False Reporting and Unclear Charges - A Frustrating Experience with Caine & Weiner
I had an extremely frustrating experience with Caine & Weiner. They reported an incorrect balance of $1,572 on my credit report, claiming I owed $32. However, I had already fully paid Checkr $1,539.96 on January 11, 2025, and Checkr confirmed the payment. Despite knowing this, Caine & Weiner went ahead and reported false and misleading balances on my account.
While on the phone and in an email, Caine & Weiner claimed I owed $456.81, they fabricated a $32 charge on my credit report. This discrepancy has caused significant confusion and harm to my business credit score.
When I spoke with a representative, I was told that the facts I presented, including the confirmation of full payment from Checkr, were irrelevant. The agent made it clear that Caine & Weiner would continue to pursue this matter and potentially damage my business credit score, regardless of the full payment I had made.
I have receipts and email correspondence to back my claims and have already filed a formal complaint with the CFPB and disputed the charges with Experian. Unfortunately, these discrepancies have negatively impacted my business credit score.
It’s concerning to see practices like this being used, and I hope my review helps others be cautious. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I highly recommend filing a dispute with the credit bureaus and reporting them to the appropriate authorities.
