I had Graham and Paul out from Donnellys today for a boiler power flush. Yes I learned what it all does , the cleaner , the machine , all radiators , pipe work cleaned , so now I am all set for another few years of trouble free heating. Both Graham and Paul were asked questions and answered, clean and tidy workmanship,

I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this company.

The way it is run is an absolute shambles. There is a complete lack of organisation at every level — no one seems to know what they’re doing, and it shows in the quality and safety of the work being carried out.

Employees are treated poorly, with wages being withheld, which is not only unacceptable but illegal. This alone should be a major red flag to anyone considering working here.

Even more concerning is the complete disregard for safety. Apprentices are being sent out to handle major jobs they are clearly not trained or experienced enough to carry out. On top of that, plumbers are being assigned to gas work, which is extremely dangerous and irresponsible.

Overall, this company is chaotic, poorly managed, and puts both its workers and customers at risk. Avoid at all costs.

Graham gave good advice regarding our fault with the boiler. After ordering the correct part he returned together with Craig and completed the job. Thank you.

Wm Donnelly plumbing ,quick, efficient.

We called Wm Donnelly plumbing as we had no hot water from our boiler. Graham called to say when he would be with us, was quick and efficient, and the boiler was fixed within 30 minutes. Prompt, courteous service, would definetly recommend.

Would never recommend this company got…

Would never recommend this company got a new boiler left me with a major gas leak tried to phone them told by a girl they would send someone out the next day unbelievable after 5 phone calls they sent someone out nice lad who fixed the problem he told me there's no way a gas test was done on the job I did get compensation of them then 6 months later the boiler broke got fixed have a 10 year warranty and 10 years part I paid extra for now today another part broke and they want£260 to fix it been totally robbed by them checked the pri e of the arriston boiler they supplied £750 and they took £3.500 to fit it now no one arriston or donnelly will admit to the problems one keeps blaming the other will see if the ombusman can help me

Small bathroom leak

Had a small leak in bathroom which was promptly taken care of by the engineer (Ross Robertson). Very pleasant to deal with and communication was great from before he arrived to him leaving. Thanks again!

Great job by Graeme Kelly and craig

Great job by Graeme Kelly and craig , didn,t catch Craigs surname but they both came in and sorted out my problem with the boiler . Both workers were good at keeping me informed with what was going on with the boiler and what they were doing to fix the problem , its good to have heating and hot water in the house again , cant thank them enough .

Graham visited and put a new divertor…

Graham visited and put a new divertor into our boiler. He was a very knowledgeable engineer. The new divertor was plastic where as the old one was brass. Obtaining a complete seal with different divertor required ingenuity and skill. Graham explained what he was doing and answered any questions willingly and comprehensively.
He was affable, polite and cheerful. Thank you very much.

Graham was the 3rd engineer to visit …

Graham was the 3rd engineer to visit to fix my boiler, the 1st engineer to visit ordered the wrong part, wished I got Graham 1st time as he got the part fitted and left me with heating and hot water, very friendly and knowledgeable guy. Thank you

Would not recommend

I got a new combi boiler fitted and before fitting I asked on telephone if I could get the boiler moved up 5cm. Even sent video of previous boiler and where I wanted new boiler to get fitted .

The reason for wanting it moved up was for benefits of getting new kitchen fitted.

They said on phone that this should not be a problem.

The job was sub contracted out and 2 fitters were nice guys who did good overall job, then a further 2 apprentices turned up so 4 guys. However they did the job they were contracted to do and they said it could not be moved up due to eve of the house outside.

After boiler was installed I called manager to come and check as it is very very low on worktop and kitchen fitters who were coming out to quote for a new kitchen could not believe how low it was!!

Manager came out and intially he thought too was very low and said could move up a tiny bit but would make no difference .

I asked if I could not get it moved up with flu going out roof as all neighbours have this , however was told need roofer and it would be alot more expensive.

Having paid £3400 for the job the fact of this being alot more expensive put me off.

However still getting quotes for kitchen and each and everyone of them have said it would not have been that big an additional job to put flu out roof and at very most £200, this would have made it easier for kitchen fitters and made my new kitchen alot nicer .So the job of installing new boiler was basically to make their job easier .

So im totally gutted at this !!!

I could pay the £200 or even less to get fixed properly by another engineer but just having this fitted in January at £3400 , I do not want to break any guarantees and therefore I'm going to have to get kitchen installed round about this eyesore of low boiler.

So I would not recommend this company at all .

The fact manager said it was much bigger job to put flu through roof and alot more expensive, at £200 or less I would not class this as alot more expensive to get job done more decent .

Not Recommended

Booked and paid for boiler service. Advised would receive call from engineer approx 30 mins before arriving. Took time off and waited all day. Nobody turned up and no contact at all. Phoned next day to find out what was going on. Girl was not interested. Offered no explanation, no apology. Wss advised they would arrange refund. Had cheek to advise this would normally take 5-7 days but she would get it done today!!! Would give 'zero' stars if could. Defo don't recommend which is shame as used them before and engineers were great.

Very unprofessional

Very unprofessional. Dreadful service and communication . Our insurance company used Donnelly when boiler broke down. They were advised the customers were aged 75 and one with health issues. During the 3 week period Aberdeenshire experienced extremely cold weather, but despite this we still had no resolution after 3 weeks.
It was 5 days before an engineer appeared and he ordered 2 small ignition parts. After a further week we were told that DPD still had not delivered the part. The following Friday we were told the part still hadn’t arrived and an appointment was made for the following Monday? so we booked a hotel to get some warmth till then. A few hours later at 7.35pm? Donnelly's called to say the part had arrived and engineer would be tomorrow so we cancelled hotel with no refund. The engineer called at 2.15pm the following day to say he would arrive before 3pm but at 3.45pm Donnelley’s called to say it was cancelled as the part had not in fact arrived but as we were originally booked for the Monday it shouldn’t matter (It did as we had cancelled hotel also how did she know part would arrive?) When we asked to speak to a manager we were told that we couldn't and when we asked for a manager to call us back the person on the phone hung up. The engineer arrived on Monday but it was not the part and despite not taking boiler apart ??? and having phoned his brother for advice, ordered 4 parts???. We phoned insurance company 3 days later who said that Donnelley's had reported that the repair was uneconomical as the boiler was 12 years old? and in very poor condition. This is untrue as the house was only built 10 years ago and boiler serviced every year by British Gas and last serviced 4 months previously. If a company cannot give a satisfactory service in a particular area of the country they should not offer it. This experience impacted the health and wellbeing of a vulnerable elderly person.
The request for a manager to call us back never happened.
