but if reservations are critical to participating in the event, that information should be impossible to miss before people spend hundreds of dollars, not communicated later by email after tickets have already been sold.

The customer service responses were polite but completely unwilling to acknowledge how frustrating this situation is for customers. Instead, the responsibility was placed on ticket holders.

After reading other reviews, it appears I'm not the only person who has encountered issues with how this event has been organized.

I hope the organizers take this feedback seriously. The concept has great potential, but transparency is essential. Consumers deserve to know exactly what they're purchasing before they buy tickets.

The Nashville Takeover was such a fabulous and unique experience to be a part of! Every single, hand-selected artist brought such incredible talent! The music and the vibes felt at each location made us feel like we were actually a part of an intimate show right in one of the Nashville bars! What an amazing weekend with so many memories shared! We can’t wait until next year!

The entire experience was so different from any other music event I have attended. The artists were beyond talented, the venues were unique (especially on the Sunday in Port Stanley at the Wildflowers farm and The Clearing), and the staff were so friendly. All the artists were willing to talk to you after and take pictures, it was a very intimate and personal experience. I will be buying tickets for future events.

I had the pleasure of attending CrossRoads Unity Commons venue in Burlington. Musicians were so good, amazing talent! Can’t remember when I had such an enjoyable evening. What a great event ❤️

Oversold and No Value! I was looking forward to this event, having been to Nashville many times, but I was really disappointed. We arrived, 5 of us from Toronto, Friday afternoon. We had upgraded our passes from a Saturday day pass to a full weekend pass. We registered on Friday afternoon, and planned to have dinner and see the evening show at Two Forks, only to be turned away because they were at capacity.

We attempted to get seated at SoLo, which was also full and not taking any more dinner guests. We ended up going somewhere else, not affiliated with the event.

Saturday afternoon was no better. We arrived early (1:30 for a 2:30 show) at Port Stanley Brewing Co., but when we got to the door, we were told again that they could not seat us until after the show. What's the point of that? Instead, we had a lovely dinner at Riva's (again, not affiliated with Nashville Takeover).

Saturday evening, we once again lined up at Two Forks only to be told it was standing room only and that we could not get a table, and not to bother the bartenders, because they were busy? (what?)

I feel like I was taken advantage of, up sold a $100/each * 2 pass, and we did not hear a single note played. My opinion is that this organizer is simply over selling the event to maximize their profits, not caring to deliver an experience. I would warn anyone to STAY AWAY from future events. Be Warned!

Overcrowded, the Nashville takeover in port Stanley sold more tickets than they had space for. Couldn’t even get into most venues and waited in line for over an hour to listen to artist not even from Nashville.

Nashville Takeover Burlington — Saturday June 13: Great concept, terrible execution

We were really excited for the Nashville Takeover event in Burlington on Saturday June 13, but unfortunately the experience was a complete letdown. The idea of shuffling between bars sounds amazing, but in reality it was nearly impossible to enjoy.

Right from the start, the organization felt lacking — when we picked up our information, the person assisting us didn’t know any details and said everything “should be outlined.”

We only made it to two bars. Joe Dogs was packed, with what seemed like one server covering an entire section. We squeezed in near the front and caught one song — the artists were actually great — but the crowding made it impossible to enjoy. We then tried downstairs, where you couldn’t hear anything happening.

At Port House, we finally got a table, but it was outside with almost zero seating. The bathrooms had no soap or toilet paper, and paying $18 for drinks without even having music experience was incredibly disappointing.

The biggest issue was the complete lack of organization or Nashville Takeover presence. There was no one coordinating the experience, no realistic way to move between venues, and no sense of the event we thought we were paying for.

We paid $60 per person and honestly would have rather paid more for one reserved table somewhere and a proper experience and smaller time period. Also tons of revenue lost on lack of service all around. We left around 8 PM and ended up having a much better time afterward just hanging out together.

The artists were talented and the idea is fun — but the execution needs a major overhaul. I would not recommend this event, especially for groups larger than two people. Total waste of money.
