I've been a paying subscriber of ChatGPT Plus for months, and what I find baffling is that despite using it for very basic tasks,far simpler than what it's built for I've consistently experienced technical failures. I’m not using it to code, build websites, or automate businesses. I’ve simply been asking for help with things like formatting documents, troubleshooting everyday tech issues and such.And even there, it repeatedly gave me wrong or contradictory guidance, to the point that it damaged my laptop system and cost me hours of work.
I escalated the matter in good faith, clearly explained what happened, and asked for support, or at least a gesture of goodwill. Not only did they ignore the technical failure and the impact it had, but after initially acknowledging the issue, OpenAI just went silent. No apology. No support. No gesture. Nothing. For a company that claims to be redefining communication, this felt like a complete shutdown, a wall of silence that forces users into frustration.
In the end, after multiple attempts to resolve things calmly, I had no choice but to request a full refund for all my monthly payments and not just because of the issue itself, but because of how it was handled. It’s deeply disappointing to see this level of detachment from a service that presents itself as groundbreaking.

A Clunky, Time-Wasting Shell of What It Should Be

This app has wasted countless hours of my time. It’s clunky, unrefined, and structurally weak—comparable to a stripped-down, early version of AutoCAD’s base code. Despite all the hype, the core functionality is shallow, and responsiveness is inconsistent. Features shift arbitrarily. It fails to serve professionals who rely on precision, recall, or efficiency. If this is the future of interface design, it's a massive step backward. Garbage engineering. One big hack-a-thon. A. Big. Rig.

I’m a paying ChatGPT Plus customer and I cannot believe OpenAI doesn’t send invoices via email. Stripe supports it. Every other SaaS company does it. But OpenAI? Nothing.

Worse: Their “support” is just a useless chatbot with no escalation path. You pay – but there’s no real service.

I have to manually log in, download each invoice, and forward it to accounting. In 2025.

Paying £20 a month for ChatGPT is probably the smartest bill I have.

De gratis versie is nog meer waard dan de + versie, enige wat je krijgt van de betaalde extra's is dat je geen limiet hebt, verder is het uren wachten op foutmeldingen of soms alleen maar leegte of een laadteken bij het creeëren van video's en foto's

I believe this company is a fraud. I was looking for ChatGPT to sign up, and I accidentally came across chatopen.app. I thought I was on the official ChatGPT site. Unfortunately, I unknowingly subscribed for a year. I found the service to be unhelpful and realized there is no option to cancel once you’ve made a purchase. Their policy does not allow for any refunds after the transaction. This company is fraudulent.

Mi-au fost oferite articole de lege incorecte, iar explicațiile juridice erau adesea greșite sau incomplete;

Unele răspunsuri păreau sigure, dar s-au dovedit a fi interpretări incorecte ale unor documente oficiale;

Justificarea e mereu că „nu este consilier financiar sau juridic”, dar în realitate se prezintă ca un asistent de încredere, când nu este.

Singurul lucru pentru care poate fi util e la reformulări sau generare de conținut simplu — dar pentru asta există alternative gratuite, care nu cer un abonament lunar.

➡️ Dacă te gândești să plătești pentru ChatGPT, eu îți recomand să testezi mai întâi AI-uri gratuite, pentru că această variantă plătită nu justifică diferența de preț prin acuratețe sau valoare reală oferită.

Pessima esperienza. L'assistenza praticamente non esiste: se hai un problema serio, come il blocco dell'account per la verifica dell'età, non ricevi alcun supporto umano reale. Ti lasciano senza risposte, mentre il tuo account resta disabilitato senza possibilità concreta di risolvere la situazione.

Peggio ancora, ti chiedono dati estremamente sensibili come la carta d'identità, ma non ti danno alcuna garanzia o assistenza nel processo. Il rischio per la privacy è altissimo, e non è accettabile che un'azienda di queste dimensioni gestisca tutto in modo così opaco e automatizzato.

Mi aspettavo serietà e trasparenza da OpenAI, invece mi sono trovato davanti a un muro. Se qualcosa va storto, sei completamente abbandonato. Deludente sotto ogni aspetto.

I am filing a complaint against OpenAI for systemic service misconduct, refusal to correct platform damages, and consistent avoidance of accountability.

Over the last six months, I have documented:

Unauthorized deletion of custom features.

Forced interference from their system despite configured settings.

Repeated acknowledgments of failures without corrective action.

Forced cancellation of service without my consent.

Refusal to offer compensation or restoration after damaging my account experience.

I submitted extensive proof to OpenAI Support, including direct admissions from their own system and detailed violation logs. Despite multiple escalations, OpenAI has refused to:

I thought i was in the real thing it looks totally different after payment. I cancelled straight away I can’t find a way to ask for refund or complain?!

BEWARE - I believe this is a scam company. It was late at night and I thought I was hitting the official ChatGPT site. I foolishly allowed myself to subscribe and then felt it was not useful. Went to bed, planning to cancel in the morn. Hit the cancel button - nothing seemed to work, no way to cancel, no way to contact the company. Tried to get the payment blocked by Amex and they came back to say I should have cancelled. Amex sent me the ChatOpen cancellation policy - NO CANCELLATION FOR ACCIDENTAL PURCHASE - NO CANCELLATion for CHANGE OF MIND, Etc. The parent company is ZILINGIAL based in Greece.

BEWARE - SCAM

OpenAI promotes ChatGPT as “artificial intelligence” – this is not a misunderstanding, it’s fraud. ChatGPT shows no real intelligence: it doesn’t understand content, it doesn’t learn, it doesn’t improve through interaction, and it keeps repeating the same mistakes. This has nothing to do with intelligence.

A system that lacks learning ability and comprehension should not be called “intelligent.” This is a sophisticated text prediction tool – nothing more. The term “AI” is deliberately used to make users believe they’re dealing with a much more advanced technology.

My demand: OpenAI must immediately stop labeling ChatGPT as “artificial intelligence.” Marketing products as “AI” when they clearly are not is fraudulent – and it should be regulated accordingly.

There’s a critical UX issue (I hope it’s a bug and not an intentional design decision):

When creating a new chat from within a project view, the context menu shows the option to delete the entire project and it appears before the chat-specific options. Even though the screen is focused on a single chat, you can accidentally delete the entire project, including all its chats, directly from inside a chat!

This happened to me:
I entered a project, started a new chat, made a mistake in the message, and, like I’ve done many times before, rushed to delete it. Without carefully reading the menu, I ended up deleting the whole project instead of just the chat.

That project contained hundreds of chats full of crucial context for my work (I run a SaaS startup). I lost countless hours of valuable material.

To make things worse, the company refuses to recover the deleted data, stating that deleted items are "permanently removed within 30 days", even though my project had just been deleted a few minutes earlier.
Their support team offered no solution beyond "the deleted chats cannot be retrieved" and ended the message with the classic "We're here to support you." Ironically, that support felt like a joke.

For the record:
I was a paying Plus subscriber. Naturally, I canceled my subscription immediately.
