disappointing
I had a drainage issue with a gurgling pipe.
The engineer attended and cleared the drain so it was flowing, but the gurgling remained. I raised this at the time and was told it was something I would need to accept, and that further work wasn’t worth doing.
Within the next week or so I had another company come out, who used the appropriate equipment and cleared the blockage completely. The gurgling stopped straight away.
I contacted the company afterwards to explain what had happened via email, but the response focused on the job being signed off and there being no formal record of the gurgling, which was discussed on site, rather than the issue itself.
Based on my experience, the problem wasn’t fully addressed, even though the paperwork may suggest it was appropriately dealt with.

I am sorry to read your review. I have checked with the engineer and the job sheet completed at the time states - Very poor access all pipework enclosed within this being the ground floor flat of a block consisting of an upper flat and a basement flat. No access to gully unblocked from the sink and using the wet extraction unit all checked running clear.
There was no comment of having to accept the gurgling.
The engineer worked for 1/2 hour and charged a minimum rate. He could have worked for longer but didn't want to increase the invoice further. Obviously further works were required as Dyno-Rod carried out the same work but for longer. Maybe our engineer should have carried on working as proven was needed.
Our engineers will work until the problem runs clear, as in this case, or could be accused of running up a larger bill and time wasting.

As previously stated, the drain was cleared and tested with your wife present. You were charged for 30 minutes, when tested if the drain was not flowing as it should then we would have stayed longer (which would have increased you bill) but it was flowing so there was no need. When you reported that the drain was backing up again we offered you our next availability to come back out which you declined. We always do our upmost to make sure our customers are happy with the service, but on this occasion we were unable to get back out to you at gone 20:30 in the evening as you were demanding.
This does not sound like unethical behaviour.

Do NOT use this company! Paid for a drain to be cleared, technicians said it was done, but 1 hour after they left I did some laundry and drain overflowed! Speaking to the owner Paul, all I got was rudeness and he kept going back at me for every single statement I made. No accountability at all! He said he would send someone 2 days later, which is unacceptable. I take care of my elderly mother and need to do laundry every day. I paid £169 for getting a drain unblocked and certainly did not get that. What a rude man, what an utter waste of money and disappointment. I will be reporting them to Checkatrade as well as trading and standards.

When we arrived on site we found that the manhole access was not possible due to a newly laid resin pathway so was only able to work from the gully. The engineer cleared the drain and tested this with you on site. This was able to be done within the first 30 mins, as we charge per 30 mins this prevented any additional and unnecessary charges.
Later that evening you called to say that you had used the washing machine and that the drain was backing up again, it was explained to you that the drain was tested with you on site and was flowing away so there was no need for us to continue working on it and would not have left if it was still backing up at the time.
At 20:30 that evening you demanded that we send an engineer straight away, unfortunately we did not have the availability to do so and you were given our earliest availability and told that if we got an earlier appointment we would let you know. As for your comments suggesting that we were rude, we have listened back to the call recording some 27minutes long and at no point were we rude and in fact you were asked several times to stop swearing and shouting.
We have cleared a drain in minimal time and tested the drain with you. The job sheet that you signed on site states all of this, along with an advisory to make the manhole accessible for future.
We have offered to come back at our earliest availability which you have declined.

We were very happy with the service given by Lloyd and his colleague. They were prompt and efficient and very polite. It was a much bigger job than expected, but it was dealt with straightaway, which avoided further stress. It was much more expensive than at first envisaged, but hopefully we should not have any further problems.

Misleading information.
Company make a thing of having no call out charge, they then quote a 1/2 hourly rate, then charge further rate for jetting on top of original rate once on site, which equates to £97.40 per 1/2 hour (plus VAT) =£116.88 per 1/2 hour, as a drain clearing company i think Jetting is part of the main use when clearing a drain.
Obviously very misleading, won't be using them again.

Somewhat surprised by your review. You were quoted the rates during our phone call (sound file has been provided to you). All rates are quoted on the phone prior to attending, NOT on site as you claim. Please listen to your call again to confirm.
You weren't going to be on site and declined the offer of our usual service of a call ahead, saying 'Just get on with it'.
The engineer did call from site and inform you that jetting would be required and gave the cost.
You have admitted today after listening to the sound file of the job booking that you found the pricing confusing! You could have asked for further explanation if this was the case. You said you were not quoted for the CCTV camera which was used and a refund was instantly given.
As you can see from our 755 reviews - 89% 0f which are 5* and Excellent, most of our customers fully understand the pricing quote and are happy with the works.
Jetting is not part of the main use when clearing a drain, rods are more commonly used.
Sorry that you did not understand the use of the word 'additional', maybe you should have booked the work for the following morning when you were home and the engineer could have explained more.

Responsive and friendly
We used a rival company to do the initial survey, but after a lot and back and forth and a HUGE cost increase on the quote because ‘they’d messed up on the labour costs’ we looked elsewhere. I sent all the information to Drain Division who were quick to respond, friendly and knowledgeable. When they attended to do the job it transpired the initial survey we’d paid for was completely wrong, but again they were quick and responsive to get the work done in a timely manner.
