50 Days > No Resolution > No Confidence

I am extremely disappointed with Bern Europe yet again and their ongoing failure to resolve my issue.

Once again, communication has been minimal and inconsistent. Refund timeframes have repeatedly fluctuated, and I've received emails with suspicious sign-offs, the latest message (received Thursday 12/02/26) promising 2 working days for the refund to finally be in my account was supposedly from "Gordon," yet
the email signature was from "James." This lack of professionalism only adds to the growing concern. As of today, 3 working days later, no refund.

This now brings the total to over 50 days of very poor customer service. This is despite the fact that I responded to their reply on Trustpilot, answered their questions clearly via the email address provided, and stated that I was simply trying to reach a resolution either by receiving the correct product I had paid for or the refund that has been promised time and time again with the "please allow 5 working days" (26/01/26), please allow 2 working days" (12/02/26) that haven't followed through.

Instead, l've been sent around in circles with delays and vague responses, seemingly in the hope that I'll give up and walk away. This is completely unbelievable.

I am now left with no choice but to pursue other consumer rights options in order to recover either the product I paid for or the refund repeatedly promised.

Very poor service

Very poor service. Bought a helmet online which never arrived. Bern told me there was nothing they could do and I should follow up with Royal Mail. Royal Mail said the opposite that it was the seller who needed to contact them. Despite many attempts still no progress but €110 poorer and still no helmet.

Be aware of additional import costs in the EU

Despite the website mentions all prices includes shipping to EU (Belgium) & VAT charges. I'm being charged an additional customs fee for about 50€.

Contacting customer service seems impossible related to my order #6048. I've ordered at the beginning of January & still waiting for a response about a reimbursement of the additional charges (after numerous reminders).

Avoid!! - no communication, wrong item and no return!

I bought a helmet and then they send me the wrong one after 3 weeks. ORDER #6055.

Then when I want to return it for the color i want, they just DONT MESSAGE ME BACK.

Strongly recommend avoiding this company!
I hate the company now.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Bern Europe. My order (BRN-#6059) has still not arrived, and the customer service has been nothing short of appalling.

I have sent 23 emails and received only one response, which was over seven days ago. Since then—nothing. No updates, no apology, no resolution.

I even reached out on social media, but unfortunately that only connected me with the American side of the company, who confirmed they cannot help with European orders. As a last resort, I contacted senior members of staff directly on LinkedIn, and unsurprisingly, I received no response there either.

At this point, it’s hard not to feel like this company is operating like a scam. The complete lack of communication or accountability is unacceptable, and this has genuinely been one of the worst online shopping experiences of my life.

I am now requesting an immediate full refund for my order. This situation has gone far beyond reasonable delays or mistakes—it's simply unprofessional and unfair to customers.

Bern Europe: refund my order and get your customer service in order.

No response, no delivery after 1,5 months!

I ordered a helmet on the 28th of november and I didn't receive it yet. I am really pissed of, because I didn't had this helmet on my snowboard vacation as we speak.

I sent 3 e-mails and they didn't respond.

Don't order!!!!!

Sorry about the rubbish performance here.

We ships lots of helmets across Europe every day without any issues. For some reason, yours got stuck in transit along the way.

We've processed a full refund for this.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

The helmet was the wrong colour, with small scuffs and gouges all over it, consisting of cheap materials and poorly fitting parts. I would still have been a bit disappointed and unsure of it's safety if it was £20, but it was 4 times that price. Anyway, I emailed them to arrange a return and refund and they didn't get back to me for almost two months, after multiple attempts to contact them, by which time the returns deadline had passed. I expressed this to them and have heard nothing since. While that monstrocity of a helmet will never sit on my head as I value my wellbeing, at least I have a cheaply made reminder of my idiocy for falling for what I personally could only describe as a borderline scam. Don't fall for it, they are without a shadow of a doubt, the most entirely useless 'company' I have ever dealt with.

No customer service

No customer service. Set up a return, which was approved, sent it off, heard nothing. No refund no discount on website. Now they have the helmet and my money. I would advise to avoid their website.

J ai fait une demande d échange car le casque était trop grand et depuis 15 jours pas de nouvelles. Ils indiquent que vous allez recevoir des instructions mais rien. J en suis à 5 relances et toujours rien. Il me reste 15 jours pour l envoyer et vu les autres avis j’ai peur d engager d autres frais et rester avec un casque qui n’est pas à ma taille et qui coûte tout de même 140€

Avoid - no Comms and difficult to return items

We bought two helmets in different sizes trying to confirm we had the right fit.
The wrong size helmet we sought to return. We raised the return via the website and waited for it to be approved. No reply to the request or subsequent chasing emails.
Finally got a reply once we messaged the Instagram channel threatening trading standards.
Return sat with Bern for almost three weeks before being processed, minus the £5 restock fee! Chased via email and finally Instagram again before the refund was processed.
Strongly recommend avoiding this company!

Exact same experience as everyone else. Helmet wasn't to my liking, I asked to return the helmet. Had no replies after 2 weeks of chasing. Spent £7.99 sending the helmet back to Northern Ireland and £5 on a 'restocking fee' (this isn't legal). Have had no confirmation of them receiving the helmet...very worried as I paid £80 for it. No one is answering the phone despite stating that its manned all day on weekdays, also had no emails reply since. I'm going to go ahead and escalate this with my bank and trading standards. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Similar experience to everyone else - untrustworthy company

Similar experience to everyone else. Ordered a helmet, was too small. Asked about getting a refund and they said they charged a "restocking fee". Pointed out this was not legal then they started to ignore me.
Returned the helmet at my own expense, they have received it but have still not refunded me. Will be contacting my bank and trading standards via citizens advice. I advise others to do the same!

It's a shame, because I was actually considering ordering other things from them but will make sure to review them everywhere so others can avoid being ripped off!

Update - eventually (after writing this review) I got a partial refund. They still insist on this restocking fee despite it costing ~£15 to post the helmet back to them. When I continued to query they started ignoring me again. Shockingly unprofessional outfit, I still recommend everyone steers clear of them!

Return shipment impossible with online purchases

Zero stars in fact! Ordered a helmet online, which ended up being too small. They do not provide return shipping labels. Rather, they send you an address in Ireland and make you pay the return shipping fees with the promise to refund the money. I shipped the helmet from Germany (with tracking number) for 25 EUR! Never saw a refund although I sent Bern the receipt several times and sent repeated reminders. German shipment requirements didn't make it better: 2 weeks later, DHL returned the package and made me pay another 25 EUR penalty fees because the box was "not packaged appropriately" (I used the same wrapping it came with. Ended up giving up on the whole endeavor after paying 70 EUR for a helmet that doesn't fit and an extra 50 EUR in shipping costs. Definitely don't buy from them online!!!

Schlechter Kundenservice!! Haben so lange Mails bzgl. Rückabwicklung rausgezögert, dass - trotz Kontaktaufnahme mit Klarna - Mahngebühren entstanden sind! Nachdem sich die Fachabteilung bei Klarna eingeschaltet hat, haben sie endlich geantwortet!! Viel schlimmer - auch wenn es Berne Europe heißt: Teurer Retourerückversand nach Nordlirland, Einlagerungsgebühr 5£ und 10£ für jede Verpackung wenn sie beschädigt ist! Auch wenn man sie ordnungsgemäß zurück geschickt hat kann man also nie nachweisen ob sie heile angekommen ist und mögliche Versandschäden der Verpackung werden dem Kunden zu Lasten gelegt! Zusätzlich falsche Rechnungsstellung über Klarna!! Angeblich kamen zu den 108,10 € noch Versandkosten hinzu, obwohl diese in der Berne Rechnung bereits dort enthalten sind!! Soll statt 108,10€ 125,95€ zahlen - wofür weiß ich bis heute nicht!!! Teuerster Helm ever! Nie wieder!!!

Awful. Should be shut down for their conduct of business.

I should have read the reviews. First, their "bike helmet" came with a disclaimer that it is a "multi-sport" helmet that is not approved for bikes. Real trouble to get a refund. They even have special address that cost a lot more to send to. Haven't gotte a hold of any real customer service apart from autogenerated emails. Their helmets are not even cheap. If you want their helmet I suggest buying from a reputable retailer never from berneurope.com. I bought my helmet in May and still chasing the refund. I assume I'll have to get my refund through Paypal resolution centre.
