I started my toddler son in The Children Learning Reading Program when he was just 3 years old, and the results have been nothing short of amazing! Within the first two weeks, he could understand 60% of the sight words, which was impressive for his age. Now that he's 4, he's reading at a 2nd-grade level and articulating his thoughts beautifully.

I estimate that he knows between 3,000 to 4,000 words already! We've been homeschooling and exploring different schools for him to join when the time comes, and I feel confident that he will be more than ready for any classroom environment.

I highly recommend The Learn Reading Program to any parent looking to give their child a head start in reading. It's been a transformative experience for us!

I taught my son phonics at 18 months then used this at 2 years he was able to read basic words at 2.5 years. We left reading aside and focussed on his math obsession. At 5 went through this program again for a few days and he just took off, now hes 5.5 reading chapter books! Highly recommended

The Best Program

I started using Children Learning Reading with my daughter Margot when she was just 2 years old, and it truly made a huge difference. The lessons were short, simple, and very effective — perfect for keeping her attention at such a young age.

Because of this program, Margot quickly built a strong foundation in phonics and reading. Now, at 6 years old, she is confidently reading chapter books on her own! She not only recognizes words but also understands what she reads, which amazes me every day.

I’m so thankful we discovered Children Learning Reading. It gave my daughter the best possible start, and I highly recommend it to parents who want to help their children develop a lifelong love of reading.

Teacher Jim's program is so awesome. It has been a year since we did the program. My son was 3.5 yo when he started and now at 4 years old, he was able to read so many books already that were advanced for his age. Writing also came naturally when he learned to read without me really teaching him how to write.

The program is very easy to use as it comes with so many materials that helps the parent teach their child to learn to read easily. We finished the whole program in two months.

Now, I started again with my daughter who just turned 3 yo. I tried to introduce it at 2 yo but I did not have enough patience to teach her at that time. She can now blend letters.

I really am thankful for Teacher Jim for his simple yet very effective program.

I grew up and was educated in Southeast Asia, where reading was taught differently, and I was an average student. Although I understood the value of reading, phonics was a completely new concept to me, and I didn’t know how to teach it to my child. I decided to purchase this program during a holiday sale. We started when my son was 3.5 years old, and he completed the course in about 6 to 8 weeks. By the time he began Montessori school, he was already reading fluently—well ahead of even his Montessori peers, who typically outperform those in public schools.

Now at age 7, he’s in first grade, but to keep him engaged, his teacher gives him book report assignments at a fourth-grade level, which he completes with ease. He’s a naturally curious child who love to learn and reding fluently has helped him in this journey. I’m incredibly grateful for this program—it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I always recommend it to friends and family with young children. It is easy to understand and practice. Doesnt ask for lot of your time and you can make it fun however you like. Initially you may notice progress isbslow but as soon as your child figures out blending, everything gets easy after then.

I bought this a few years ago and it works great!! I homeschool my kids and compared to other reading programs this was an amazing deal. It really is a very basic and established program, easy for the parent to understand and implement and quick for the child to do. My twins were very behind in everything but they were able to learn and understand the concept of reading with this program. But not only were they able to understand how to read but I was blown away by how fast it works, your essentially teaching your kids exactly what you see his kids doing in the video. My mainstream kindergarten child is sailing through and understanding everything!!! I did not try to teach any of my children when they were younger (before school age) but I could totally see a the year old learning to read with this program. The nice thing too is that you can teach them anywhere, it doesn't have to feel like a lesson. Also I have emailed the creator in the past with questions and he answered back very quickly!!! 10/10 would recommend this, for advanced younger kids and struggling readers both!!! Hands down the best thing I've bought in our homeschool journey to date!!!!

I started the program when my daughter was 2.5yo and advanced at our own pace. We took just under two years to complete the program because I took it nice and slow as it was the pace my daughter enjoyed the most, but even at a slow pace she can now read full sentences (she just turned 4yo) when none of her friends some age can do more than singing the alphabet song and recognise some letter sounds. Learning phonics at such young age has helped her pronounce words really well too. We are very grateful for this program!

This program is fantastic. It explains the science behind reading and gives the parent/teacher a better understanding of why their child may be struggling. My daughter had an excruciatingly difficult time learning to read until we got this program. The gentle lessons made sense to her, and she is now an avid reader who reads voluntarily in her free time for 1+ hours every single day.

I can’t recommend this program enough. My son and I started this when he was 4 and he took off with it. He continued with the second portion of this program when we finished the first and went on to read Charlotte’s Web at age 4.5 on his own. He’s 7.5 now and reading at at least a 12 year old level and his spelling is very impressive (we never have to study for any of his spelling quizzes at the moment). Additionally, the founder is very kind, supportive, and responsive.

I have been using this reading program for a few years now with all my children. I can confidently say first hand that this is by far the best reading program we have used. My first child was 5 years old when we found the program, my second was also 5 when she started. They are now 10 and 8 and have gone on to enjoy reading, including books written by J.R.R. Tolkein.

When my third child was 5 years old, we came across a different reading program that was more colourful and had music to go along. After trying it for 2 weeks, I immediately noticed what a terrible mistake that was! My child was confused, and had even started to mix up the letter sounds because of the music being used - this never happened with my first two! So we went straight back to the Children Learning Reading program and we thankfully saw improvements! The fact that Jim’s program is very simple, has no extra distractions, really allowed my child to focus on what’s most important - reading the letters and blending the sounds. There are many games to play along to make it extra fun. My child is now 6 years old and is already on Level 2 of the program. I love how this program truly builds strong little readers, who truly feel confident in what they are reading. The short stories are great and the instructor guide pair so well together. It really only takes a few minutes, like 15min to implement the lesson and review it for a few days or so before moving on to the next lesson.

I first used Children Learning Reading when I had my Child Day Care. The program was shared with the parent. They were amazed how their children were learning to recognize, read, and write!
I now have Great-grandchildren and will use this program with them!

I have purchased this program to teach my then one year old daughter how to read. She’s now 4 years old and just started kindergarten last week and she is reading at grade two level. Her teachers and principal are amazed. This is a great buy, I’m about to start with my one year old daughter now.

The good thing about this program is that you don’t loose access to the materials so you’ll have if forever and move from one child to the next. Also, Jim responds to his emails very quickly if need help with the account or have any questions.

This is the best reading program I have found. I was able to teach my 5 year old how to read in only a few months using this curriculum. I like how it is easy and not overwhelming, and how I was able to teach her how to read with one short lesson per day.

I used this with my resource students last year. I had some who were really low make it to grade level, and a couple don't even need resource any more.

We started with this particular reading program when my son was about 2 1/2 in 2022. He has only recently turned 5 and can read full paragraphs with comprehension and sometimes even with emotions. Thank you, sir Jim!

I used this program withy two older boys and will use it for my youngest now.
Pros:
1) fast and easy practice every day.
2) I agree with the philosophy of not having pictures that will distract them.
3) I agree with the philosophy of phonics-based teaching.
4) great consumer service. I had lost and mixed up my digital copy and hard copy that I had used with my older boys. When I emailed them my receipt, they sent me the download link again for free.

Cons:
Didn't have this problem with my older boys but my little one had a lot of trouble learning to blend. She learned her letter sounds very early but is only just picking up on how to blend the sounds to make the words. I tried this program once before when she had just learned letter sounds but it was too difficult for her/progressed too quickly. Instead I just used cvc (consonant -vowel- consonant) flashcards with her to learn how to blend sounds and am now coming back to this program. Overall a reminder that each child is different and not all programs will work at the same time/way.

I bought this program a few years ago and my daughter just wasn’t ready to learn in a structured way. Now she is a bit older we are trying this great program again

Great Great Great programe that you could give it to your child.. The happiness and confidence you will see on your child face after doing the basic and Advance programe is phenomenal. You will be giving Great start to their educational journey. I did this programe for my 4 years old then.. he is 5 years old now and excellent reader and he makes spelling and write stories on his own.. he is so much ahead in writing and reading in his class ans his age kids all because of this excellent programe. Also while going through this programe I used to send messages to Jim to clarify the doubts and he promptly replied to all my messages. I am lifelong thankful to Jim for introducing me and my kid to this wonderful reading programe. The best purchase of my life.

This program absolutely works!! My son is three and is already learning how to sound out words after just a few lessons! We go at our own pace, with no pressure, and he is doing great with it. I love the initial instruction book that explains how to teach the method and the science behind it. It's so helpful to understand WHY we teach it this way and then you see amazing results! My son doesn't even know the full alphabet yet but is already sounding out words with the letters he has learned! In just a few minutes a day he is READING at age 3!! I recommend this program to everyone I know!
