This was our first ever cruise and it…

This was our first ever cruise and it was wonderful. The ship was clean and very well appointed. Our stateroom was huge, much bigger and better equipped than we were expecting.
The food and drink were excellent and the staff were absolutely first rate especially in the bars and restaurants.
We only did two trips off of the boat and both were well organised if a little hurried and ‘school trippy’ but the guides knew their stuff and kept us well informed both about the places we were visiting and the time we needed to get back to the ship etc.
All in all a very enjoyable week and a brilliant introduction to cruising.

The Outstanding Crystal Symphony

Absolutely brilliant the perfect cruise for us. We regard ourselves as a fit hill climbing, road biking 69 + 70 year old couple

We were part of a larger booking made through Imagine Cruising approx 16 - 20 people from all over UK.

We were in a Sapphire Ocean view suite that exceeded our wildest expectations. And was situated on deck 7 a couple of suites in front of the last small lifeboat so gave an excellent view.

We have never experienced food on other cruise lines ( Premium grade) that even came close. The Specialist Dining in Umi Uma ( Japanese Peruvian ) and the newly updated Osteria d’Ovidio (Italian) were simply amazing. The Beefbar and Waterside main dining room would both qualify as Specialist Dining restaurants on any other cruise line afloat.

A small criticism regarding the Market place (Buffet) was that it closed to early at 13::30 at lunchtimes which really should be extended to 14:30.

The updated entertainment programme was sophisticated and was spot on it suited the majority of cruisers that aged between 45 - 80.

At no time did we feel that it was stuffy or that other cruisers were assessing each other, every person we met was lovely and enjoyed interaction with each other .

The biggest plus of Crystal Symphony is the crew from waiters, to bar person, to suite attendants and Butlers they were truly second to none, Crystal really has got it right creating a family and friends type atmosphere that immediately makes you feel relaxed and welcome.

To name a few crew that we thought stood out were

.Elio Espinoza ( Osteria d’Ovidio, .Joshi , Lobo and waiters in Waterside.

Special mention for
.Mendra Ruggoo who really went out of his way for us making us feel truly relaxed with his respectful humour

(hope he made it home to Mauritius for his time off as Iran War may be effecting his flights).

.John Ryan Desiderio ( Umi Uma),

Our suit attendants

.Maricar and

.Andrea who did an incredible job. Our Butler

.Magdalena who was lovely and extremely helpful..

Of course there were many others who were also wonderful who we no doubt missed out.

On board tours were reasonably priced and as good a price as those offered by Viator etc.

A cruise with Crystal Symphony we would regard as expensive but as others have said You really do get what you pay for.

The package we obtained with Imagine cruising was brilliant Flights, 5 days in Bali 1 in Singapore in amazing hotels along with this amazing cruise on Crystal Symphony.

All in all it was a great Cruise and stay deal at a great price.

Would we sail on Crystal Symphony again….in a minute !!!!?

A tip for others as soon as you book then go onto Crystal Symphony website and book your Specialist Dining times.

Six One Exceptional Nights Sailing With Crystal Cruises

My wife and I sailed for 61 nights on board Crystal Serenity from mid-August of 2025 to mid October 2025. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed each and every minute. We are long terms cruisers of Crystal and for us new Crystal is better than ever. It combines what we enjoyed about old Crystal and adds in new enhancements including two new restaurants. The service continues to be exceptional as are the many amenities on board. We have sailed both Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity and both are wonderful.

DUPLICATE CHARGE NOT REFUNDED FOR $1,8151 for Deposit

I am currently experiencing a prolonged billing issue with Crystal Cruises involving a duplicate charge of $1,851.25.

The original charge was refunded; however, the same amount was subsequently recharged to a different credit card and has not been refunded. Although Crystal Cruises informed my bank that a refund had been processed, my bank confirmed that the refund applied only to the original card and not to the second charge.

It has now been over one month of repeated assurances that the matter is being reviewed or processed, yet no refund has been issued and my bank dispute remains open.

Additionally, I requested cancellation shortly after booking due to medical limitations. I was initially told the booking would be cancelled, but no cancellation was processed at that time. A separate representative later cancelled the booking and provided written confirmation.

As of today, the duplicate charge remains outstanding and unresolved.

Customers should carefully monitor billing statements and obtain written confirmation of any refund processing.

How to deal when a customer close relative passes

I’ve travelled several times with them and cannot fault them. However my sister recently passed away and I had to cancel my cruise. It was outwith the cancellation period so they lost nothing. Luckily I had insurance. I have £500 destination refund. Whilst I gave them full detail on 11th November I’ve yet to receive this. Seems they have only certain days to process. The Insurance Company and British Airways have refunded me. Seems Crystal lack sympathy/empathy.

The Head waitress at beef doesn't…

The Head waitress at beef doesn't listen
She seems to be the epitomy of an individual who prefers the sound of her own voice to that of a customers.
Received a reply from Sarah offering a chat with the front desk, which is nice, but don't feel the need to reiterate my disappointment at the attitude and behaviour of the female. A pity, as every member of the ships crew conducts themselves in a most professional manner.

Itinerary changes warning

We booked a Japan cruise with Crystal through Iglu and were looking forward to it. Unfortunately they changed two of the destinations and and the disembarkation port and conveyed this as a minor change. To us it was not and having cruised around Japan last year meant the cruise had now 5 ports we already visited. Also the two ports they removed were ones we specifically booked the cruise to visit. We contacted Crystal who informed us that we had to go through Iglu. This was the first problem as they then became the go between. (We will book direct in future). Ultimately we lost our deposit and had to pay Iglu extra for doing so. It has put us off booking a future Crystal cruise especially given that we had no recourse for what we considered major changes to the itinerary. I know they decide what constitutes a major change is different from ours and we have to accept this but it does mean we are unlikely to book with them again

Our dedicated teams continuously monitor global conditions and local regulations for both Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony. If we are advised of any logistical concerns, we will reroute as necessary and inform all guests as soon as possible.

First time with Crystal Cruises

We had a nine-night cruise around the Greek Islands in March this year. From start to finish we had a great time. This is a smaller ship catering for around 1200 cruisers.Our cabin was an outside one with a window. We usually have an inside cabin as we spend the minimum time in the cabin but the inside cabins were sold out. Our room was cleaned daily with a turndown service at night. We mainly ate in the buffet restaurant as there was a wide variety of food available all well cooked and tasty. We aren't big fish eaters so we struggled a bit on the seafood evening. It was all well-presented and did look appetizing. On speaking to the chef and explaining we didn't eat fish he immediately offered to have something from the restaurant brought up which was a lovely touch. The chef and his staff are a credit to the company, everyone was very friendly and professional. How they all stay positive and smiling for guests during their long shifts is a testament to their commitment to customer service. There are several bars all around the ship, our favourite was the piano bar. There was always a great atmosphere the magic shows put on by the bar staff were very entertaining. You were always made to feel welcome in this bar by the wonderful team. During the day when returning to the ship we sat around the indoor pool area where the roof could be retracted as needed. There were enough beds around the pool with for sun-worshippers and additional shaded area seating. Again the staff who served the drinks were all friendly and helpful. There was no long wait to be served your drink was brought to you immediately. There is an outdoor pool with sunbeds and cabanas all around it for adults only. Overall the ship was very clean. On other cruise lines in between meals, they provided a snack service/afternoon tea and similar at night. This wasn't available here. The food available had to be paid for. As this was an all-inclusive cruise we weren't expecting this. The management could look at this being provided. We did go to two shows in the main theatre but weren't impressed at all. On other cruise lines, they usually have a show by staff from all services to showcase their talents which are usually very good. Again the management could look at this for the future. Would we recommend this cruise line? Yes, there was nothing that would put us off cruising with Crystal again.

General ship needs completely renovating food service entertainment excellent customer service not great

Thank you for your honest review of your time aboard Crystal. It is lovely to hear you enjoyed our exceptional service, cuisine, and entertainment. Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity are ships unlike any other. They were built with high quality materials and with a level of redundancy that sets them apart from ships of other cruise lines. When the class was evaluated after refurbishment by industry specialists, they declared that their new conventional age is not 20 and 28 years, but 10 and 14 years respectively. This outcome speaks volumes about these two ladies.
We do hope you join us again in the new year to experience our advancements. These include the addition of Le Casino de Monte-Carlo, Beefbar, and our enhanced Osteria d’Ovidio menu helmed by a Michelin-Starred chef. We will continue to improve our fleet into the many future years to come.
