Jill the woman who done my collection today is an absolute credit to the company if anything this company is so lucky to have her working for them from my last experience being completely traumatizing and extremely distressing leaving me feeling like I had no say in anything knowing I had suffered from domestic abuse and controlling behavior she left me feeling powerless over anything and I was spoken to like I was beneath her all while I was pregnant at that time however today Jill done nothing but undone all the trauma and anxiety I had from Molly the girl I had previously for my collection she made me feel worthless Jill I had today was kind considerate extremely humble not an ounce of judgement but most of all she listened to what would make me feel most comfortable while also being able to do her job correctly she didn’t treat me like I’m any less of a human if anything she made me feel so much better about my whole life the world needs more people like her in it cause it would most definitely be a better place

Since the media have been able to report on what happens behind closed doors in family courts, a number of mainstream news outlets have covered cases in which DNA Legal's drug and alcohol testing has allegedly produced inaccurate results. In some of these cases, potential miscarriages of justice were identified before damaging decisions were made.

In my own case, I typically drank alcohol twice a week, averaging around 20 to 25 units. I was confident I would fall with in the social drinking category within 5 to 30 pg/mg for occasional/repeated use. To be extra sure I stopped drinking completely 5 weeks prior to the test.

I was shocked when the results came back at 60 pg/mg with a report stating I was consuming alcohol at a chronic excessive level. A marker level of 30 pg/mg is commonly advised you would need to consume around 52 units per week which is double the amount I typically drink. My result of 60 therefore suggested I was drinking over 100 units per week which is absolutely insane! This was completely inconsistent with my actual drinking habits. In addition, I had consumed no alcohol for five weeks prior to the test.

I also took a PEth blood test, which produced a result of around 160. While this was considered a pass, it still suggested regular alcohol consumption within the previous four weeks. Again, this did not reflect my circumstances, as I had not consumed alcohol during the five weeks before testing.

Fortunately, I obtained a second test from a different company approximately one month later, at significant additional expense. This result came back comfortably within the social drinking range, which raised further questions in my mind about the reliability of the earlier findings.

When parents are accused of alcohol misuse in family court proceedings, hair strand testing can carry substantial weight. As a result, a disputed or inaccurate result can have life-changing consequences for both parents and children.

The experience had a profound impact on my family. Although I eventually regained some shared custody of my children, the process took nearly three years. During that time, their confidence was badly affected, and the emotional toll on all of us was immense. Thankfully, we are now rebuilding our lives and are happy again.

I was also frustrated by what I perceived as aggressive administrative practices. DNA Legal frequently called me while I was busy at work, often hourly wanting me to book tests and pay. On one occasion, I was sent an invoice that appeared to belong to another individual, followed by a series of overdue payment reminders. This left me with the impression that commercial priorities were being placed ahead of sensitivity towards people already dealing with highly stressful family court proceedings.
