We engaged Charnwood Consultancy to do a stage 3 survey on a property we were thinking of buying. Having purchased the property we found a number of faults which were not brought to our attention.
After informing Charnwood, he came to visit and agreed that these items had been overlooked. He said he would engage a builder to put them right.
Time went by and we had to keep reminding him. He then said he was having difficulty in finding a builder. We got quotes for the work, which we submitted to him for approval; he agreed to pay. He even asked for our bank details, which we supplied. We chased many times but no response.
We reported him to the RICS, but apart from informing him of his responsibilities, they do not have the authority to take further action

Thank you for sharing your review. Firstly, we have not supplied you with a survey. The survey in question was instructed and signed by another person.
Secondly, a payment has been made to your account to cover the disputed window which was not reported on the survey. it is not a structural defect, however, we agreed to cover the payment as a good will gesture.
The other query of a tube metal support like the other properties are not a defect as there as been alterations carried out to the property. this is clearly stated in our limitations. we discussed this on site.
Just to be clear that the RICS has been contact to discuss that matter in details. I am happy to discuss this further with yourselves again. Especially because this was the second survey we have carried out on your behalf and we do work on our client satisfaction.
Please check your account for the payments that was made to you years ago, which is when this was discussed.
