I am writing this review to warn others about the appalling lack of customer service from Destination2. What was supposed to be a dream holiday turned into a nightmare when we found ourselves stranded in the Maldives.

Despite the urgency of our situation, Destination2 was nowhere to be found. We sent numerous "urgent" emails while stranded, but we were met with total silence. Not a single person replied to our pleas for help or offered any assistance in getting us home.

Since returning, I have sent multiple emails with attached receipts proving the significant out-of-pocket expenses we were forced to pay due to their lack of support. Unsurprisingly, these emails have also been completely ignored. In a crisis, you expect your travel agent to be your first line of support. Instead, they took our money and disappeared when we needed them most. Avoid at all costs.

Have tried several times to call them today to enquire about a holiday and no-one answers the calls. Shameful.
Certainly wouldn't trust them with my money if they can't even answer the calls. I'd hate to think if you I had booked with them and had an issue what would happen?

Completely unaccountable and no empathy towards their customers. Not answering their Customer Services line. 3 emails responded to with generic responses - in essence saying, “we’re busy, so email us within 7 days of your departure date, and they won’t respond again.” Confirmed our flights have been cancelled, insurance doesn’t cover war, and the hotel will accept a cancellation, who hasn’t been paid currently anyway. Booked with you before, but will never again. I’d say the hundreds of customers in the same situation won’t either. I’ll be raising a credit card dispute as a result, and will continue until D2 finally accept responsibility and help us and many others in this situation. However, if you survive this as a business, you’ve lost a customer of me and anyone I know and have spoken to about your lack of support and care. Terrible.

21 DAYS FOR A REFUND....!!!!!! YES THATS CORRECT - I DID SAY 21 DAYS - ITS NOT A TYPO

Update 3.... FOR EVEYONE TO SEE.....

THURSDAY MARCH 19TH 2026

Im now 14 days in from when they told me I would be getting a full refund on Friday 4th March 2026 and still the money has not been returned to me..!!!

DESTINATION 2 HAVE AN UNPRECEDENTED TIMEFRAME FOR REFUNDING OUR MONEY WHICH IS UPTO 21 DAYS - 14 OF WHICH HAS ALREADY LAPSED WITH MYSELF.

I DONT DOUBT FOR 1 MINUTE THAT THIS APPALLING COMPANY WILL RUN THAT 21 DAYS TO THE WIRE AS THATS THE TYPE OF COMPANY THEY CLEARLY ARE.

I MEAN HOW MANY 1 STAR REVIEWS ARE THERE NOW...????

SAYS IT ALL....

BE CAREFUL EVERYONE OUT THERE.....

What customer service - nightmare

Destination2
This is the number they ask you to ring
0330 124 0425,answer asks you to select one of 4 options - I select option 4 (for anything else select option 4) guess what happens next
The recorded call just repeats & repeats & repeats
Which means option 4 is not a genuine option & wastes your time, while you grow more frustrated that no one in customer services gets back to you. Obviously it’s emails also to customer services & the auto reply says to give 7 days. A whole 7 days ( my experience you hardly ever get replies). I would never book a cruise with them again, beware. Cruise company state the agent should be informing you about all of these details. But they told me they knew nothing. The frustration & stress, I carn’t go through this again

No customer service when things go…

No customer service when things go wrong. I booked a package holiday to New York, direct flights with AerLingus, outbound flight cancelled, offered indirect flight 24 hours later, as only going for 3 nights and my husband having mobility issues I rejected flight. They have refused to refund me and say I need to go through travel insurance.

I am appalled at your advertisement at…

I am appalled at your advertisement at this present time of terror,dinner under the stars. People have died in a mass shooting and you put this advertisement on when people fear for their life's. We certainly won't be holidaying with fear. I think out of respect you should take this of air ,until things settle down.

Avoid Destination2 – Cancelled My Paid Holiday Last Minute and Left Me Stranded

I booked a stay at Titanic Deluxe Lara through Destination2 for myself and my two children. Before booking, I compared prices on TripAdvisor, and Destination2 was £300 to £400 cheaper than some other providers. It did not seem like an error, just a better deal.

I received a confirmation email, followed by a travel voucher a few hours later, which gave me confidence that everything was confirmed and secure.

Then, just two days before travel, I received a cold, generic email saying that the booking was being cancelled due to a “supplier pricing error.” I was given three options:
1. Switch to Wind of Lara, a clearly lower-grade hotel, at no extra cost
2. Stay at the original hotel but pay an extra £946.65
3. Cancel and receive a full refund

The email ended with:
“If we do not hear from you by 1pm GMT time on the 10/07/2025, we will opt for the option of cancelling and refunding your reservation in full.”

There were no phone calls. I had to chase them, and despite being promised multiple call backs, none ever came. I explained that I could not afford to rebook unless the refund was immediate. They told me it would take several working days to reach my account. On the day before I was due to travel, I still had no confirmed accommodation and no refund. I had no choice but to accept the cancellation, knowing the refund would not arrive in time.

That evening, I had to scramble to borrow money and rebook another hotel under extreme pressure. It was a deeply stressful and unfair situation.

Destination2 did not just cancel my booking. They left me stranded without support and showed no willingness to resolve the issue properly. The price I paid was not unusually low, so blaming a “pricing error” simply does not hold up.

I will never book with this company again and strongly advise others to avoid them. If something goes wrong, they hide behind emails, ignore phone calls, and leave you to deal with the consequences.

They don't help or care if things go wrong

Our flight was delayed and i called Destination2 to ask them to let the hotel know we would not be arriving until the next day. When we arrived the hotel had cancelled our booking. Their emergency helpline just told me to book another hotel room, but our hotel was full. We managed to get a room at another hotel which was very expensive but they told me to book it. Since coming home they are claiming the told the hotel we would be late, but the hotel told me they hadn't told them. Either way as the travel agent they should either be paying us the refund or getting the original hotel to pay a refund. Instead they are refusing to speak on the phone and have ignored my emails for 3 weeks. DO NOT USE THEM. If things go wrong they do not care.

Do not book with Destinstion2

Destination2 are a thoroughly and extremely uncaring, incompetent and poorly run travel agent. Please stay away and book your holidays elsewhere. If anything goes wrong or changes, expect no help and extra cost.

I went to Dubai and booked hotels with them. Included in the package was a “ free transfer”. We had to change plans due a family emergency after a family member at home had a stroke.

They were prepared to leave us stranded. They invented terms and conditions to deny the transfer back to the airport despite knowing that a family member had had a stoke.

Only on threatening legal action and a whole day emailing did they finally arrange the transfer as contracted.

To make a complaint, I requested a GDPR request for all data and they made up their own rules again, stating that you can only make a request when at home and using a specific form.

This is not compliant with the law and they were reported for failing to comply with GDPR regulations.

Totally totally recommend you avoid these cowboys. If you have any changes to your travel plans, (and this does happen), don’t expect any help. They make up their own rules.

If you have any issues with them, please ask for a GDPR SAR request and threaten legal action. You only need to email to any person in the company and they are obliged to provide the information. Don’t need to complete their restrictive and controlling form.

Please go elsewhere. Please avoid these cowboys. I travel extensively and Destination2 are the worst I’ve ever seen.

Ps replying to their reply, may I add that I wish they were this prompt in dealing with their failings rather than have me lose a day of holiday dealing with their arrogant and atrocious customer service.

You’ll see they always try and turn the argument to blame the customer. See other similar negative feedback.

Regarding making things up, this is a response from their customer service agent on 23 September regarding a GDPR request.

“I have verified that unfortunately, my department cannot physically assist you with a subject access request. This must be addressed to our customer relations team upon your return to the UK, as they have a process internally in regards to fulfilling this.” Daniel, Destination2 23 September 2024.

Totally made up rule. Not legal. Requested my passport details even though they don’t even have them to cross check. Utter rubbish company.

Please filter all feedback to “negative” and read others’ comments. You’ll see they always blame the customer and patronise the comments.

They have been reported to the ICO 🙌

Beware

Booked a hotel but later discovered terrible reviews on both trip advisor and you tube. When I asked if I could change hotel I was told there was £100 amendment fee which I think is excessive given the hotel cost less than £300 and the booking is 8 months away.

My advice is only use this company if your 100% certain you won't need to change or cancel.

We booked holiday to Thailand on the 19th September 24 everything 2as going fine paid our deposit then the nightmare started the flight time we booked were great flying from Birmingham uk yo doha then to Thailand we had a wait of just over two hrs which was fine we're both in our sixties and then they changed our flights to turkish airlines where we had a stopover over of nearly 9hrs both ways no accommodation was offered for the inconvenience we were furious nearly cancelled but wasted we would loose most of our money when I booked this holiday tjerewould have been no way I would have booked these flight times I think it was very unfair whst they have done we are also left with paying for accommodation at airport as 9 hrs is s long time to hang around airport especially when your traveling through the night I think this company reel you in then they deceive you this review was regarding our booking and flights thank goodness nothing else went wrong when we arrived at our hotel which was lovely be very aware of this company

The flight to Barbados on our recent…

The flight to Barbados on our recent holiday was sold as BA flights with complimentary drink service. The flight turned to be Air Lingus which it has been for a year and a half. When I tried to ask/complain (which ive been trying to do since 03/11/23) i get zero response. Phone calls are exhausting as they try refer you to a department that never answer. The ATOL certificate information does not match the ATOL website and therefore you cant lodge a formal complaint. I have tried to get the correct information but they just refer me to the website, why cant they tell me over the phone?? Appalling mis selling and customer service.

Helpful agents with first hand knowledge of resorts

I have used this company several times over the last few years because I like the fact you can tailor your package holiday by choosing from a vast selection of airlines.
On this occasion I called to book, as my first choice of hotel was not available, Nadine dealt with my booking and was able to recommend a couple of hotels from personal experience. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Having been initially disappointed at not being able to book my first choice of hotel, on reflection, I think Nadine has found us a better hotel!
I will definitely be using Destination 2 again and look forward to Nadine helping me book my next holiday.

EXEMPLARY CUSTOMER SERVICE

I've just booked my holiday in Dubai through Destinations2, which we used before as well. This time I was very impressed by Nadine Edwards. She is knowledgeable, clearly and well spoken, patient, understanding and VERY EFFICIENT! Full marks for her customer service manners as well.
The whole booking process was quick and smooth. I highly recommend Nadine and shall make my future bookings through her.
Great company and staff!!

WARNING Terrible/no customer service

As with another review on here I also have been trying to rebook a hotel since December 2020. I got covid and had to change my booking Destination 2 said no problem they will change to 31/7/21 but we still couldn’t fly due to covid rules so they changed to by 31/12/21 and said I had a credit for the hotel. I tried to book this credit on about 5 occasions but was told by staff Emily, Selina, Kirsty and Sean at different times from approx June 2021 to December 2021 that there was no credit showing so I could not book. Then in January 2022 I got a letter saying the hotel was booked by a 3rd party and that their terms were 50% of the money and I had to go to the same hotel so out of interest I looked on their site for my credit note to find nothing there I spoke to staff who told me the same I would not have accepted this as when I booked there was no terms attached to the confirmation and these have to be clearly displayed. I was advised to send them a letter giving 10 days notice to get a reply or I would go legal (I did this in July 2022) at this point I actually spoke to a manager Neil Latham who said he was sorting it out and would get back to me since July I have had about 2 emails stating he was still trying with the 3rd party but for the last couple of months I have been ignored I asked him to write a letter to say he wouldn’t honour the booking or rebook it but he just ignores my emails my insurance company called him and asked for a letter but he wouldn’t talk to them. I called nearly every day throughout September and was told he was on another line and will call me back I have never had a call back. I agree with the other review they just want to keep our money so as they did don’t waste time with Destination 2 keep an email trail of a few emails requesting them to return payment in full or a rebooking then call citizens advise or the consumer board and ask how to word a complaints letter giving notice and then go straight to the small claims court that’s the only way you will get anywhere
And if you do book with them use a credit card (not debit card) and go through that Route of claiming back money but be warned there is a time limit. To recap to date I don’t have this sorted out and that’s almost 2 years now

No transfer at the airport in…

No transfer at the airport in Mauritius. We ended up paying for a taxi at our expense £60 after making several phone calls to the emergency number on our paperwork. No representative to welcome you. After a 3 month investigation ( yes 3 months ) we were told that we did not report to a desk on arrival and therefore no recompense would be paid. When we arrived at the hotel at 8am in the morning we were told that we could not check in until 14.00, this after travelling for 26 hours. As we started to unpack a cockroach scuttled across the room. During the holiday we were kept awake at night by the barking of packs of feral dogs which are allowed to roam free in Mauritius, culminating with a sickening attack by a pack on another dog.
No representative to pass this feedback on to. Definitely a budget operation who will not be getting any more of my custom.

There is no price match guarantee

There is no price match guarantee. They will not refund the sizeable initial deposit, even within 24 hrs, so make sure you take your time and shop around for best price before committing. Such a shame customer service does not understand the lifetime value of a happy customer.

First time using Destination 2

First time using Destination 2, a little apprehensive at first but after reading through previous reviews i decided to give them a call. Spoke to the lovely Nadine, from the initial hello to the final booking, she was nothing but brilliant and extremely helpfully and attentive. Explained everything in detail and did everything to finding the best possible flights for the dates i provided, at the best price and times to suit us. I had already chosen a destination to the Maldives and the resort, Nadine just confirmed that this was an ideal choice. Nothing was to much trouble. I can certainly say that i would book again with Nadine for any future holidays, and i would highly recommend others to do so too, as the booking was straight forward and so easy. Lets hope the dream holiday is also as perfect. Thank You
