Check tax/import duties if buying from UK - shockingly high!

Just purchased a dress and some shorts plus shipping charges from Beginning Boutique (order total $103). I cannot comment on the products yet as they are currently in transit. However, although the website does state that anyone buying from the UK is responsible for tax/import duties, I had no idea this would amount to nearly 40% of the total cost of my order. This additional charge is calculated and sent separately by email from DHL. I know I should have investigated this prior to ordering so not BB’s fault, but I imagine returning items (hopefully won’t need to) will not really be an option due to charges. Perhaps BB could make these high charges clearer on their website rather than stating check with local customs office or hiding it in free shipping for $50 part of their website.

Unfortunately we do not have any control over your local Customs Authority and any fees that are required to be paid to deliver your parcel are in accordance with your country's Import laws. This information is listed on our site at the below link, under "Taxes & Duties".

Clothes are not always the best…

Clothes are not always the best quality. They have also given me the incorrect refund previously and I’ve had to chase up the money. Not a customer focused company

In regards to the quality, we do try to provide multiple and varying images of our products and detailed descriptions to depict the garments in their truest form. As we stock a range of different designers, sizing, fit and fabrication can vary slightly from each brand.
