I have worked for DBE for the last 10 months. I love it! We have so much fun with the service users we aid each person differently and individually to reach their targets and have a lot of fun doing so.
I have been on so many trips with the service users, including a few days in Basingstoke to do a spot of Christmas shopping, a few days enjoying the beach at and around Eastbourne, trips to York, Skegness and today we took a group of service users to Bircham Mill.
DBE support people as individuals.
People often hear me saying “ I love my job, it doesn’t feel like a job at all”
How many people can say that?
The service users are lovely and fun loving and the staff are wonderful!

Josh James the trainer was very informative. Provided us with many useful details and information regarding indiviuals who have a hearing and visual imperment.

Josh was really lovely and polite, made me feel relaxed was nice to see a trainer expressive and happy. The training was really informative and I look forward to level 2

The content was really fascinating and really well delivered by Josh - A four hour course would normally be hard to get through but the trainer kept up the pace and momentum and engagement was good. A great course, would recommend to anyone supporting or who has friends or relatives with hearing or visual impairment.

Excellent Deafblind Awareness Training

I really enjoyed this training. Everything was explained clearly and in a way that was easy to understand. I learned a lot about deafblindness, communication methods, Braille, mobility, guide dogs and how to support each person according to their individual needs. The trainer was knowledgeable, patient and very supportive. I now feel more confident in supporting people who are deaf, blind or deafblind. I highly recommend Deafblind Enablement.

I attended a Deafblind Awareness session today, the session was interesting and helped me understand in moer depth what i can do better to support someone who is deafblind. Josh was the facilitator he made it really easy to follow, it was interactive and kept me engaged for the 4 hours we was together. Thanks Josh it really was an awesome session

I’ve just finished my Level 3 VFHO with Debbie at Deafblind Enablement. I’ve learned so much about the needs of Deafblind people and how communication needs to be adapted and I’ve been able to put the theory into practice by meeting a number of DB people. Debbie is an excellent teacher. I would highly recommend this course for anyone wanting to expand their skillset

I have just completed my Visual Frame/Hands On 301 at DBE. Debbie was so encouraging and supportive. I was given opportunities to gain experience and it is clear how passionate all the staff are about what they do. Very enjoyable and I learnt a lot in a relaxed atmosphere.

Thoroughly enjoyed Level 2 communication and guiding course. Debbie and Josh are so knowledgable. I’ve learned lots, all very interesting and good fun. Highly recommend to all. Thank you both for a fantastic experience.

Just completed the level 2 communicator guide course with Josh and Debbie. Throughly enjoyed the course. Content was very detailed and explained well with lots of participation encouraged throughout. Really valuable course to have completed and very grateful for the trainers shared knowledge and skills.

I recently did the level 2 communicator guide training. I feel like I've learned so much and feel confident with the new skills I have gained. I would highly recommend doing training through DBE

Great training in guiding by Josh with the wonderful Janet kindly trusting and allowing us to guide her. Charlie was also great, helpful to see comm-guiding in action. Informative and fun training, want to do more. Highly recommend.

I met, shadowed supported and worked with DeafBlind clients as part of my fun, but serious, Interpreter guide training. Learning effective communication adaptations and methods whilst polishing up linguistic knowledge and guiding skills. The team at DBE are caring, friendly and knowledgeable and are fantastic at training us.

I have just done my deafblind Level 2 communicator guide training and my level 3 specialist assessor with Deaf Blind Enablememt. I think it's very helpful I am a level 6 BSL student and I have learnt a lot being on this course. The teachers Josh and Debbie have been amazing and are patient. It's not just about theory and writing it's also practical here at DBE..

The course was professional but taught in a friendly and timely manner. Nothing was too much trouble. Having to wear simulation glasses and ear defenders made me vulnerable but made me see life from a different perspective

My awareness of sensory impairment has been greatly enhanced. The training was interactive and informative. I'll definitely integrate this knowledge into practice. Henceforth, my communication with individuals experiencing sensory impairment will improve.

Highly trained and skilled, dedicated and compassionate support for deaf-blind needs. DBE have supported my mother for many years, and encourage and help her to live an independent life, as well as being there when she needs them for appointments and medical emergencies. Through the events that DBE organise I have met many of the staff and people that they support, and I always have huge admiration for what they enable people to achieve. The smiling faces and positive outlook of the people they support tells the whole story. The staff are so dedicated that they become friends too, I have only positive experiences of DBE.

DBE are a fantastic company who have done so much to improve the life and independence of my friend who uses their service. Enablement is the PERFECT world to describe what they do.
