Avoid at all costs!

If you're a small business owner, I would suggest you go to any company other than Beambox. What they are doing amounts to a scam. They send you a piece of tech for very cheap price and charge a monthly fee after the "free trial" ends. They won't let you cancel even unless you pay a high price to ship it across the country. They charge your card indefinitely with no way to buyout the hardware. I'm sure I've paid for the price of the hardware 10x over, have never used it, and can't even cancel. Do yourself a favor and avoid Beambox at all costs.

Used in 3 of our restaurants around…

Used in 3 of our restaurants around California. Helps us build our marketing database and support is quick to help.

Their access points are very easy to install and we were able to plug them in ourselves. It provides a great way to communicate with our customers and provide them with our latest promotions and offers. Admittedly, we probably don't use it as much as we should. If only there were more hours in the day!

We also use it for reputation management. It lets us compile our reviews from different sites and then manage them within a dashboard. It also alerts me when there is a new review, which is helpful. Each store manager has access and can manage their location independently, so its definitely a good solution if you operate multiple sites.

I would like to see more templates for SMS messaging campaigns. We are looking to try this more and I know lots of other brands are, so I'm sure it's in the pipeline.

Run the other way!

We own a restaurant in NY and wanted to try this product for email capture and we couldn’t find a company to beat the price (now I know why ugh). It took forever for the box to come and after it did, it didn’t work and we had a hard time getting anyone to help us. After stating in writing that we were not moving forward after the 30 day free trial as the box still wasn’t working at all. After a month of wasting our free trial time, we sent the box back and asked to not move forward with the actual service. We have come to find out they have been charging my us monthly for a year saying we never returned the equipment. We’ve had to report them to our credit card company to get our money back despite asking them to work with us directly to solve it. BEWARE
And to add to their reply: we did return it and was still charged. Not our fault they don’t know where it is or what happened. They were reported to Amex and have been blocked on our card. Again…BEWARE

Outside of this, if the Beambox hardware is not returned we are unable to close the account. This is communicated in our cancellation policy and it appears Libby informed you of this.

Nontheless, I appreciate how frustrating this is and the last thing we want to do is provide a negative experience.

Replying to your update: As with any product return, without a note or tracking number, we have no ability to locate your return. Our cancellation guide does make it clear that a tracking number is required.

Apologies that we couldn't do more, it certainly isn't reflective of the normal experience and we hope that we get a chance to support your business in the future.

Good system, shady policies.

Very good system, although a little pricy.

What they don't make clear is that if you cancel the trial or your subscription you are required to return hardware at your own expense before they will cancel your account.

We're currently the only solution that provides no set-up costs with our Beambox Plug & Play installation. All we ask is that it is returned if you decide not to go ahead.

We apologise if this wasn't clear enough and will review what we can do to improve it.

If you ever find yourself trying Beambox again, please let support know and we will provide you with an extended free trial period.

Please accept my apologies for your experience. Looking at your account (Star Tavern) it appears that you did not actually use your Beambox Plug & Play, which may be why you didn't get as much value as you hoped out of it.

Beambox is a fully featured marketing platform, with a whole lot of features. Email marketing, SMS automation, reputation management just to name a few! I'd be happy to get you set up with a customer training session to show you all that you can do.

Support is slightly slower today as it is Christmas Day, but we'll be back to normal speed shortly.

If you would ever like to get another trial and test Beambox out properly at your venue, just let us know.

Overcharged 2 months on the bounce…

Overcharged 2 months on the bounce despite apology and refund the previous month. Try live chat and expe t a response in hours hardly live.

It was resolved by the end of the day. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen again

Quick response from customer service

While Lock down prevented customers using our Beambox we were offered an extension. in the end our business did not need the service. Return was easy and customer service promptly resolved an error in billing.

Well

Well, we have been using Beambox for months now and while we haven't been able to use it at normal capacity, it has helped us massively in keeping our customers informed. Every time we open/close, we use Blasts to let everyone know. Imported our Mailchimp data which is easy enough.

Update/reply - thanks for taking the time to reply. Shame you didn’t so the same when I contacted you a week ago though! Only replying to negative reviews isn’t a good look. No need to bother with the Beambox now, it’s too late and we’ve made alternative arrangements. We needed something 3 weeks ago...

Signed up 31/10, as of today 21/11 we’ve still not received our Beambox. 😞 The premise is very good, but alas the service appears less so. We’ve had to make alternative arrangements now - a pity, as we’d potentially have rolled this out across all of our branches if they’d been able to deliver.

Your free trial also does not start until your Beambox is with you and we're also providing trial extensions due to the lockdown.

Horrible company. False advertising and NO refunds. Is NOT plug and play, NOT easy to set up and go for if you try and return ! They keep charging you until you can return back to England but took me 3 weeks to get damn answer on where to return .

Thanks for your feedback and please accept my apologies for your negative experience. We're always pushing to provide a better service and as part of that commitment, we are currently the only provider to offer no setup-costs with a 30 day free trial.

The only thing we ask is that the hardware is to be returned if you decide Beambox isn't for you. In this case, our support team can provide return labels for you to make this very easy. You don't appear to have requested this yet, however there isn't a time limit so just get in touch :)

The most important thing is that our team know, it looks like you only got in touch 2 days ago. With that being said, your last payment will still fall into our 30 day refund policy so please get in touch.

As we support thousands of independent venues through COVID-19, our support times are slower than usual. However, we still aim to get back to you within 1 business day.

Beware

Got this for our takeaway, we thought it would be a good way to increase our Facebook followers.
My experience was firstly the product we found a very low uptake in users only 2 to 3 likes on Facebook per week. Found that most users were staff from near by shops. Considering we would have around 30 walk in customers per day this was a very low uptake.
We tried the trial and gave it a few month and decided at £42 it wasn't for us. The box was deposed off not realising it would have to be returned.
It's not so simple to cancel, box needs to be returned and a form needs to be filled in, also to lower the tariff you must email the company. All the while they have your card details and continue to charge you making it very difficult to cancel on your end. It's like they know the product is not good and want to make it as difficult as possible to change tariff (you are automatically put on most expensive tariff after trial) and cancel product so can charge as long as possible as they know it will be cancelled as product is not good.
They also don't mention that you can pay £40 non return fee if you do not return box if you wish to cancel.
All in all a very expensive lesson learnt from us not to give any company your card details instead of a direct debit mandate.

A brilliant service

A brilliant service. Currently using Beambox in 3 venues in Florida, through the UniFi integration.

The pricing is right and the support is fast. We had some issues with our UniFi setup and the team went above and beyond to help us get online.

Couldn't recommend them enough!

Horrible experience

Horrible experience, utterly ridiculous.

Their marketing is unclear as they advertise their free plug & play Beambox. But they actually start taking money from your credit card and invents that it's only free for 30 days and then becomes a lease.

They never once use the word "lease" on their pricing page, they hide behind their terms of service because they know nobody will read it.

I ordered a beambox back in august 2019 and plugged it in, just to realize after a few days that it wasn't for me since it lacked 4G SIM capability. So I sent a cancellation email to their support thinking it would be over. But when I logged in to the account I saw that they had pulled 54 Euro from my credit card, they did this 4 days after I cancelled.

I try to talk to the support but they are just copy pasting their Terms of Service in the chat.

Edit: Just saw that Beambox saw my review and decided to post fake positive reviews about their own service (Buck Handy).
