Absolutely horrible service
Absolutely horrible. No power in Virginia for almost an hour now and nothing posted online with updates. I’m not surprised with the 2 star rating. It should be at 0/5 instead

A simple transfer of services turned into a nightmare & very time consuming. First, they transferred service to show a commercial account, after spending hours on the phone, walking around the condo building to find a serial # on the meter. 6 weeks later, my acct shows 0 balance, my landlord calls to advise that HE is receiving a bill?! I've spent hours on the phone AGAIN trying to resolve the issue, passed from one person to another!
New Construction
New Construction, Dominion admitted the have made exceptions outside of their procedures in the manual on placing meters on other homes, but they would not make an exception because the meter could not be seen from the pole. Yet there are meters placed at the back and sides of houses where there is no clear view of the pole?
My particular builder has gotten several exceptions and paid for the extra linear footage for the meter to be placed where needed.
I even asked the question if there was a legal due diligence on how many exceptions would be found? He agreed they have done it in the past, "but thats the problem with exceptions and we have given your builder exceptions in the past"
Today is 2-6-2024
Today is 2-6-2024. Nine days ago, I looked online at my bill, and my usage was at 63 kWh. We felt comfortable with the information that we saw given that we are out most of the time during the week with work and school. Last month we paid $197.00 even though we just moved here from another state and did not move into our apartment until the middle of December. I thought it was a one-off thing. Now, I just checked, and our kWh usage is 638 kWh!!!! In nine days, we, two people, used 575 kWh of electricity!!!! This is outrageous. I have two more days in the billing period. Interested in seeing the bill. SMH. If this isn't high day robbery and fleecing the consumer, I don't know what is.

Terrible customer service!! I would rate it a negative if I could! When you call all you get is the run around!! They tell you to go to website and it's no help either. Terrible Terrible Terrible!!!!

Point blank. Better service needs to be provided to your customers. We deserve better than the dropped call, inaccurate information given by customer service reps, and follow up for customer service issues.
I moved into a house the builder already had the power on it was in their name. All I needed to do was call Dominion to transfer the account into my name. I called day 3 of moving in since there's a grace period to set everything up. I was assured that everything was all set then 2 days later I no longer have power because the account is not setup the right way. I then spent at least 3 hours getting transferred then disconnected. Multiple times I was told that my meter was not connected to the correct account with no way on fixing it besides transferring me to nowhere. I finally spoke to a supervisor who told me that my service would resume later that night. FALSE! It took 3 more calls the following day to get the power turned back on.
Now 3 months later I've been calling because the website/app says I have a $0 for a bill. It also said that the account is no longer active, I finally got through to get the account turned back on, but the representative didn't stick around long enough for me to double check her work.
More training is needed, better systems too.

Reliable Power Most of the Time
We've had service from Dominion Energy (formerly Virginia Power) for several decades, now. The continuity of service has not always been great--we once went six weeks without power following Hurricane Isabel--but in the past few years, they've become far more reliable. We usually have power restored within 24-48 hours.
5 star customer service
Had a recent experience with this Gas company in Utah and I must say the help i got was so wonderful and for all the people who helped make it happen fast were amazing!! I do know the name of the person I first spoke with and got me on the right path and put into motion the process to get my gas turned on asap and her name was Pam! She was so helpful and so sweet about everything. Wish I remembered the names of the other ladys I spoke with during that day but I just wanted to give an all around shoutout to Dominion and say ya'all ROCK!! Thank you
Terrible company with predatory practices and policies
This company is the sole monopolistic provider of gas in my area and as a result I have been a customer of theirs for almost three years.
First things first, I had all kinds of issues with them when we first switched out an electric furnace to natural gas involving them not answering calls and not coming out to install a gas meter. The only thing in our house that uses gas is the furnace. Everything else is electric. After the first winter with a gas furnace, when the temps warmed up enough to not require heat in our house, I kept getting bills for $30-40/month. I called up the company and wondered why I was getting charged when I wasn’t using any propane. They informed me that this is the charge just to keep the line on. I then told them I wanted the gas shut off. They sent someone out who had a terrible attitude and shut off my gas and I didn’t see another bill until fall when I had them come back to turn the gas back on. Once they did, I got an extra fee in my first statement which was explained to me as a reactivation fee.
Today, I received an email saying I needed to reauthorize my autopay. When I logged on to their crappy, primitive website the first thing I noticed was that you can now only select a range of days in which your payment will be deducted from your bank account after the billing date, with the maximum being 21 days. I have autopay set up for almost all of my bills and never have I seen before where a company makes you select a max number of days after the billing date in which your payment is deducted. Seems like a charade to collect interest on customers’ early payments. Absolutely terrible company and they don’t care because they know they have a monopoly on the gas service in certain areas.
