Could not care less
We have been waiting for years for an EWS 1 form in order to sell our home. Charles White have failed to provide one, or to give any indication of when they will do so. Their staff have been unhelpful in the extreme, refusing to respond to calls and emails. We are stuck in a dirty, poorly managed building with no possibility of moving on. Charles White are clear that they could not care less.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are genuinely sorry for the frustration and uncertainty you have experienced, particularly given the impact this has had on your ability to sell your home.
We completely understand how difficult and upsetting this situation is for affected owners. Unfortunately, an EWS1 certificate cannot be issued until the external wall system has been fully assessed and any necessary remediation works have been completed.
To progress matters, we have commissioned a Fire Risk Appraisal of External Walls (FRAEW) report, which identified that remedial works to the cladding are required before an EWS1 certificate can be obtained. Following this, an application has been submitted to Homes England for grant funding to cover the cost of these works. Securing this funding is extremely important, as the estimated cost of the required remediation would otherwise fall to homeowners and is understood to be in the region of £100,000.
We appreciate that the process has taken far longer than anyone would have hoped. While many aspects of the funding and remediation process are outside of our direct control, we continue to work with the relevant parties to progress the application and move matters forward as quickly as possible.
We are sorry that you feel the service you received from our team did not meet expectations. We take feedback seriously and will review your comments internally. We remain committed to supporting owners through what is an exceptionally challenging situation and will continue to provide updates as further information becomes available.

Great Service by Paul - Charles White Limited
I recently moved into Portland 88, and I have had a very positive experience so far. The Charles White Limited team, and especially Paul Sanders, have been incredibly kind, helpful, and responsive throughout the process.
Paul has gone above and beyond to make sure we settled in comfortably and that all our concerns were addressed promptly. Any issues or queries we have raised have been handled quickly and efficiently, which has made the whole moving-in experience very smooth and stress-free.

I am putting on this review specifically to thank Lauren Young. I recently had a major water leak from the apartment above mine which caused a lot of damage. Although the matter is in the process of being resolved I would like to highlight that Lauren at every stage has been extremely helpful, courteous and has endeavoured to resolve our queries quickly and empathically. Over the years there have been occasional problems with my flat (most recently water damage to the ceiling), and I've generally had excellent support from the factors, Charles White - most notably, Sarah Wilson - to remedy issues.

Charles White Property Factors
Charles White have been factors looking after a historic cluster of properties in central Edinburgh, one of which I own.
We have had many issues relating to the age of the properties, all of which have been managed very efficiently by their client manager, Jill Clarkson.
She has consistently and promptly got things sorted, despite the challenges thrown at her of managing a disparate group of property owners.
Highly recommend.

They just keep getting worse
They show absolute disdain for their clients by refusing to acknowledge emails or actually managing the properties their responsible for.
Their "client relationship manager" refused to provide insurance premium information with a dismissive "There wasn’t one issued on this occasion."
Two years after a 100% increase in service charges they have now issued an additional £540 levy as they apparently can't manage their finances properly.
As to where this money goes is anyone's guess as the grass hasn't been cut in weeks and the bin enclosure hasn't been cleaned in years.
Please pick absolutely any other company available as Charles White Limited have been a constant source of financial and mental stress for the 6 years I've had to endure them.
