Disappointing packaging and damaged knife

When the knife arrived, the tip was unfortunately bent. The packaging was nowhere near adequate for a knife costing over £100 — it was simply placed in its display box with paper wrapped around it, with no apparent protection to prevent it from being damaged in transit.

I contacted the company, and they were very happy to arrange a return, so I have no complaints about their response to the issue itself. However, after this experience, I decided to purchase the knife from another company instead.

For a product at this price point, I would expect much more care to be taken with the packaging and delivery.

I think this is a rather unfair review. The item you purchased comes in retail packaging, not a display box. It's wedged into the cardboard box in a custom inlay, is surround on all six sides. it also has a cardboard sleeve blade protector and has other pamphlets in the box which pad it out. It then has a cardboard outer sleeve over the box. We then package the item ourselves very well indeed, we have dozens of reviews saying how good this always is. I really don't get you claim that it was damaged in transit, it's so highly unlikely. If you purchase the same product anywhere else you will get exactly the same, but most likely with lesser outer packaging.
We treat all items the same, whether you spend £10 or £1000. Based on all this, I think you review is not a true reflection of our company or our methods, but we will take the reputation hit regardless.
Thanks for that, this countries small businesses deserve all the help they can get!
