Fake compoany, doesnt send books, doesnt reply to email and their telephone number on their website is actually Googles San Fran Office.

Have taken my money and no not respond

This company is NOT REAL. They used to be a reputable book supplier but it appears that they closed in 2023. Unfortunately, I did not realize this when I went to purchase some books from them.

Do NOT be fooled by their website, which comes up when you search for The Book Depository. I was fooled, and I gave my debit card details to purchase 2 children's picture books. I received a confirmation that my order was placed but never received the books. My bank confirmed that the purchase was never made, weirdly. I have sent email after email to BookDP asking what is happening, where my books are etc. I have had no replies. Because of this, I have had to cancel my debit card to ensure they do not do anything with the details. I believe this "company" is actually harvesting credit and debit card details. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY.

Reiterating what others on here have said: This is a fake website and a scam. I ordered a book, received a confirmation email. A month later, no book and no replies to four emails asking what's happening. I'm usually so careful about scams and pretty savvy, but it just goes to show, no one is above getting duped. My card hasn't been charged (yet), but I imagine that may be because the perpetrators are more interested in data harvesting than outright theft. Anyway, I've reported the website to the appropriate UK authority - hopefully it will be taken down in the UK soon.

Avoid at all costs. I ordered a book on 2nd January and never received it.
I have sent emails but have not received any replies.

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. I believe they are stealing people's credit cards and information then selling it off to a third party. Why do I think this? When you make an order you won't hear anything for weeks besides a confirmation email telling you that your card won't be charged until the order is dispatched. I read reviews and cancelled my card after ordering, yet I still ended up with the books from Amazon that had been gifted to me from a random person. I have contacted the company to return the books but they will not respond to any emails and there is no phone number to contact. Something very sketchy is happening here, do not risk your credit card and your personal information with these people.

Same as evryone else also got scammed by them. Never received the book and they ignored all my messages

Scam website. No customer service. ordered book 4 weeks ago. No response, no record of order on My Account but I did get an order confirmation.

This company is a scam. You will not receive a confirmation email or any product. DO NOT USE

Ordered book way before Christmas. Have chased several time but have not received a response or the book

Fake website, beware. Bought a couple of books end Nov, received a confirmation email but order is still in ‘processing’. Sent 3 emails chasing this with no reply. The refund policy page does not have any physical address or email for exchanges or refunds. Luckily not been charged for the purchase. Have called my bank to report this. Should have done my research first.

Update - Six weeks later, not delivered yet, no reply from customer service. Don't use this website.

Same as everyone else, do not use this website. Ordered a book more than two weeks ago; supposed to be a Christmas present for my son but I've had no communication from them apart from the confirmation email. I emailed them, no reply. Do not use this website, awful service.

Awful service. Never received my book in time. No responses from them. Requested a full refund. Should have gone with my instinct and bought from Amazon.

Yep same as all the other reviews. Ordered a book for a special person and have heard a thing even though I've written to them. I think I've paid by credit card so may be able to get it back. Shame on this company. I was happy that I'd found this book so obviously I stopped looking. Looks like my special person won't be getting a Christmas present

Placed an order on 1st October which never arrived. Have emailed twice to follow up but no reply.

I ordered a copy of a Hardcover book, costing nearly £90, on 27/09 and have to date recieved no updates, no contact and no book.

I will be speaking to my Bank to reclaim the funds paid.

Order placed on 11th October, no confirmation email received. Emailed them twice since, for update, no reply received. Order still shows as 'processing' on my account today, 25th October.

Placed an order over 4 weeks ago and it is still showing as processing with zero email updates. I have emailed them 3 times over the last 3 weeks to request an update, and have not had a single reply.
