Online con. Wanted to compare annuities but they harvested my details and then said they would pass them on but only after submitting my details. Also the follow up email had no opt out against GDPR rules. Not great in a regulated environment!

First Encounter
This was a 1st encounter with the company after filling in a form online. Although I did not want a cold call the site would not let me go unless I supplied a telephone number. I explained in the 1st call that an email with sketchy info would do but they called again anyway.
However, the person who called then, was very courteous, knowledgeable and persuaded me into accepting another call from an expert. All I want is some information, so I am psyching myself up into not being arm-twisted into accepting anything I don't want or need when the heavyweight calls!

Not what the website said would happen.....
I found this service through Google and it looked really helpful. I filled in the form which asked for approx Pension value and Date of Birth as well as contact details. The website states that it would search pension annuity providers (for free) with no obligation. This is not what happened. I got an email saying they had signed me up with an Independent Pension Advisor who would contact me with details. This is not what I expected to happen and I would rather choose my expert independently rather than arbitrarily assigning me to one. I am just starting to consider my pension options and all i want at moment is reading material.
