Wir möchten klarstellen, dass Sie das Mailing bereits mit der ersten E-Mail ganz einfach deaktivieren können. Zudem versenden wir lediglich eine einzige Erinnerung.

Ihre Bewertung bezieht sich leider nicht auf unser Produkt oder unseren Support, sondern ausschließlich auf die Bewertungs Erinnerung. Für andere Kunden ist sie daher wenig hilfreich.

Nachtrag vom 29.09.2025: Die Bewertungsanfrage ist kein Mailing zu Produktangeboten oder Updates, die beim Kauf ausgewählt werden können. Bitte beachte außerdem, dass es zu zeitlichen Verzögerungen kommen kann, wenn eine Abmeldung erfolgt, während bereits ein Mailing geplant ist. In diesem Fall kann es zu einer Überschneidung kommen.

Hello and thank you for your feedback!

We use Paddle for sales processing because Paddle takes care of all tax requirements worldwide. As a small business, we couldn't afford to do this ourselves (and neither could our tax office). This allows us to focus on the further development of Borlabs Cookie.

We regret that this has resulted in a 3-star rating.

Regarding PDF invoices: Since we are not the seller, but Paddle acts as the payment provider in the background, it is their responsibility to issue the invoice. However, you can easily save the invoice from Paddle as a PDF using the print function of your browser. This makes it unnecessary to provide a separate PDF.

Next year, we will be able to switch to a new system from Paddle that automatically generates PDF invoices.

Thank you for your detailed feedback and for having been a customer since 2018.

We would like to clarify some points regarding your criticism:

- Your old plan effectively cost you about 12 cents per website per month. After the price adjustment, the cost is around 44 cents per website per month. While that is indeed an increase of 32 cents, we believe it is still extremely inexpensive, especially considering the further development of Borlabs Cookie over the last seven years.

- Over this time, you have directly benefited from continuous updates, new features, and improved usability. All of which require significant investment in development and support. Despite this, you have made it clear in your support communication that you are not interested in dialogue and have chosen not to respond to our explanations.

- Your suggestion that we use "dark patterns" in the cancellation process is something we must reject. The 20-second delay before confirming cancellation is there to prevent accidental cancellations. Many customers in the past unintentionally canceled their entire subscription when they only intended to remove a single website from their license. This safeguard was introduced specifically to protect customers from such mistakes, not to manipulate them.

We regret that after seven years of using Borlabs Cookie, you apparently do not value the work that has gone into the product and are unwilling to continue for just 32 cents more per website per month.

We wish you all the best moving forward, even if you decide to use another solution.

Uns ist bewusst, dass Preisänderungen immer ein sensibles Thema sind. In Ihrem Fall möchten wir noch einmal die Entwicklung transparent darstellen: Über mehrere Jahre haben Sie für eine Volumenlizenz mit 25 Websites lediglich 124,12 Euro bezahlt, das entspricht weniger als 5 Euro pro Website und Jahr. Zum Vergleich: Eine einzelne Lizenz kostet bei uns 49 Euro, die aktuelle 25er-Volumenlizenz liegt seit 2024 bei 229 Euro. Als treuer Bestandskunde konnten Sie diese Konditionen sogar noch ein Jahr länger behalten, bevor nun die regulären Preise greifen.

Mit Version 3.0 haben wir unser Plugin erheblich weiterentwickelt. Neue Funktionen wie Scanner, Translation Service, Bibliothek, IAB TCF-Unterstützung, GeoIP-Datenbank und weitere Features bringen kontinuierliche Kosten auf unserer Seite mit sich, die im ursprünglichen Preis nie berücksichtigt waren.

Darüber hinaus investieren wir massiv in die Kompatibilität und Stabilität: Allein in den letzten 12 Monaten haben wir über 8983 Micro-Updates an den Paketen in unserer Bibliothek vorgenommen, um ein reibungsloses Zusammenspiel mit Themes und Plugins sicherzustellen – ein Aufwand, der für unsere Nutzer meist unsichtbar bleibt, aber entscheidend für die Zuverlässigkeit von Borlabs Cookie ist.

Wir verstehen Ihren Ärger über die Preisänderung, möchten jedoch betonen, dass die bisherigen Konditionen außergewöhnlich günstig waren und langfristig nicht haltbar sind. Mit den aktuellen Preisen stellen wir sicher, dass wir Borlabs Cookie nachhaltig weiterentwickeln und Ihnen auch in Zukunft eine verlässliche Lösung bieten können.

Wir nutzen Paddle für die Verkaufsabwicklung, da Paddle sich um alle steuerlichen Anforderungen weltweit kümmert. Als kleines Unternehmen könnten wir das in dieser Form gar nicht leisten (und auch unser Steuerbüro nicht). So können wir uns auf die Weiterentwicklung von Borlabs Cookie konzentrieren.

Im Bestellprozess sowie auch nachträglich kannst du deine USt-IdNr. hinterlegen, damit dir der Nettobetrag berechnet wird. Eine Anleitung dazu findest du in unserer Wissensdatenbank. Sollten dabei Schwierigkeiten auftreten, steht dir unser Support-Team jederzeit zur Verfügung.

Leider hast du bislang weder ein Support-Ticket eröffnet noch auf unsere E-Mails reagiert. Es scheint, als hättest du kein Interesse daran, mit uns in einen Dialog zu treten oder uns dein konkretes Problem zu schildern. Stattdessen hast du eine negative Bewertung hinterlassen, die aus unserer Sicht nicht gerechtfertigt ist und die alle Informationen ignoriert, die wir dir bereits vor und nach dem Kauf bereitgestellt haben.

We would like to correct your assessment and explain a few background details:

You wrote that it is not possible to change the VAT ID at Paddle and that Paddle is merely a payment provider. This is not accurate: Paddle is the merchant of record and is therefore subject to certain tax regulations.

- Change within the same country: If it had only been a matter of changing the VAT ID within the same country, Paddle would have been able to do so.

- Change to another country: In your case, however, it was a matter of changing both the VAT ID and the country. From a tax perspective, this constitutes a different company in a different country. Such a change is not possible with an ongoing contract (subscription).

Please note: We have no influence on the sales process and tax handling; these are entirely the responsibility of Paddle.

It is important to us to emphasize that we care deeply about our customers. We understand that the price increase may seem incomprehensible to you at first glance. Here is the background:

- Since the end of 2023, there are no longer any renewal discounts.
- We adjusted our prices at the beginning of 2024.
- We exempted existing customers from the price increase for one year to reward their loyalty.

Your license was not marked for the price increase at the time of renewal, but would have been affected shortly thereafter anyway.

You have been a customer for a long time and have witnessed the development of Borlabs Cookie. This further development incurs ongoing costs (e.g., through the scanner with each use). The old pricing models did not allow these costs to be covered in the long term. At the same time, our team has grown from a single person to 14 employees—ensuring continuous development and reliable support.

We hope this explanation helps to better understand the situation.
