Our whole family went to Iceland for a trip with Classic Journeys. It met and exceeded EVERYONE's expectations. Our guide Eric was superb and accommodated everyone's needs in stride. The activities were perfect and kept all moving and excited about the next day. The hotels and food were good, though my son may have trouble getting reindeer locally.

Well managed and interesting

I had a great adventure with Classic Journey in Galapagos. Our guide, Alfredo, was phenomenal. We were a group with very different levels of physical capabilities and levels of comfort with adventure. Alfredo took everyone’s needs and wants into account and made sure everyone had fun, saw what was most important and remained safe doing it. Our group had 9 family members and 2 people who became like family over the week. Alfredo did a great job of integrating the group and also giving us some free time to explore on our own.
I am a vegetarian, so I was not sure what to expect food wise, but there was always an option or 2 that was available and very tasty. Our last dinner at The Point on Santa Cruz was delicious. I also loved the local houses/restaurants we went to. I chose a land based tour so we could feel immersed in the culture and experience local food and customs. Alfredo and his group of friends on the islands were so welcoming.
The wildlife was spectacular. Whether snorkeling or hiking, Alfredo was great about pointing out the flora and fauna of the islands. I also really liked his knowledge of Darwin and the history of the Galapagos. On every island there was at least one local guide helping and they were all accessible, friendly and knowledgeable. Godo on San Cristobal went above and beyond to make me and my 2 sisters feel comfortable and safe on our snorkeling outings.
The hotels were all nice with air conditioning. Even though it was the cool season, I still very much appreciated a cool room to sleep in. My favorite hotel was Indigo on San Cristobal. Loved the location and the proximity to to sea lions, shops and restaurants. Great place for an early walk before the daily adventure started. The pool area was also amazing.
Iguana Crossing on Isabela was also top notch. Beautiful view. Great iguana watching. Beautiful beach to walk on. Fun bars and restaurants close by. We also saw amazing shore birds when we walked on the beach. Very nice pool area. Enjoyed the breakfast here both mornings. Eggs made to order and nice buffet.
I appreciated the the location and the history of the Angermeyer hotel on Santa Cruz. Beautiful place to hang out and have a coffee or a drink. At night there are baby sharks to watch in the water and you can see the lights from the town. I love history so I enjoyed Alfredo telling us about the Angermeyer family. This hotel is showing its age a bit. It was very clean and had AC and the people who worked there could not have been nicer. The manager was so helpful when one of my sisters had to get to town on our last day to get to a pharmacy.
Our last day was full travel day, but even as we made our way back to Quito, Alfredo continued to tell us about the different ecosystems we were traveling through. I will definitely continue to follow the efforts of Galapagos to save their wildlife and their plants, especially the native plants and tress.
I have to also compliment Alfredo’s choice of snacks!! He always had a stash of goodies while hiking or boating. Tangos and Monkey Hippies were spectacular!!!
I cannot recommend this adventure enough. It was truly the adventure of a lifetime.

Donal is the ultimate host. He is well known and respected by so many people and that helped to ensure we really experienced the Irish culture, the best of restaurants, and story telling that was simply great. You have selected hotels that were outstanding.

Our guide, Andrew, was knowledgeable and helpful. The tour was well curated and our group gelled very well. I am a frequent independent traveler, but I enjoyed this trip so much, I am considering joining more tours such as this one.

The guides, Diane and Norma were lovely, informative, and fun. Itinerary excellent and varied.

We had a wonderful tour of Cuba and were fortunate enough to have two exceptional tour guides, Audrey and Marty who were so passionate about the country. Our son had to have an emergency appendectomy while we were in Havana, and our guides went above and beyond the call of duty helping us navigate this tumultuous event. I would not hesitate one second to recommend Audrey and Marty to show anyone Cuba! We learned so much about the culture and the Cuban people- it was an awesome experience.

The trip was absolutely fantastic with a variety of hikes for all abilities. The guides were very knowledgeable and so helpful. My husband had altitude problems with breathing and they were fabulous helping to take care of him and making the experience a pleasure for all.

Perfect from start to finish. Was able to help us through personal issues. That makes it and the friendly professional service amazing. Thank you. When you initiated helping with our personal struggles made a huge impact. Can’t say enough but you get the idea. It’s a great service

I had the most amazing trip. The guides were so knowledgeable and accommodating. They heard how disappointed some of the group was to possibly not see lavender fields so they went in search of them and found the most beautiful one for us to visit.
Everything from the places we visited to the people we met exceeded my expectations.

Classic Journeys Prague-Budapest was outstanding. The guide,Karel, was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He made the Eastern European history come alive with his personal experiences. He listened and willingly offered additional hiking distances on the days we wanted more hiking. Our boutique hotels were well-appointed and comfortable. Commonly they were family operated. The food was consistently excellent.

I came to see the lavender and was not disappointed! The sunflowers were a great addition Wonderful hotels, great service, our tour guides were very knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast’s were great!!

Fantastic guide, unique experiences and terrific meals. I only wish there was more clarity around the schedule. There was some confusion about what was included in meals and what was not.

This trip gave me a true overview of all the wonders of Norway. The tours of the major cities, Oslo and Bergen, gave me a sense of "urban" life in a country where I believe about 90% of the country is uninhabited! The railway rides, long but necessary to see different parts of the country, were comfortable and provided gorgeous views of the mountains. The Flam Railway provided spectacular scenery, but was certainly the most tourist-crowded part of the trip. Our guides, Ana and Arthur provided a fantastic combination of local knowledge (Ana) and vast historical knowledge (Arthur). The glacier guides were equally fabulous, both knowledgeable and with great concern for our comfort and safety. The hotel at Nes Gard was quaint and at a gorgeous location, and the dinners were superb. The one negative of the trip is that the hiking was much more arduous than it was described in the trip description on line. While the glacier hike was "invigorating," it was, in fact, quite strenuous hiking up hill over slippery, smooth rock faces, crossing streams and climbing over boulders. The "stroll along the footpaths" in the sheep pasture was a rather steep uphill jaunt, first along a country road, but then through marshy pastures, through brush and rocky sheep trails, with numerous steep crossings of streams. Fortunately our diverse group was able to make most of the walks, with shorter distances for some and more strenuous excursions for others. But those interested in this trip should be aware of how strenuous some of the hiking may be. I'd suggest that Classic Journeys rank the hiking (i.e., easy, moderate, challenging, etc.) so potential travelers can make a judgement as to whether it is right for them. However the trip was truly one of the most enjoyable of the six Classic Journeys we have done. We had a great time.

Our CJ guides were excellent and helped make the tour memorable and enjoyable. The choice of trails was excellent and gave us a wonderful glimpse of all the different areas of Glacier National Park. I would highly recommend it.

Your guide was well trained and very knowledgeable, couldn't have been more helpful and reliable. She made the trip a great experience.

A family trip to Puglia led by Ulisse. We learned a lot, ate very well slept in outstanding hotels and experienced things that many on their own would have missed.

Classic Journeys is always first-rate. Our guides were friendly, knowledgeable and on top of everything, the accommodations were great, and we always feel well taken care of.

The guides were great. Lots of variety of experiences. Easy and more difficult walks were offered each time possible. They were filled with patience for each day.
