Good Tool With Good Support

Their support teams and chat are generally very very helpful at rectifying your issues.

We are on a bespoke platform, so things aren't as plug in and play for us as they can be for other Clerk.io users.

There have been teething problems in the past and it was a lot of work getting Clerk to work as well as it probably can do for most people on our website.

We use recommendation sliders and the search function.

On the whole it is a great tool, it tracks pretty accurately, and the data it gives is very useful

There are some functions and things I wish it could do, which would help me more and I think would be fairer billings wise, but those things won't change.

Misleading sales promises, poor communication and billing without delivery

Our experience with Clerk has been extremely disappointing and frankly unacceptable.

The solution was very clearly sold to us as a simple “plug-and-play” setup that would be live within days. This urgency was also used during the sales process to push for a quick signature. In reality, weeks passed after the contract start date without the solution being live or delivering any value.

Despite this, we were charged from day one.

Throughout the onboarding period, communication was inconsistent and largely reactive. We repeatedly had to chase updates, correct issues ourselves and ask for basic clarity on timelines and progress. At one point, the person responsible for the implementation was out of office without any proper handover or proactive communication, which further delayed everything.

Most concerning was the clear gap between what was verbally promised during the sales process and what was later referred to as the “standard implementation timeline.” Expectations were simply not set honestly from the beginning.

When we finally chose to terminate the collaboration due to lack of delivery, our emails regarding termination and previously agreed conditions were effectively ignored. Instead of acknowledging the situation and working towards a fair solution, the focus remained on defending the billing and pushing us to go live — even after we had clearly communicated that we no longer wished to proceed.

Charging customers for a product that is not operational, failing to communicate transparently, and then disregarding termination requests is not how professional SaaS partnerships should work.

Based on this experience, we strongly advise others to be very cautious. We would not recommend Clerk.

Excellent Search Solution with Outstanding Support

Clerk is a very powerful and reliable search solution that significantly improves the user experience in our shop. The search results are highly relevant and the system performs extremely well even with complex product data and large assortments.

What we especially appreciate is the high level of flexibility and customization. Clerk can be tailored very precisely to individual business needs, allowing fine-grained control over search behavior, rankings, and merchandising strategies.

In addition, the support team deserves special mention. They are very responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. Questions are answered quickly and solutions are explained clearly, making collaboration efficient and pleasant.

De har kun online chat support og den er ikke god. Deres nyest version - fungere virkelig dårligt og de vil ikke lave suport på det så funtioner giver mening. Vi har arbejdet med dem i en længre periode men vil desværre ikke anbefale produktet.

I anbefaler at jeg skriver til jer - I er velkommen til at ringe til mig. Det at skrive frem og tilbage er jo en af de ting min anmeldelse tager udgangspunkt i.

Good software

I need to be honest, I was at first angry as the software did not function as I wanted to be. But in the end because of Wagner and Matilda it functions good.

Charged for months despite never going live – poor cancellation experience

Awful experience please avoid.

We signed up to use Clerk.io Search and Recommendations to trial the service on 12th December 2025 (Shopify). Unfortunately, there were early technical issues between Clerk.io’s system and our Shopify category structure, meaning we couldn’t complete setup before the Christmas and New Year period.

When we returned after the holidays, we decided the platform wasn’t going to be suitable for our needs and requested to cancel. We had never gone live with Clerk.io, and the service had not been fully implemented on our store.

However, Clerk.io charged £198 on 12th December, and then took another £198 on 12th January, despite the service never being live. When I questioned this, I was told that cancellation required 30 days’ notice, and that even after cancelling they would take another £198 on 12th February, with the contract ending 12th March.

Overall, this left us paying for multiple months of a service we did not end up using, and the customer service experience around billing and cancellation was very disappointing.

If you’re considering Clerk.io, I strongly recommend getting the cancellation terms and billing dates in writing, and making sure you’re fully confident it will work with your Shopify structure before signing up.

When you sign up for a Clerk.io subscription, billing starts from the contract start date. This is because that period is used to begin the implementation of Clerk.io on your website. The implementation itself has no additional cost, and an implementation specialist is assigned to support and work on your setup during this time, even if the solution does not ultimately go live.

Regarding cancellation, our subscriptions require one month’s notice, which is outlined in our terms of service: https://trust.clerk.io/terms. This notice period applies regardless of whether the service has gone live, as resources and support are allocated from the start of the contract.

That said, we understand how frustrating this can feel, especially when a solution does not progress as expected due to technical constraints. Your feedback is valuable and helps us improve how clearly we communicate billing and cancellation terms during onboarding.

De hæver mdl. gebyr

De hæver stadigvæk mdl. gebyr selvom aftalen for længst er opsagt.
Jeg fik det refunderet sidst, men nu har de hævet samme beløb igen.
Er salgsafdelingen ikke i kontakt med bogholderiet?

Deres system levede ikke op til mine forventninger, så vi opsagde samarbejdet helt uden problemer, bortset fra at de åbenbart har problemer i deres interne kommunikation.

Tak for din anmeldelse, og vi beklager den forvirring og frustration, det har medført.

Da du først rakte ud, havde vi fuld forståelse for, at Clerk ikke var det rette match for dig, og der var ingen sure miner. Vi forklarede også pr. mail præcis, hvordan abonnementet kunne opsiges, og du svarede endda, at det var "den bedste skilsmisse", du har oplevet, hvilket vi satte pris på.

Grunden til, at det månedlige gebyr blev trukket igen, er, at abonnementet ikke blev opsagt i systemet, og derfor fortsatte den automatiske fakturering. Så snart vi blev opmærksomme på det, refunderede vi det fulde beløb, og vi har nu manuelt lukket abonnementet for at sikre, at der ikke kommer flere opkrævninger.

Det vigtigste er dog, at alt nu er refunderet, og at abonnementet er helt lukket. Hvis du har yderligere spørgsmål, er du meget velkommen til at kontakte os, så hjælper vi gerne.

Umuligt at få kontakt – Clerk reagerer ikke

Vi har nu i ugevis forsøgt at få kontakt til Clerk – helt uden held. Det er fuldstændig umuligt at ringe til dem, og vores kontaktperson Matteo svarer ikke på henvendelser. Vi bad ham for længe siden om at finde en dansktalende medarbejder, men der sker intet.

Vi har haft et utal af forskellige kontaktpersoner hos Clerk, men de holder sjældent længe, og når de stopper, gør Clerk intet for at sikre, at samarbejdet fortsætter problemfrit. Vi skal selv tage initiativ hver gang for overhovedet at få en ny kontakt.

Nu står vi igen uden fast kontaktperson, efter at den seneste er stoppet – og vi har brugt over en måned på bare at få dem i tale. Den eneste besked, vi har fået, var fra Matteo, som svarede én gang, men siden er alt gået i stå.

Virker mest af alt som en pengemaskine.

Det burde virkelig ikke være så svært, Clerk.

Leider viele Probleme mit der Software – trotzdem keine Kündigung möglich

Wir haben Clerk.io über einen längeren Zeitraum genutzt. Anfangs klang die Lösung vielversprechend, in der Praxis kam es aber wiederholt zu technischen Problemen, z. B. wurden in der Produktsuche falsche Ergebnisse oder Preise angezeigt, was bei uns zu Beschwerden und Reklamationen von Kunden geführt hat.

Der Support reagierte jeweils, aber die Probleme kehrten nach kurzer Zeit zurück, sodass ständig neue Tickets nötig waren. Nach zahlreichen Versuchen, die Fehler zu beheben, haben wir schließlich eine eigene funktionierende Lösung gefunden und wollten den Vertrag beenden.

Leider gestaltet sich die Kündigung äußerst schwierig, da auf unsere mehrfachen Anfragen nur vertröstende Antworten kamen.
Wir wünschen uns von einem modernen Softwareanbieter mehr Fairness, Transparenz und Kundenorientierung – so sollte man im Jahr 2025 nicht mit Geschäftskunden umgehen.

Det har været en stor fornøjelse at samarbejde med Stefan fra Clerk. Han har fra start haft et tydeligt fokus på at sikre, at vi hurtigt opnår værdi gennem samarbejdet. Stefan har været lydhør over for vores ønsker og behov, og han har været både løsningsorienteret og fleksibel i tilgangen. Derudover har kommunikationen været klar, professionel og præcis hele vejen igennem, hvilket har gjort processen både effektiv og tryg.
