Initial Founder Meeting
James St. John-Dunlop at Connectd was fantastic to work with. He facilitated my first founder meeting with professionalism, clarity, and an incredibly supportive approach. During the call, he guided the conversation seamlessly, ensured both sides were aligned, and helped us confirm that we were a strong fit to work together.
With his support, the founder and I were able to establish a clear six-month working cadence and the entire process felt smooth, transparent, and well-structured.
James made what could have been a nerve-wracking first match feel straightforward and genuinely enjoyable. I walked away from the experience confident, informed, and excited to begin the engagement.

I approached Connectd as a startup founder and it has been one great experience after another. The team within Connectd really tried to understand our business, what we did, what we needed, discussed potential fractional talent, did the introductions and we are now obtaining absolutely incredible results. I'm absolutely thrilled and hope to be able to continue working with them for a long time.

Spam - waste of time
Not sure why any exec would pay for wht they are offering. I was contacted via linkedin. Agreed to a short meeting. They sent a lot of spam via email in the interim. Slightly bizarre sales approach. The person I was meeting was late for the call and began firing off questions. Had to stop to understand why they made the initial contact. Turns out it was just a sales pitch.

It feels like I'm at the right direction..
I was introduced by Saif to explore the possibilities of working with pro bono fractional leaders at Connected. Alex presented the different ways I can get support as a founder and then Emily explained more about the benefits of working with relevant advisors who specialise in my area of business. Scam
I feel very disappointed with my experience. After a year of subscription, I sent a clear email asking Connectd to cancel my subscription. Despite this, the direct debit continued.
I spoke with several members of the team who acknowledged the mistake, but I am still waiting for a refund of approximately £600. Based on my experience, I would advise others to be cautious.

Delivered Exactly What Sparkeey Needed
They took the time to understand the culture, product vision, and the kind of mindset needed at Sparkeey. Communication was clear, structured, and fast throughout and they delivered as promised.

No obvious benefits for the NEDs
Approached on LinkedIn. Had a quick 15 minute call with an unnamed person (apparently names go against guidelines do Connectd asked me to remove it, interesting that they have no issue with naming people when its a compliment) who couldn't answer any of my questions around the average earnings or number of placements for the potential NEDs. He said 'you get out what you put in'. Well, you've just told me I'd be putting in £2400 plus 6 months free advisory work. If you can't tell me what I'm able to get back out of that then it sounds like a scam to me. He tried to sell in the SaaS model as a benefit - but the reality is it means they have no skin in the game.

SCAM - Avoid this company Just training and membership fees
I was contacted twice via LinkedIn with the same scripted email message that others have received. I have had many other companies try the same SCAM on LinkedIn, claiming to match experts with company boards.
The simple truth is that no legitimate company would attempt to find board members via a paid membership program. I have many friends and business associate on boards and 100% of them were connected through their network.
I asked the person who contacted me about any up front fees after reading all the negative posts here and on other platforms, and the agent never even returned my message

Efficient introductory meeting
Nathaniel handled the first meeting with the founder and another NED well and effectively, introducing everyone and explaining the process, while then stepping back and allowing the interaction to happen.

Connectd…after the training academy
My initial discussions with the Connectd team were open and supportive, giving me a clear understanding of the process and the opportunities available. Expectations were well set, and the team was happy to answer follow-up questions and arrange calls to clarify anything further.
After joining, I gained access to the Fractional course content. The early sessions helped set the scene, while the later ones went deeper—moving beyond the day-to-day work and into the practical realities, risks, and requirements of running a business. It’s not just about what the role involves; it’s about understanding the bigger picture and what it really takes to succeed.
The next step for me is to start applying these insights to my plans going forward
