Report received doesn't contain advertised data

The car report I received doesn't contain data that is advertised on the website or data is inaccurate as follows:
• No mileage included.
• No vehicle history, like ownership, registration or km. Vehicle timeline section shows generic safety recalls.
• The car model was not correctly detected. It said TOYOTA YARIS VERSO, but it was a YARIS CROSS.
• Engine details and car data in general are inaccurate and differ from the actual vehicle ID booklet.
• No details included about the features installed on the car by the manufacturer.
• Market value estimate is way underestimated for a 2023 car of its class.
• From the 50 safety recalls records listed, only 3 were applicable for Yaris Cross out of which only 2 were specifically for this make and 0 applied to the country this car was sold in.

I contacted the company requested a refund, but so far I have received no response.

Based on my experience, I don't recommend this service because they use scare tactics to get you to buy the report (eg. safety recalls) and then they offer little useful information or even wrong info about the car.

Angel - you've been refunded in full today, and I've replied to the email you sent us on 5 July. You were right to chase, and right that we never answered. There's no excuse for that part.

On the report: our decoder identified your Yaris Cross as a Yaris Verso and couldn't establish the build year. That's our error, and it's the one that matters - get the vehicle wrong and the valuation and specification sitting on top of it are wrong with it.

Where I'd push back is the suggestion that nothing was actually checked. The recall, stolen-vehicle and registration lookups behind a report are real queries. But Romania doesn't publish odometer or ownership records the way some registries do - for a Romanian-registered car, that history largely doesn't exist to be shown. That's a limit of the market.

On recalls: we deliberately show campaigns that touch your model family rather than filtering to a single country, because cars cross borders constantly and a recall hidden by a country filter is a worse
outcome than one you can rule out in a few seconds. Nothing is gated behind that section and there's no upsell attached to it - we'd have no reason to inflate it.

We keep improving the product from exactly the kind of feedback your review left. I want to thank you for that!

Before you pay they make it look like…

Before you pay they make it look like they have some useful info but after you pay it is all pretty useless. Mostly claims of overdue maintenance.

Mr. Kostiuk, I'd like to refund you, and I can't find your order from the name here. If you reply to this or email info@carlytics.eu with the VIN you checked, I'll refund it as soon as possible, no questions.

On the substance: where we hold no service history for a car, the maintenance section falls back to what's due by age and typical intervals.

Send me the VIN and I can tell you exactly what we had and didn't have for it.

False report given. No response from support

The report about a car was wrong. Other vin report site showed a 100k km mileage scam, this site didn't show anything. What triggered my suspicions is that the report showed the wrong parameters of the car.

Grantas - you've been refunded in full today, and all three credits on the bundle have been cancelled.

On the report: you're right about the mileage, and it's the part that matters most. We had no odometer records for that Škoda. That's a coverage gap on our side, not a judgement call — and catching exactly that is what a VIN check is for.

All the database checks were performed for this VIN.

Thank you for pushing on it. It's a fair review.

Incorrect and unreliable VIN report – no response from support

I paid EUR 10.77 for a vehicle VIN report, but the information provided was clearly incorrect and internally contradictory.

The report identified a Toyota C-HR as a 2000 model, described the same vehicle as electric and also as having a 1.5-litre engine, while another section listed a 1,798 cc engine. It also included impossible statistics, such as a 9,080% vehicle inspection pass rate.

This cannot be considered a reliable vehicle history report. The information was misleading and completely unusable.

I contacted the company twice and requested a refund, but so far I have received no response.

Based on my experience, I do not recommend this service.

GI, thanks for updating this, and for being fair about it. I'm glad it was sorted in a couple of days.

One thing worth saying, because it isn't obvious from the outside: the stolen-vehicle and inspection lookups are keyed to the VIN itself rather than to the model name, so those ran against your actual car and the answers were real, whatever our decoder called it.

We are constantly improving our product and the part of the decoder responsible for this class of error is being rebuilt, and specific reports like yours are what aim that work.

Thank you for your feedback.

To be straight about why: workshop service records aren't published by every country. Therefore most of that data sits with the garages and manufacturers who did the work. What does exist, and what varies enormously between countries, is periodic technical inspection records. Some national databases publish them per vehicle together with the odometer reading taken at each test; plenty publish nothing at all. So for one car we can show years of dated inspection and mileage entries, and for the identical model registered a border away, nothing. That's the difference, and it isn't one we can close by wanting to.

On "scam": a scam doesn't refund people. Send the VIN you checked to info@carlytics.eu and your money is sent back as soon as possible.

What a report is actually built to surface is odometer history and rollback analysis, registration and country trail, inspection records, accident markers, open recalls, factory build data, valuation and known model faults - where those records exist for the car.

Hoping to hear from you!

Juha, both reports have been refunded.

You're right about the model. We are constantly improving our product and the part of the decoder responsible for this class of error is being rebuilt, and specific reports like yours are what aim that work.

What does still hold in that situation is the stolen-vehicle and inspection side. Those lookups are keyed to the VIN itself rather than to the model we named, so they ran against your actual car.

Thanks for your feedback and flagging it plainly.

Scam. Has info for non-existing VINs.

Do NOT buy from this platform. This is 100% AI and a scam. Want to know how to check it? Insert a fake VIN number. Now insert several fake VIN numbers. It will always give a preview of having found the car and having critical information about it. For cars that do not exist. I would love to know how to report this website for it to be taken down.

You've found something real, so let me be straight rather than defensive about it.

A VIN isn't a database key. The first eight characters are a published international standard encoding the manufacturer, the model family and often the engine, which means any correctly-formed sequence decodes to something, whether or not a car was ever built with it. That's why your invented VINs come back looking recognised. And it's why the preview then shows critical records: those are matched against whatever model the sequence decodes to, so a plausible manufacturer prefix pulls real recalls for that model.

So the behaviour you describe is accurate, and it's a flaw. A VIN we cannot corroborate against any actual record should say so plainly rather than present as a found vehicle. That's on us, and it's the change worth making out of this.

Two corrections, though. It isn't AI, it's deterministic decoding of a published standard, which is exactly why it's so willing to decode nonsense. And if you did buy a report, send the VIN to info@carlytics.eu and you'll be refunded as soon as possible.

Thank you for your feedback.

Incorrect data

Bought report for WBA8Y31030G449737.

In reality there was 0 vehicle specific info, no records. Only some generic data about 2020 BMW 330i which is not even the right model or year, engine was also incorrect. Other sites show correct model and year so it's not a problem with the VIN.

Asked for a refund, got no response.
After i posted this review they contacted me and gave me a refund.

On mileage: we hold odometer records only for countries whose inspection databases publish them.

Yes, we use AI, but only in the last step of the process, to overview the information gathered from our databases.

Петър, I've found your reports. You checked two GLA-Class VINs on 10 July.

On price: at €8.90 a report we're among the lowest-priced VIN checks available, well under what the better-known services charge for a single check - no subscription, no tiered packages, no upsell inside the report. One price for everything we hold on that vehicle.

The stolen-vehicle and inspection lookups are keyed to the VIN itself rather than to the model name, so those ran against your actual car and the answers were real.

Write to info@carlytics.eu and we'll refundin full. That class of self-contradiction was fixed in a release this week.

They did refund me after leaving this review.

They got no information about the car I requested, despite marking there was available information, and instead present you with general statistics about the model, just so you feel you got something, which literally nobody needs.
When I wrote an e-mail asking about refund, for a service that I don't believe fulfilled it's promise, I didn't get any response.

Hi Samuel,

thank you for taking the time to write this, and I'm sorry it left you feeling this way.

Let me be straight about what happened on our side: when you run a VIN with us, it goes through every database we have - VIN decode, recalls, the stolen-vehicle check, and registration records. Your VIN was checked against all of them. The checks genuinely ran across our full set of sources; there was simply less on record for your particular vehicle than the page led you to expect, and setting that expectation wrong is on us.

Many buyers come to us specifically for the recall and stolen checks - that's typically the highest-stakes data on these reports, and where we put most of our work.

I looked into your case - we did refund you in full (€8.90) on June 21, back to your original payment method.

We keep improving the product from exactly the kind of feedback your review left, even when it stings to read. If that refund hasn't landed on your statement, or anything's still open, email me directly at info@carlytics.eu and I'll sort it personally.
