We've just used the advisor matching service and the experience has been excellent. A highly motivated Connectd employee recommended two advisors to meet our needs after an initial call. So far the process is working really well and has boosted our commercialisation activities at an important time for us.

Excellent support for early-stage start-ups

would stay clear
They mention the run "cohorts" but when some of my friends and I realized they said the exact same thing, that was the first red flag.
Number 2 is when we all got call backs saying "people have dropped out, there is a spot, here is a cheaper premium etc". That done it for me. I think honesty and transparency is not their strong point. I would love to know what their "vetting committee" is because it seems like all my friends "passed"

We operate a structured cohort model, and while the messaging may be consistent, that’s because all applicants go through the same process. It’s not intended to be misleading, but to ensure fairness and clarity. Regarding the follow-up communications about spots and pricing, these are genuine updates based on availability. When spaces open up, we notify candidates accordingly. We understand how that may have been interpreted, but there’s no intention to create false urgency or pressure.
As for the vetting process, each application is reviewed individually by our team. While several of your friends may have been successful, this doesn’t reflect a lack of selectivity, we accept candidates based on merit and fit. We welcome constructive feedback, but we also stand firmly behind our practices and values of transparency, fairness, and professionalism.
Transition to Portfolio programme
I’ve been impressed with Connectd’s Transition to Portfolio programme, and in particular, the outstanding support from James throughout the process. From the initial consultation to the final match, James was thoughtful, efficient, and genuinely committed to finding a placement that aligned with my experience and interests.
Highly recommend Connectd to anyone looking to step into meaningful board advisory roles, and a huge thanks again to James for the personalised and professional experience.
