As a graduate student, it's hard to get a sense of what career options are actually out there. Everyone around you seems to be doing something different, and it's easy to feel lost or behind. What I appreciated most was the quality of the questions. They felt quite different from the usual job-search discussions I have with ChatGPT: less focused on matching me to a vacancy or generating the “right” answer, and more on making me stop and think properly about what I actually want.

The process did not necessarily point me towards a career direction I had never considered before. Its value was subtler, and for me probably more useful: it helped me put into words my expectations, doubts, motivations, hopes and preferences.

The system blew me away! The insights generated from my prompts were spot on, and really gave me a lot to think about in terms of what I want out of my career. It helped crystallize a concrete plan to actively build the future direction I want to go in. It also helped show me that one or two of the positions I thought I was interested in were not always the best fit, after analysing what I enjoy and don’t enjoy about my current position.

Using voice prompts was novel to me, but I felt the information I gave when ‘talking’ was far more valuable than typing when I had time to think about a reply.
