The site and plugin are selling my information without my consent. They appear to be scraping user information using the chrome extension. This company should be sued and shut down for violating laws about privacy.

How is this not a violation of GDPR? I have received spam sales calls related to my job on my personal number because contact out have posted my phone number which I have never made publicly available. They have posted a false personality report about me. I have requested that my data be removed and will report this to the information commission

Disgusting company - information scraped from a 10 year old linked in profile along with a pile of pure fabrification.
I don't know how they can legally get away with what they're doing.

I don't know anything about this company but I have recently dealt with Firat Brusk who works here. If you ever have the delight to speak with this individual, I would avoid him at all cost as he is untrustworthy. He approached my company to complete a job for him at such short notice and we pulled out all the stops to go out of our way to provide this service for him even thou we are very busy. He not only does not come back to my emails/phone calls about this job and he doesn't even let us know what is happening even after we had confirmed via email we would pencil this in. He then cancels the job on the day we arrived to complete the job. He refuses to pay our charge and tried to destroy my business with a 1 star google review of my business. We went the extra mile for someone to be then stabbed in the back. Do not trust this person.

ContactOut scrapes data from old sites and fabricates information about individuals. Regardless of how you feel about scraping data from public sources, the information I found about myself was not only incorrect but was borderline slander. I have requested that my page be taken down. If it is not I will be reporting this company to the proper authorities. I only hope that many more people report this company.

I just found my details on ContactOut, which I did not create...
From what I can gather it is a mishmash of old information gathered from different sites. Talk about an invasion of privacy I honestly feel violated. I don't know who they are or how they got my details, from what I can gather it seems to be a copy and paste scam.
Avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid total scam artists!

I filled out a form requesting that my details be removed, it said that everything will be taken down within 30 days. Not holding my breath, however we will see & I will let ye know!

Outdated info scraped from lord only knows where and distributed without consent. Demand removal of data and report.

I never made public the information they have on me. If this was ever public it has been done without my consent and they conveniently scraped it. They have most of my LinkedIn info, which is only visible to connections. What's worse is that probably these 5star reviews here are people who work for them (notice how everyone is mentioning "easy to use" and "convenient"). That or other spammy companies who've used that data unlawfully.

Report them!!

they are just spam enablers. If my linkedin profile doesn't show my personal email maybe that's because i don't want to disclose it to anyone?

how would the CEO feel if his address was leaked and everyone 10s of people would ring a bell trying to sell something?

moral values should be upon money, but doesn't seem like it for ContactOut

They scrape your data from the internet in a way that is as stalkerish as possible without being illegal and sell the data to spammers. Also they refuse to tell you where your data was scraped from.

I started using contact out 2 months ago. I honestly did not know that you could fish clients so easily. Contact out gets you peoples' personal emails, which I think is one of the best ways to get people to reply to your mails. It is one of the best ways to get directly in contact with your prospectus

Contact out allows me to successfully do my job in a way that I wouldn’t be able to do without it. It’s accurate, reliable and always gets the job done. Very seamless to use and provides great and accurate info!

Love the ContactOut system, no need to train personnel how to use it or faulty/inaccurate data, what you see is what you get. I personally use this for recruiting on an hourly basis and it's worked much better than the vast majority of the services I used prior to discovering ContactOut.

As many people here, Contactout published old data about me without my consent. If they don't remove it soon then I will go to the police.

They publish and sell outdated, therefore inaccurate data from my LinkedIn profile – without consent.

Of course, I made use of the Opt-out Form.
“My profile will be deleted within 30 (!) days“.

Disgraceful.

Update: My profile hasn't been deleted. I reported a GDPR violation.
