Be careful when buying a 'factory…
Be careful when buying a 'factory second'. Their descriptions are misleading as they dont tell you it is potentially 'refurbished' as i found out when i contacted Samsung. They also try and avoid committing to their statutory warranty obligations. Don't let any retailer tell you something has a "one year warranty". Suffice to say I'll be taking BuySmarte to Fair Trading for a refund (my Samsung TV didn't even last 2 years) and will expend all the resources at my disposal to ensure the ACCC stop their misleading and deceptive conduct.
I'm giving them 2 stars as opposed to 1 because although they have completely mishandled this complaint and are avoiding their legislative obligations, you can sometimes buy brand new products from here cheaper than most other retailers.
Smarte Buys customer service
I called Smarte Buys customer service after we had a fridge delivered that froze everything in our fridge, ruining most of our food. I spoke to a man named Tarik who was initially assertive but gave us two options: a full refund or paying a further $200 for a new fridge.
The next day I called again to explain that neither option was suitable for us, as we need a working fridge without paying more money. Tarik began to raise his voice and said things like, “I’m not going to play your little games” and “You can make all the threats you want, I don’t care.” and "just say it, you want a new fridge, just admit it"
Apparently, mentioning Fair Trading is considered a “threat” that warrants an aggressive response.
We just want a working fridge and some understanding for the situation, not someone who becomes confrontational and won’t let me speak.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Microwave was faulty out of box! Got clearance from Sharp for it to be returned day after delivery for exchange with an APPROVED case number. Store insisted that it have an 'RA number', (even though store policy states one is not needed for faulty returns within 14 days). Called Sharp again and was again told that one was not needed within 14 days faulty item returns and store was to call them if they had a problem with it. Store refused to do so. Days between emails ensued and microwave is now out of stock. Will need to purchase elsewhere at higher price. Went to Fair Trading. After doing so, the store told me 'I' needed to return the microwave to them to be 'inspected', (even though Sharp has deemed it faulty) and the store policy states they cover return shipping of faulty items! 'Buy Smarte' now have to deem it faulty since they don't have an RA number and they won't cover shipping.
EVEN THOUGH SHARP HAS DEEMED IT SO AND I SENT THE STORE A RECORDING OF THE SOUND IT'S MAKING UPON THEIR REQUEST!
(I didn't need to as I already had it approved by Sharp to be returned).
They refused to call Sharp as requested by them if they have an issue. Why? This should have been a simple exchange! I now need to take this to the Tribunal. They said they have trouble returning things to Sharp that's why they need an RA number. Why do they have trouble? So had I got another brand, I wouldn't have needed one? Their problem returning items to Sharp, is not mine, yet it's become my problem! I should not be financially burdened for this business not taking the microwave back the day after I received it! This should have been so simple! Just go with a much bigger business with a well-known name! Once bitten, twice shy!
I do have screenshots of the businesses's policy as stated on website but can't share them here but have done so on Google review.

At least make an effort to clean your second hand goods AKA factory seconds in Buy Smarte world. Lucky dip with this company I think. Good luck punters!!
Beware the "Factory Second"!!
I bought a "Factory Second" soundbar and it was clearly second hand. They did not even bother to try to make it look new! The power cords were just wrapped around themselves, there were marks on the bottom where the previous owner had them resting. Their response was just to restate that it was a factory second.
Not what I paid for
While delivery was prompt, the monitor I purchased was scratched and the colour for whites was a slightly off pink colour. When I flagged this for a refund I was told I would have to cover the shipping costs. They also took more than two weeks to respond to my refund request.

Samsung TV has broken!

I bought a Samsung TV from you 3 years ago. Today, the screen went black and only sound is coming out. It’s turning on and then off again. It’s not functioning properly. Under Australian Consumer Law, it is reasonable to expect a Samsung TV to last for more than 3 years.
I’d like a replacement please.
I’ve emailed and no one has replied.

Bought a new fridge online and had it delivered free of charge the very next day! Fantastic service.

This is a smaller chain I believe and I initially went to them based on price but hand on heart, John the man who not only helped me with my decision but was incredibly helpful and communicative when I needed more information. I cannot recommend this company enough. Unlike the larger chains they just went over and beyond in their service. I won't be going anywhere else from now on. Just for the record I bought a Samsung frame TV. I have no relationship with this company whatsoever.
A great discovery
A great discovery - as long as you are happy with the restricted range.Purchased TV auguat 2022. Far cheaper than those 2 companies that advertise on tv and the delivery was quick as well (ordered Sunday night delivered Wed).

Very happy with the service I received from Buy Smarte. Quick and efficient. What I wasn't happy about was the Courier service. When my speaker system arrived there was a large dent in the packaging, presumably occurring during transportation. Not impressed!
