I am always hesitant to purchase shoes and boots online, especially ones that are at the high end of affordability for me, but I took a chance on a pair of Dear Frances boots and was thrilled to see how well-made they are and how perfectly they fit. I then purchased a pair of leather slides and was just as pleased.

Great craftsmanship and elegant design. Customer service is also stellar.

Dear Frances refused to accept a return for a £400 pair of shoes that were far too small, claiming minor surface marks on the sole made them "unacceptable for resale"—even though they were only tried on indoors for fit. Extremely disappointed in the lack of flexibility and poor customer treatment for what’s meant to be luxury footwear. Proceed with caution when ordering online.

I rarely buy shoes other than Loro Piana, confort is non negotiable for me. Dear Frances is exactly what they say they are: timeless pieces to invest in. I absolutely love my first pair, it is extremely comfortable, high end leather and craftsmanship.

I can’t recommend Dear Frances enough. The quality alone is outstanding, but the comfort and durability of their heels goes above and beyond. Not only that, but the care they have for customer experience makes them really stand out, especially Nancy in Client Services. I will absolutely be ordering from Dear Frances in the future, it’s very rare to find such outstanding quality, customer service, and general comfort in a pair of shoes.

It’s especially impressive to see how such a sophisticated brand continues to find ways to make the experience even better, when it already feels perfect.

Wrote to them about leather paint coming off my cream gio loafer (literally after one wear, the leather creasing being worn caused the base to show) and they said it was just dirt or dust (funny as wiping them clean also removed more leather paint!) This was despite clear images showing the issue. Irritating, but the tone of the reply is the reason i am leaving this review, it was really off.

Easy to order on website and shoes arrived quickly. So impressed with the quality of the balla loafers. They are elegant shoes that will work for many different occasions. They are very cleverly structured so they work really well on my long slim feet at the beginning of the day but also work at the end of the day when my feet are swollen. This is due to the beautifully soft leather combined with the clever structure of the shoe. I am normally a size 41 but found size 42 worked better in the balla black leather loafers.
I have been looking for a comfortable elegant pair of shoes for a number of years without success and am delighted to find these shoes. I expect to be wearing them for many years to come. And am so pleased that I will be trying the balla boots for winter.

I’m extremely disappointed with both the quality of these shoes and the customer service. The mesh ripped before I even had the chance to wear them outside. They were only tried on indoors, yet they were already damaged. This is completely unacceptable for a premium-priced product.

Instead of taking responsibility for what appears to be a quality issue, the company simply explained that the material is “delicate” and suggested I take the shoes to a cobbler for repair.

A product at this price should be durable enough for normal use. If the material is so fragile that it can be damaged before being worn outdoors, that reflects a serious design or manufacturing flaw—not customer misuse.

While they offered to reimburse the repair cost, I expected a replacement or a proper warranty solution, not to repair a brand-new pair of shoes.

Unfortunately, this experience has made me lose confidence in the brand. I won’t be purchasing from them again, and I cannot recommend these shoes to others.

I have not had my refund and there is no communication with this company also everytime i order shoes they do not fit, i love the shoes theyre beautifully made but have trouble with fit and refunds

These shoes are gorgeous and fit perfectly. They are comfortable, so stylish, and I feel fabulous wearing them.
