I suffer sporadic mutism. When it hits, life is most depressing, but I WILL NOT GIVE IN. This time it was time to learn BSL so at least I can sign to my wife.
This course is VERY affordable. Captivating, educational, and enlightening. It is the reason why the phrase 'Just Do It' was invented.
Stop thinking. Just do it now.

I was born profoundly deaf, but my parents chose to send me to a hearing school, Now in my 70s, the little hearing I had is deteriorating. british-sign.co.uk is affordable, very infomative and easy to follow. Excellent course. Thank you so much for making the study of BSL accessable to all.

Fantastic course, I'm going deaf and find it hard to learn new things. Even though I have arthritis and dyslexia, this course was very clear and easy to follow and learnt at my own pace. It's also good that you get to keep the full course when finished so can look back on it.

As a sixth form student with a keen interest in broadening my communicative repertoire, I recently embarked upon an introductory course in British Sign Language, kindly recommended by one of my teachers. Though I only commenced the course last week, I have already completed it and now possess a foundational ability to both sign and comprehend key elements of BSL. The course itself is remarkably well-structured, with an engaging delivery that renders the content both memorable and enjoyable. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to individuals of all ages seeking to enrich their linguistic and cultural understanding.

I absolutely loved this introductory course. This was something I've always wanted to do and I cannot recommend it enough. I thought it covered every possible everyday situation and the presentation and layout were excellent. I also felt that the support was super. Highly recommended in every way! Thank you! 🌠

I had a great experience learning sign language with british-sign!

Really enjoyable and clear. A little tricky re-capping on previous sections and signs learned, but very useful overall. It’s recommended to spend at least a week on each section, which makes sense. An excellent resource

Taking an online course in British Sign Language (BSL) under the guidance of Simon Harvey was an absolute delight. Simon's expertise, passion, and dedication to teaching BSL shone through every aspect of the course. His approachable demeanour and patience created a comfortable learning environment, making even the most complex signs and concepts accessible to learners of all levels.

Simon's instructional methods were incredibly effective, blending theoretical knowledge with practical application seamlessly. He provided thorough explanations, clear demonstrations, and valuable feedback, ensuring that every student grasped the intricacies of BSL with confidence. His commitment to inclusivity and cultural sensitivity enriched the learning experience, fostering not just language acquisition but also a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Deaf community.

Moreover, Simon's organisation demonstrated professionalism and efficiency at every turn. From registration to course materials and technical support, everything was well-organised and user-friendly, enhancing the overall learning journey.

I highly recommend Simon Harvey as a BSL tutor and commend his organisation for their outstanding commitment to excellence in Deaf education. Whether you're a beginner or seeking to improve your signing skills, Simon's courses promise an enriching and rewarding experience that transcends mere language acquisition.

good for basic beginner signs, needs updating or options for regional signs.

Loved doing this course. Easy to follow and wide cariety of topics . Pity no other levels covered as this was such a well thought out approach to teaching with the mirror tool/on line forum etc. I was astonished I remembered the signs so well as so much was covered absolutely worth every penny and would highly recommend

it was very informative about BSL

Excellent format, superbly user-friendly and I feel quite privileged to have had the opportunity to learn some signing at last.
I didn't know what to expect but can say it is a very rewarding experience which I would urge anyone to do.
I would say it really is also something children, both non-hearing and hearing, would benefit from learning from a young age. What better way to make people feel included and less alienated than to be able to communicate with them on their terms.

I did this course in 21/22 and it was just the best thing I’ve done. The pay it forward part of it is very kind and welcome - and at the grand old age of 50 I’ve learned a new language. I’m getting more deaf as time marches on (2 hearing aids atm) so this will be so helpful in times to come. Wonderful
Wonderful wonderful

The videos are split into easy segments and assesments that gradually build up your knowledge at your own pace. And its an affordable introduction into BSL.

I would definitely highly recommend using this course / website. Helped me to relearn everything that I have forgotten.

I'm so glad I found this course. I always wanted to learn sign language. It took me three days to learn and pass all assessments. It was worth it. Thank you for making this available free and online.

This was an amazing course, the videos were very clear an easy to understand. I feel I have improved so much in BSL with this course!
