ill join the pergola reviews.. :(

ill join the pergola reviews - ordered in October 25 for a estimated December 25 delivery (at time of order). Also ordered a BBQ at same time and instead of having it for summer its delivered in March 26. Only use Container Door if you have absolutely no care on how long it takes (months). Summers over and now i have to store my gear for another year to use it... Sometimes better to pay the extra and take it home same day :)

Absolutely unacceptable service.

We ordered a side drop‑down blind for our pergola back in February 2025. We were initially told delivery would be October, then delayed to January, and now pushed out again to March — that’s 13 months to receive a single blind!

This is incredibly disappointing. We ordered well in advance specifically to have it ready for the summer months, and now the season has come and gone. For one blind to take this long is simply not good enough!!!!!

Stay away from them

As many others I paid around 4k for a pergola almost a year agoand every few months the delivery keeps getting put off. Has the feel of a company that is about to go under and diectors (who all have flashy Remuera & Orakei adresses) walk away and customers lose thousands. Awaiting my refund now.

Do not buy from this crowd

Do not buy from this crowd.
Ordered and paid for a pergola (nearly $5k) in Feb for June delivery , delayed last minute to Sept delivery , now on 12th Sept after several emails asking for a delivery confirmation they have delayed until end of November.
Going to cancel order and get a refund so can product elsewhere as house is due to go on the market so we cannot wait . How long will it take them to refund ???

We ordered a pergola in November 2024 - several delays and still have not received July 2025 new expected arrival August (believe it when i see it). Customer service is not a thing. Do not order from this company.

I would strongly caution anyone…

I would strongly caution anyone considering ordering from Container Door. My experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. The item I ordered was originally promised to arrive over 6 months ago, and I’m still waiting.

There has been little to no proactive communication from their team. Every time I followed up, I was either given vague updates, empty reassurances, or simply ignored altogether. If there were genuine delays, a responsible company would have kept their customers in the loop – instead, I felt completely left in the dark.

The lack of accountability and professionalism has been incredibly frustrating. When you’re spending your hard-earned money, the bare minimum you expect is honesty and basic customer service – unfortunately, Container Door has failed on both fronts.

Would not recommend and definitely won’t be ordering from them again.

I've bought Pergola from Container Door…

I've bought product from Container Door 6-7 times in the last few years. Never had a real problem. One time there was a delay with shipping, but I received an email, well before original delivery date to advise of delay. Product arrived as per email. The nature of combined shipping means time schedules are a bit fluid - buy an in-stock item from a local retailer if you really need a guaranteed delivery date.
My latest orders were a 4m x 3m pergola, side louvres, a roller blind & lighting system. I am still surprised by the high quality of the product compared to similarly priced local retailers. Really enjoyed assembling the pergola and components, looks great!

I purchased a pergola followed by a sun…

I purchased a pergola followed by a sun screen. The sun screen did not fit and was useless. The aluminium structure of the pergola has badly corroded and because it was more than a year old I was offered no help, not even a return call. I would never purchase from Container Door again or recommend them. The only thing they did promptly was to charge my card.

After many emails and phone calls about…

After many emails and phone calls about the pergola I ordered and paid for with a delivery date of the 10th of November 21 I have still not had my goods dispatched. I received 2 x group emails with the last one stating the pergola was with the delivery company and to expect a call
No such luck
The communication and service has been shocking
Not recommended

I've had better experiences

I've had better experiences that's for sure. Purchased a BBQ from them and when the expected dispatch time arrived we waited a few weeks before contacting them to find out where it was.

1 week later I got a reply as they were not answering the phone to be told that they are not allowing pickups during the red level of COVID. Urm,.. why, I'm not sure as we were doing pickups everywhere else in Level3, and why was I not notified so I can arrange delivery.

Customer service pretty much non existent - 2 star as the price is good, but I'm still waiting on my BBQ. :(

Have now purchased from Container Door…

Have now purchased from Container Door several times. Had one problem when I ordered a set of bedside tables and one of them had missing legs. The company couldn’t locate the correct legs so gave me a full refund on both tables and I wasn’t required to return them (they can be used anyway without the legs). Good outcome. The other items I’ve purchased have all been great. No complaints regarding the quality. Delivery can be slow, especially at the moment with COVID issues, but if you’re happy to wait then it’s all good. It does arrive eventually.

Poor customer service

I ordered an air hockey table. Estimated dispatch 2 December 2021. The deal went through. My credit card payment was accepted and Invoice confirming that received. I have received one generic email advising me that there are delays - no estimate on delivery. I phoned before Christmas to get an update as this was a Christmas present for my kids - with no empathy they told me to download a 'picture' from the website. What kid wants to receive a picture of the gift they were supposed to get for Christmas. No discount, no nothing offered. In the interim I have sent emails, left numerous voice messages (as the phones doesn't get answered). The date is no 21 January 2022, no tracking number provided. No goods received. My account page continues to say the order is "In Progress". No revised dispatch date received or noted on my account page. I have emailed twice seeking updates. No response to telephonic voice messages I have left (3). My order does not even appear to be in the queue as no tracking number assigned? Just a communication vacuum. Other goods ordered from Auckland are not similarly delayed. Only 3 days max from providing tracking to pick up! They say you can tell how good a company is when you hit difficult times or have an issue. Sorry to advise Container Doors customer service really really poor..

I ordered my e-bike in September 2021

I ordered my e-bike in September 2021. It is now mid-January, 2022 an I am still waiting. I would like to know if I am actually going to get my bike? I have the basket. Please, just be honest and let me know if the bike is even in the country.
Update 20th Jan 2022. It has arrived.

Kayak purchase waiting waiting waiting....

Purchased kayak in November for dispatch date 10th December. It is now 15 Jan and no update. Received one email in December about delays. But over a month and no communication is very poor. I have called ~4 times and get the same response "kayak is in a warehouse in Manurewa and waiting to be delivered to our warehouse". This just does not make sense to me.
It's a shame that I have to call for updates, rather than get a weekly update now that we are over 5 weeks from initial dispatch date.
I just want my Kayak summer will be over soon 😩

Deal gone through. Goods paid for but not sent.

I ordered 2 sets of Festoon Lights. Estimated dispatch 21 October. The deal went through. My credit card payment was accepted and Invoice confirming that received. Date now 31 October. No tracking number provided. No goods received. My account page continues to say the order is "In Progress". No revised dispatch date received or noted on my account page. I have emailed twice seeking updates. No response. OK an unspecific generic email to all affected customers received saying there are delays due to Covid and Relocation. Media says around 5 days Auckland Covid backlog for carriers. But my order does not even appear to be in the queue as no tracking number assigned? Just a communication vacuum. Other goods ordered from Auckland are not similarly delayed. Only 3 days max from providing tracking to pick up! They say you can tell how good a company is when you hit difficult times or have an issue. Sorry to advise Container Doors customer service is broken.

Due to lockdown and our warehouse move we have seen delays in the network as well as in dispatching orders, you should have received some communication from us in this regard.
I have just had a look into your order and I can confirm that these will be going out today to come to you, we are very sorry this dispatch was delayed.
As soon as the order has been collected and scanned by the courier, you should receive an email with tracking.

Previous reviews should be revoked as I had thought the service was good at the time. As time went by product proved to be inferior and customer service lacking. Product will fail in it's "meant for purpose" warrant with no come back alternative other than consumers protection act being activated.
